Commentator Geoffrey Boycott once said "Sachin may be a great batsman but he never got his name on the Lord's honor board." Harsha Bhogle, as always with witty remarks, responded "So whose loss is it, Sachin's or the honor boards'?" - What a a reply !

    Few feedbacks:
    a. I completely understand you want to ask all the questions that you have prepared, but at the same time do consider listening to the person and try contributing to the conversation, rather than in constant hurry to jump from one question to the other.
    b. When you are interviewing who has got a lot of experience in a particular field, you need to understand that the person has got a lot of stories to share, so don't limit yourself to the questions that have been asked over and over again. Let him speak. You don't need to do anything at all, just sit there and enjoy.
Having said that, Thanks. Cheers to the great initiative you are upto, guys. Always a fan of HoB.

Yes, I agree and to add to that I noticed that, very often, Ms. Mehta was preparing for the next segment. In doing so, she was losing the essence and emotion of what Mr. Bhogle was narrating. I felt that at times, she would cut some of the free flowing stories to ask something slightly off topic. Given HOB are editing each interview, they can always let the stories flow and even ask follow-ups and cut things in edits if they are stretching.
That said, HOB team has been doing some great stuff and this new series sounds like a great idea too. All the best to the team for this venture!

Not a hate comment but a feedback for the interviewer: It's good to be prepared for the interview but when you have someone like Harsha in front of you, who already looks so excited and eager to share his stories, your job should be to get the most out of him and not just to stick to the script. For most times, it felt like the interviewer was not invested in his answers but eagerly waiting to jump to the next question or showcase that she'd done her research. It was like having a gold mine in front of you and but you just scratched the surface, because you were too eager to wrap up and leave. ❤

He is known for his story telling ability she could have been a little more patient and listen to him than cutting him off frequently with her questions. This looks more like a QA than a podcast/interview. ❤️
(Edit): Not sure it is the anchor's fault but it would be bad editing. Very abrupt cuts in between.

Viewer Discretion: Ignore the interviewer and just enjoy the natural flow of Mr. Bhogle. The producers could have had a robot instead and he would still enjoy conversing with it. So good is Harsha that the interviewer’s poor effort is completely over shadowed. Please bring a person who can naturally converse and ask questions relevant to the flow of the conversation. @@ashokkarthikeyan13 You have no idea how many more genuinely talented people are denied this opportunity just because they don’t look that glamorous. Harsha himself would have found it tough in this current generation given his physical appearance. I’m just saying because producers just want a pretty face who can do a half decent job. Personally, I would go with talent. So that’s my point in this case. I have no intentions of attacking her. It’s the dumb producers who think audience will buy anything. Let it flow, even if u miss out on ton of things that's fine, but let the flow move.

It is true that being a host, he doesn't get a chance to end games. Ravi Shastri always gets that chance although he has to do the presentation soon after. Hope Harsha's wish to finish big matches comes soon.
Another thing you find amazing about Harsha is his command over languages. He speaks wonderfully well in Hindi, Marathi and Telugu. That's not a skill many modern Indians have.

In the day and age of cacophony of television presenters yelling animatedly at the top of their voices to hoard attention, Horsha's warmth is gold dust.
That analogy of people inviting tele-presnters home, struck such a cord!

Loved Harsha's words! But not sure why there was a title which says - "Relation with Kohli" and there's only one talk about Virat Kohli on his captaincy in the video. It'd be a lil unfair if Kohli is used just to seek the views as he is the trending at the moment after his 71st 100.

Ganguly and Dhoni as captains had an impact that I don't think we'll see for a long-time.
Ganguly nurtured and backed players like Sehwag, Nehra, Zaheer, Harbhajan, Yuvi, Dhoni, etc. all the way through. That core formed the spine of the 2011 World Cup winning team.
Dhoni then carried that on, nurtured and backed the likes of Ashwin, Raina, Kohli (part of the 2011 winning team) and backed players like Jadeja Rohit Sharma Dhawan etc. who formed the core of the 2013 Champions Trophy winning team (which India won unbeaten).
Dhoni also won all major ICC trophies possible, that too all in different conditions and countries.

I am surprised how come someone like Harsha Bhogle can forget the likes of Kapil Dev. I think he covered almost everything that Harsha mentions here about what the captains Saurav, Dravid, Kumble, MS and Virat did to Indian Cricket. He made the team believe that even after the top order was gone India could win matches, that India could defend low totals and that India is not just about spinners.

