    I can’t seem to lower the bridge posts. Are they locked?

    • @TheBedroomGuitarist1
      @TheBedroomGuitarist1  4 года назад +1

      So mine were not locked and move freely. Maybe try removing the bridge to check if there is a mechanical flaw. If you are looking to change the action maybe start with the truss rod? Thanks for the question.

    How do I get my guitar to sound heavy like that ? Slipknot sound . What amp and stuff do I need

    • @TheBedroomGuitarist1
      @TheBedroomGuitarist1  5 лет назад +6

      In this video, I am using a Recto-like amp model and a mesa 4x12 Impulse response DI and that's it. IMO the "Slipknot" sound really comes from the pickups, the tuning (drop B), and the right-hand dynamics. The signature blackouts have that heavy active pickup compression but are a little quieter than EMG's. Of course there is the signature Mick Thomson Rivera and Jim Root has his Orange stuff; however for, "in your face metal" a strong gain stage like a 5150 type amp/model and a big, dark, boomy cab like a mesa will get you there. I hope this answers your question.

    Cab jimroot Is this good ?

    • @TheBedroomGuitarist1
      @TheBedroomGuitarist1  5 лет назад +1

      I really like the Jim Root cab. It has "Voice of the World" speakers instead of the Celestion V30's. Definitely a different sound, but still a good sound especially for hot pick-ups. I also like that it is a little smaller than most 2x12 cabs; it makes it a bit easier to carry around to band practice. Also, personally, I love the little #4 embroidered on the grill cloth. So if you are looking to save a little money, you won't be disappointed. I hope this helps!

    So it doesn’t stay in tune?

    • @TheBedroomGuitarist1
      @TheBedroomGuitarist1  5 лет назад +4

      It doesn't stay in tune as well as top of the line double locking bridge systems I have played in the past or as well as I would like; however, consider I play this in Drop B tuning (main Slipknot tuning) with 10-52 string gauge which is unusually low. It is possible a different string gauge like the new Mammoth Slinky from Ernie Ball or a different tuning might help tuning stability. The fine tuners on the bridge work really well though! I hope this helps.

      @@TheBedroomGuitarist1 I use an 11-56 for drop b on this guitar and havent had any issues with tuning. However, due to the angle the string is pulling on the low e, you have to press the string down into the nut a little bit, tune it and then lock it. If you dont, the low e will be a half step higher in pitch when you go to lock it down.

    I really want this guitar, but the locking tuners are what is keeping me away from buying it..

    • @blade4174
      @blade4174 4 года назад +2

      TheMathPipe bro its a hard tail floyd so just remove the locking nut and use it like a usual guitar

    • @TheMathPipe
      @TheMathPipe 4 года назад +1

      Pragyan ah ok. I wasn’t aware one could do that. Very cool man. Ive heard nightmares about Floyd’s so I always been on the edge with buying guitars with them.
