I would strip the windshield of coatings and throw some Rain-X 2-1 Glass Cleaner on it. Lasts for months and is SUPER easy to reapply. That spot with the wiper will likely always be there in some capacity but I don't notice it much on my car using Rain-X. EDIT: Welp I guess you mentioned that later in this video.
The car looks awesome, Dave !!!!
The Meguiars Gold Class Car Wash Soap is an excellent choice! I have used it many times with Great Results! You keep your Bolt very Clean. Especially living in New Jersey‼️
Every car salesman wishes they were like Dave B. 👍 😎
Welcome back Dave B
Great segment; thanks for putting this one together! Keeping my fingers crossed that our vehicle gets shipped out soon now that it’s built. Keep crushing it, Dave-take care!
It may be the coating early on wasn’t fully cured and the wipers pushed the uncured coating and bunched it up. I recently coated my cars and the coatings can get wet and be driven after 24 hours but can take 2 weeks to fully cure. Your coating provider can polish that out and recoat the windshield or just got with rainx after they remove it.
That could be. They kept it inside for 24 hours after they applied but a few days after I took the car it did rain
That ZR2 is a nice looking truck! Hopefully you get some more of those in
At least someone has a bolt. Been waiting 6 wks for Red Euv premier I put a deposit on which in Dec was “In transit”. Chevy is playing games. Dealerships in FL are pissed off as well as their customers. All vehicles are stuck in Jacksonville. I am not willing to compromise on any options.
It’s my money and I’ll buy what I want too.😆
I recommend full frontal wrap. It helps repell stones, salt, chips. Sharp looking Bolt! 🌩
Your car's finish looks GREAT, Dave !!! I an considering ceramic for my Jeep Grand Cherokee ...... "Thank you" for posting this ! (Rick from Massachusetts)
GREAT haircut Dave B...Looking sharp!!
Thanks 😎
Just run a polisher on the windshield. A soft foam pad and a light cut polish should pull the coating off and be gentle enough that you can't mess it up. It may be a good idea to call the shop that did it first tho. Alot of shops will warranty little things like this, but since it's on the windshield it could go either way. It is basically expected that the coating will not hold up on the windshield because of the wipers.
Also, don't expect the coating to protect your paint from swirl marks. They can still happen on a coated vehicle. The only way to truly prevent swirl marks is proper wash techniques or a self healing PPF and alot of sunlight or a heat gun.
100%. I want those packages. And blue. I’ll upgrade but not downgrading.
More bolt!! Ugh. Want mine soon
My 17 year old Saturn Relay, never ceramic coated, also has that sane line on the windshield where the wiper stops. So, not just a ceramic coating issue.
I think that ZR2 would love so good with red stitching to match the tow hooks. Great looking truck regardless.
That is a very good idea!
@@DaveBsellsChevy Selling Rams and looking at what Chevy is doing right now makes me question things. Definitely going to be getting a bolt here soon though!
I saw the one in Ice blue in this video and that's actually the color I ordered mine in
It is a pretty popular color with our clients. A bunch of people ordered the Ice Blue
We ordered our Bolt EUV (comfort & confidence package + Sun & Sound) in early Feb. Received message from dealership that the TPW is for 1st week of Mar. Probably will not ship until Apr/May? We're just hoping the full tax credit is still in play. Looking forward for it. I am still driving my 2013 Volt (130k miles) I purchased brand new.
Your Bolt looks great. I think you paid a fair price for the ceramic coating. Will future touch ups be necessary? I just traded my black car for white. It will be easier to care for but nothing compares with black on black.
Nice to have a new Dave B video today! $900 seems a bit steep for that ceramic coating... given that you still have to keep washing the car anyway. But I am not as anal as some people with the finish of my cars. Based on your experience, however, if I were ever to want that coating as an option, I would tell the provider to cover the windshield first & NOT coat that... & then use Rain-X every month or two!
It'll pay off in the long run. All I do now is wash and dry. Three materials needed, wash mitt, gold class soap, absorber to dry. In the past I needed soap, glass cleaner, detail spray, wax, applicator pads, micro fiber towels, armorall, etc... Not to mention it was a much more labor intensive process. I take about 20 minutes every 2 to 3 weeks or so to keep the car looking great!
