    I can see why the new Trax is selling well. It's a great looking vehicle...MUCH better looking than the previous generation (Chevy was smart to make it longer, lower, and wider), with a lot of great features for the money..

    Dave I have to disagree about the SOS button being faster for emergency help. You’re better off dialing 911 and getting the local PSAP directly vs hitting that button which connects you to an answering service who then transfers your call to the same PSAP you’d get if you had called 911 yourself in the first place. Just quicker to cut out the middle man. That being said, I will say there are some benefits to it. Their location data is often more accurate than the location data coming from cell phones and they also do have your name and vehicle information if needed for whatever the emergency might be.

    You probably were aware already or this vehicle was not equipped with it, but the Ford collision button also plays as the adaptive cruise control distance from the vehicle in front of you. It is really cool. I had the Chevy but traded it for the Buick and found out the adaptive cruise control. Will literally come to a complete halt if traffic stops and then resume what you had cruise control sit on.

    • @daytonaflyer
      @daytonaflyer 11 дней назад

      True, but it's not very good at recognizing stopped vehicles, so don't think it will keep you from running into the back of all vehicles. If you're coming up to a stop light, and you have adaptive cruise control engaged, there's a good chance it will not slow down automatically if a car is stopped in front of you.

    In Florida and especially in Miami car insurance is very expensive. Insurance for the Chevy Trax cost half as much as same 25k KIA, Hyundai, Toyota or Honda. This is part of the reason we are getting daughter in college one for Christmas. Take into account insurance cost when deciding which car to buy.

    Went to buy one yesterday. An LS. in South Carolina. MSRP was the same shown here with a 600$ discount (don’t know the reason) so 20,900$ more or less. Plus 1200$ taxes and fees. Filled out my credit application online, went through, approved. Received an email from the dealership confirming all the above, my finance costs, terms, interests rate, total cash upfront, total financed. Cool. BUT…..when I went to the dealership with my check book in hand, at the last minute, they showed me a contract with roughly 4,000$ more in it. Not included in the email they sent me the night before. They said “these are dealer’s costs and fees we have to pay to get the car here”. (it’s South Carolina, not Alaska). Stood up ready to leave, furious. Couldn’t you disclose those costs in your “Final” email? where you give me a very detailed lists of extra costs, taxes and fees? Is this normal and customary to do? to reveal the real costs just at the last minute? My last car purchase was a used one 10 years ago, so I know nothing. Please advise

    • @daytonaflyer

      They did the same to me. Tried to add $3000 worth of extra nonsense. I talked them down to $1000, but it's still a scam. All those extras are bogus and you can usually get them to get rid of most of them if you walk away.

    Dave I really like how you slow everything down and explain the vehicle in detail. I do have a question and I did not see a video from you covering this unless I overlooked it. Why does leasing seem to be a lot of the sales at Schumacher instead of financing? I live in the eastern part of Tennessee and the majority of new vehicles here are purchase instead of a lease. Is there a benefit one over the other? My wife and I have always financed and have never done a lease on a vehicle. Is there a chance that one day you could do a walk through video on the benefits between a lease deal compared to a traditional finance from the view of a customer?

    • @brianb815
      @brianb815 2 месяца назад

      Leasing is a bit of a scam, you put several thousand dollars down, make monthly payments, and give the car back, and if you're lucky, you won't get dinged for going over the allotted miles and tire wear. The counter is you're getting rid of the car before bigger/more serious maintenance issue (might) arrive.

      @@charkswitlazers You mean the E85 capability? It's in the owners manual and I caught it in the Printbook sent to dealers and available online. The E85 is a poor value because mpg usually drops enough to make the fuel cost per mile higher. Sadly, 2025 ended many of the cool colors - the Orange, Bronze, Fountain Blue and the darker Blue Glow. For 2025, there is a dark gray with a greenish tint and Marina Blue - a reboot of the 1967 Chevrolet color of the same name, and it's a bright sky blue with a slight lean toward teal. It's an awesome color in bright sunlight as long as you like blue.

    It's good to look at the past once in a while to remind me why I spent $37,080 on a brand new 2024 Model Y Long Range, the last time that Tesla had $4,500 inventory discounts on them. I just took 2 round trips of between 2,800 and 2,900 miles each, Texas Gulf Coast - Wisconsin, the second one doing 650+ miles per day with just a single night in motels in each direction. Since it's "impossible" to drive long distances in an EV, I challenge ANYONE to drive 650 miles per day in a little internal combustion Trax.

    WHAT A JOKE. Delivery day should never be "A Long Day".... NEVER. After the buyer/dealer have agreed on a price, typically the dealer needs a day to "get the vehicle ready". So on the next day, the buyer should walk in, inspect the vehicle (10-20 minutes), sign papers (5 minutes), drive off the LOT. WHY should this be a LONG process? Dealers need to adapt or die. Just go buy a Tesla or a Rivian. After ordering the vehicle online, the pickup/paperwork process is 30 minutes or less. Took over 2 hours at a Mazda dealership to sign the same papers. Unacceptable.
