    Thanks for the help sir. I've done a lot of research, and listened to quite a few owner reviews of this little SUV. I'll be ordering a new Trax for a special young lady in my life when she turns 16 next year. It will make a great vehicle for her as she continues high school, and college. I showed her the car, and she fell in love. She loves the Cacti Green. I told her if thats the color she wants it will cost more money for the higher trim level, so she needs to save money to help me pay for the car. Gives her some skin in the game, and hopefully helps her appreciate the vehicle more. I certainly don't want her to think that Grandpa will buy her everything she wants, and it won't cost her a dime.

      The Trax will be an extremely popular starter car due to the low cost & lots of safety equipment. Definitely agree with her pitching in to pay for it, so she appreciates it & takes better care. Definitely Nicer than my 1st car:)

    Appreciate your attention to detail! With 2 teen drivers I've been looking at getting rid of my Mercedes CLA 250 because of the high insurance costs, and had an "aha" moment comparing insurance premiums - there's no such thing as "just a fender bender" anymore with 360 cameras/lane changing assist/etc. features built into the fenders. Given your experience with the variety of trim levels, if you could share which features impact premiums the most, that would be super helpful. Insurance is such a major cost of ownership...

Mini has a 3 cylinder turbo and I was surprised (not buying anything in 10 years) how many cars have 3 cyl turbos now. Of course the price is not great if the dealers are adding 1.5K to 2K in markups......

    Great video! Do you think if I wait till the end of December, I can get a better deal on a 2024 Trax? I would prefer to pay 2k under MSRP and I'm paying with cash. Or should I become a Chevy salesman first so I can avail of the employee discount?

    • @winningstrategiesforturo
      @winningstrategiesforturo  11 месяцев назад +5

      Ha, I like your persistence to find a discount, however I strongly believe you will find no discounts on these for at least 18 months. Buy 1 now if you can get at MSRP. You are more likely to see Dealer markups than discounts. Then Chevy will raise the price slightly for 2025. Look at the 2022-2023-2024 Ford Mavericks as an example. Low cost new cars are too limited by manufacturers right now.

    • @SkullkraneEntertainment
      @SkullkraneEntertainment 11 месяцев назад +5

      Any new body style of a vehicle will never sell for under sticker. If you wait until the end of the body style, then you might find some deals, but anticipate paying $2k OVER sticker right now. Let us know if you do get any employee discounts on these though, but since they sell so fast, I'm unsure if a dealer would go any less than sticker for a new hire. Hope this helps.

    Test drove 2rs. Don't like having no rear armrest and door panels and dash covered in hard plastic,also don't care for cheap torsion bar in rear. That is major handling issue. Also detected some hesitation on acceleration. Would go with corolla LE or SE for for reliability and resale value.

      I don't disagree with your assessment. Trax gives you more tech, options, & style for the price. It's weakness is some clear cost savings on ride quality & potential longterm reliability. With toyotas finally starting to be more available without markups, it could be worth paying up as you know what you are getting. New Trax will hold value well for the next 2-3 yrs. Toyota better after that.

    For the price many features are awesome.
    The wet timing belts in these motors are a tremendous red flag. 🚩. The main advantage is quiet operation, but the downsides are huge and the replacement is a nightmare. These engines have two timing belts, one for the oil pump to crank, the other obviously for valvetrain, etc.
    Please take a very expensive repair into consideration before the 150k. The wet belts don’t last very long.
    I like them, they are a money maker for sure. But as a consumer, heck no.

    Gotta ask,
    How are these going to hold up any differently than the previous gen?
    Working in an autoparts store, I see alot of request for brakes, shift linkages (really not the only model with that issue) ignition parts (key lock cylinders mostly)...and those are the ones i can remember. I get that all cars require maintenance. But it seems for every query for a ford part, I get 2 or 3 queries for chevy parts. (dont get me started on nissan and kia, I dont know how their cars pass QA)
    I do gotta add that im not some ford fanboy. I just dont think this era belongs to chevy. Every decade or so the coin tosses and changes are made.
    The 80s belonged to chevy, ford seems to be the face of the 90s, then back again in the 00s with chevy ( i have a soft spot for the 1500s), but the 10s tho..have been weird. Ford absolutely shit the bed with their powershifts (All my coworkers call them power-shits) And their v6 eco boosts are ageing....poorly to say the least.

      This is a big question mark. But parts should be low cost as Chevy is gonna sell alot of these.

      Hey Zero... I'm on the fence pertaining to buying a 2016 jeep grand Cherokee limited with only 41k miles and it was a one owner car from my home town. Man I'm torn in a bad way from the stories I've heard (on line). Some ppl act like they're great vehicles, others would rather take a beebee to their big toe every day the rest of their life. Ha! Just curious in your opinion. Hope ya got life in a headlock man. Be well.

      Tbh They are ok to lease out, but to own? All I been hearing lately is lots of regrets. The 6 cylinder is...anemic at best (I mean the engine has good power for a sedan, not for a big SUV with the drag coefficiency of a brick. At my last job we had a guy order an engine when his threw a rod a 110k. @@arai4176 Im assuming thats what in the GC and not a boosted 4 cylinder. If that's the case. Run, and dont look back. (Comments are showing up kinda funky for me)

    Nothing about the lousy Powertrain? At least it's a real transmission-but no AWD,no backseat armrest/cupholders(please- really?)

      It's Chevy's cheapest vehicle. They want people to pay up for the Trailblazer If they need AWD.

      Are you sure you do not have an LS? All LT I have been looking at have the keyless entry

    • @alainaswain4348
      @alainaswain4348 5 месяцев назад +1

      I have the LT. It is keyless entry, and has the buttons on the doors.I also payed a little bit more for the heated seat and heated steering wheel package. Best decision ever. Having a warm seat and not have to grip an ice cold steering wheel on a cold winter morning is great.

      I agree! nothing worse than grabbing an ice cold steering wheel... well I guess there are a few things worse.

    • @winningstrategiesforturo
      @winningstrategiesforturo  5 месяцев назад

      It's possible it could come with the convenience package, but I did think it was standard on the LT as every one I've seen has it.