Nice👍🏻
I didn't realize this for years after, they were released, but the Honda CRX and the Mazda Miata only came in red, white and blue when they were released in 1984 and 1990.
hey dave b. i wanted to ask if you have any tips for new salespeople getting into the business? i actually got a job at a chevy dealership in california and my first day is tomorrow and i would love some tips from you who is a salesmen at a chevy dealership. i would love to see to like how u handle the whole process of selling a car because i havent got a clue on how to do it lol. ive done just as much research as i can about selling cars before my first day but just i guess little things i should know or what to expect when selling cars and how to do it properly and efficient. thank you in advance
I was hoping for the 2.7 in that truck. Every truck should have great gas mileage and low towing capability.
Perhaps get a clear ceramic tint film on the front windshield.
Finally a video lol
Hey Dave great videos! Are there Any white Bolt EUV’s for sale right now, or any orders backed out of? And would be the est wait time with an order?
We have nothing available. Wait times are estimated at 8 to 10 months, at my dealership
Hey Dave, wanted to get your input on the EV Tax Credit, as you definitely seem to know your stuff concerning the Bolts. Might work out to a good video if you so choose.
As you may be aware, if your tax liability is less than the $7500 tax credit, the purchaser can only have their liability reduced to zero, since the credit is currently non-refundable. For example, say someone who makes $40,000 a year only owes ~$3000 in tax liability, they can only get $3000 of the $7500 tax credit to reduce what they owe to $0. They don't get the missing $4500 back, it just gets left unused.
I've heard of dealers doing a lease option after ordering, and applying the full $7500 to the cost of the lease, as the dealer would then get the credit instead. The leasee can then have a discounted monthly rate/buyout. This isn't always an option, depending on the dealer. Alternatively, come 2024, the rules are set to change, moving the $7500 tax credit into an immediate discount/rebate off the sticker price at time-of-purchase instead.
Out of curiosity, which one would you tend to recommend to your customers? Would you suggest they eat the lost credit amount and purchase/finance, change to a lease agreement, or simply put off until 2024?
What color blue or shade of blue is that one Bolt. Very good looking . All of them are.
Ice Blue
I saw y’all had a 2008 Dodge Dakota at one point
Any news on the equinox if they are redesigning soon? Looks really good. Shocked on the number of sales per year, but MPG seems really low compared to other cars. Even the sticker I think said gas was 1700 per year
The all-new design Equinox EV is coming out soon... I wish that the non-EV version would have the same look as that! It looks great. That style is what GM should do w/ the regular gas-version too.
@@brucekalter4206 thanks! Not ready for both cars being electric yet but also keeping the odyssey for as long as possible. Maybe I’ll change my mind in 4 years. Right now the idea is Bolt for local but still keeping a larger gas car for longer trips and bigger crowd
Put some Rain-x or ceramic coating on the wipers themselves. It will help them go across the windshield better.
Interesting idea
@@DaveBsellsChevy Putting the ceramic on my wipers and the windshield made a huge difference, greatly improving driving in the rain.
The dealer I ordered my Bolt EUV Premier said that GM is making practically no Premier trims but they’re churning out LT trims, is this true? Since I’m not getting Sun and Sound or Supercruise it makes no sense to get the Premium anyway… so I’s switching my order but just wondering if that is likely to help with the wait time.
Yes, this is true. We have only had about 3 Premiers built in the last 4 months... probably about 25 LT's
lower trims = less chips.
That ZR2 is a beautiful truck. Reminds me of the TRX but cheaper.
It is really nice! I enjoyed the short trip to the gas station and back
How’s your month going ? If I could ask
It's a little slow. Have 9 sold.. 3 orders I thought would show up this month will show next month instead.
For the $7,500 tax credit does the dealership needs to provide some paperwork for the buyer?
Any news on the new colorado
I have our first sold order being built the week of Feb 13th. Nothing other than that one as of yet
Can i order one ??
Why did they ceramic coat the windshield
They basically can ceramic coat the whole car.. plastics, body panels, glass, rims, pretty much everything but tires.