I'm a Sri Lankan and I absolutely love and respect Harsha Bhai. Witty, charismatic, extremely knowledgeable about the game, and such a interesting man to listen to. He's not just the voice of cricket in India but also the voice of cricket in the world of cricket as a whole, and throughout my childhood. Him along with the late Tony Grieg are legends to this day and loved cricket as a whole!

Nothing against anyone but the question is incomplete...every time you ask that question you should mention the parameter in which you are judging...if it's trophies it has to be Dhoni ...if it's sheer leadership and making players it has to be Ganguly...if it's about making a revolution it has to Kapil Dev and if it's about Domination and winning abroad it has to be Virat Kohli.

September 9th 2024, I can hear the loud dhol during Ganesh Visarjan. With this visarjan, Harsha Bhogle’s wisdom is washing away all the clutter and filling me with everything I needed at this point in time, while all that I knew is coming back again as a reminder. Thank you, my childhood legendary commentator."

Absolutely LOVED listening to Mr. Harsha Bhogle; left me wishing the interview wouldn't end .
Wouldn't say the same about the interviewer though. Abysmal to say the least. It's like she memorized some stuff and is just going through the motions of asking questions . No natural flow of conversation. No real interest in what Mr. Harsha Bhogle is saying . Absolutely no idea on how to ask a follow up question. And don't get me started on the number of times he was interrupted ! That too to ask "how much were you paid"! Eesh!

Amazing interview by Harsha Bhogle but kind of disappointed with the interview structure. Very templatised. Taking a leaf from Harsha's book, too much templatised kills the emotion. The stories could be organically explored.

Am 1985 born. I was 4 when Sachin played 1st match for India and 28 when he retired. I canbrelate so much with whatever Harsha says and believes. If where Indian cricket is today is actually the destination, I will say the journey through 90' and 2000's and mid 2010's were golden years to say the least.
Journey was just so romantic. I wish it never ended.❤❤

Honest and ONLY feedback - The interviewer should have been better. Utter lack of energy. She was just reading through the questions and tickmarking them. Atleast with minimal knowledge on how to build a conversation about the topic that is being spoken about.
    Nevertheless, an amazing initiative!

One of the best interview of Harsha. It’s very amicable and casual kinds bringing lots of unsaid and unknown aspects Good job host. Being a Hyderabadi and I am from AIR and so I felt so happy that u made him speak quite number of incidents of that era. Nostalgia can be boring but you did a good balancing act of nostalgia , his growth , little hurdles and star players. Well done. Looking forward to more of such cool and easy pleasant interviews.

The lady looked slightly out of sorts as an interviewer. Possibly because its Harsha Bhogle. For a person of his stature, its not enought to just have written questions, you need to match his eloquence and wit, which sadly is lacking for the interviewer. Example - When Harsha was asked about his first pay and he says - Do you really want to know? You dont reply with a "Yes absolutely" - like the lady did. But this will be a good experience for her to improve going foward..

Oh well! Obviously, Karishma was overwhelmed by the persona in front of her and one cant really blame her. Spontaneity is one thing that can be a takeaway from the Voice of the century! But her inability to have a take on many of his revelations and views reallly eroded the content somewhat. Harsha Bhogle is no mere commentator - he is an amalgam of qualities you rarely see in humans nowadays. Qualities of head and heart as they say. Complete spontaneity that's just waiting to take sound bytes, never a word that can be doubted for sincerity. As for his achievements, surely, there was more to it than mere luck and what he seems to believe, his "mediocrity" , again understated his own talent to achieve greatness. I have always admired the world of radio and cricket commentary and being from an era known for playing cricket barefoot, I remember fondly the voices that made up this world. It was news to me that Harsha also presented Bollywood music on radio, would have loved listening to him dwell longingly on the dulcet voices of Lata, Rafi, Manna Dey, Kishore kumar et al... That reminded me, one of the commentating greats was V M Chakrapani, a news reader on AIR, Delhi who would do the news at 8 a.m. and be at the Ferozeshah Kotla for the Test match commentary. I believe he moved to Australia and in a sort of reversal of roles, he did a programme of Hindi light music from bollywood for Radio Australia, (in addition to cricket commentary!)which I listened to ...with a bit of regret at India having lost a wonderful raconteur of cricket actions on the ground. Harsha Bhogle of course, rules the waves today and none comes even close, and one can sense the respect...and I dare say, reverence, some of his contemporaries have when doing shows with him! Like Indian civilisationn that achieved world domination without invading an inch of others' land, so has Harsha conquered the world with his wit, charm and wisdom.
My best wishes to him for many more years of exciting commentary to keep us all glued to the idiot box like no one else!