Hi sir my chevrolet trailblazer 2022 is showing brake system faiilure 70 km/h top speed can you tell what is the problem ?
DB: Hopefully this is a joke by one of your friends 😂
Trading it in on a new vehicle will solve that problem.
@@patrickwhite6201 cannot trade because this is imported in dubai
@@TwilightZoneX this is not a joke sir
Take it to a mechanic, Dave is a salesperson!
Keep it simple folks, and save yourself about $850. Use a good quality regular wax, and glass wax on the windows on a 60 degree or warmer day, and the water will shed from the car just fine!! Ceramic coating is the new fancy buzz word, just like the nitrogen in the tires nonsense.
I disagree. In the last six months my car always looks clean and seems to be washed by the rain. Ive dealt with a lot of waxes on previous vehicles and never had that sort of result.
@@DaveBsellsChevy Or you could get your car professionally detailed about a dozen times for $900. Don't buy the hype.
hype...lol. Not everything is life is a scam.
I had my wife’s Mazda ceramic coated in 2019. It’s now 2023 and while starting to fade, it still has hydrophobic properties. Wax will last maybe six months if you’re lucky. The reason it can be expensive is most professional detailers will do a full paint correction prior to the coating application. You can buy and install a coating yourself if you want. I did on my Bolt EUV and it turned out great.
@@DaveBsellsChevy 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I hope everyone who has a 2022 bolt claims that tax credit😂 i got mine. Not sure if it qualified but got it. So anyone thinking they wont get it. Claim it anyways… lol
You bought in 2022? if so, doesn't qualify so keep an eye out for the IRS
@@DaveBsellsChevy thats what everyone is saying, but i think its the loop hole between enforcing new rules (as it was phased out) but the model 22 was only listed as the new rules.. so i do think theres a loop hole, but my eyes are wide open. ;)
Bolt = NO!!!!
Electric is not it, not where I live, not practical.
Hybrid is the future.
All depends on how many miles you drive daily and can you plug it in overnight where you sleep.
@@DaveBsellsChevy maybe ok for commuting but trips, for instance here in IA..... point A to B.... IMPOSSIBLE
@@pasnbyu52 well any trip more than 247 miles or so will require charging in route. 247 miles is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay above the average daily mileage driven by most people.
Like say bolt, volt both ev is not worth price to pay for it will not help you, battery cost more pay for vehicle. Just like gm push 2.7 engine since came out 2018 . But trouble with 2.7 engine time chain, fuel pump. Just reminds of chevrolet vega 2.3 engine, Northstar engines, 4,6,8 v engine, 305 engine oldsmobile v8 diesel .
Batteries are warrantied for 8 years/100,000 miles. I have owned a 2016 Volt, 2018 Volt, 2019 Bolt, and currently a 2022 Bolt and ever paid for a battery nor had any need to. Tire rotations and wiper blades is about all these cars need. Go EV and save yourself some money
I have a 2009 Pontiac G6 with 2.5 and a 2017 Cruz w 1.4 . Zero issues with either car. The quality of GM cars recently has been phenomenal. Meanwhile I know people at work who bought Hu/Kia's for the cheap price and wound up with major issues ( engine, susp, brakes ). Still people buy that junk with the warranty they won't honor. I'm GM all the way after my and coworkers experiences. Got my GM card for a break on my next one. Now if they could only increase the volume of EV's so I could buy one.
I'm always gm love vehicles for years from GMC, Buick, Oldsmobile,Pontiac and Saturn .Best engines gm ever made that 350 ,325, 3800, 5.3 engine and 6.2 engine. Bought 3 Buick, 4 GMC sierra crew cab.
Really for future reference I’ve asked multiple people and got multiple different answers
OnStar/global connect money if you leave the dealership is there anyway to get it since it takes three months it really adds up.
If the dealer keeps you in their system after you leave you should be able to transfer the funds as they accrue. If you leave one Chevy store and go to a new one you wouldn't be able to earn at the new store until you are added to their system so either way you lose three months of earnings.
@@DaveBsellsChevy I appreciate it.
