    I was an alcoholic for over 25 years. Got to a point where I hit rock bottom. I got up to 225 lbs (At 5’9) which is ridiculously overweight. Felt like crap all the time and my doctor said my liver was taking a beating. I have been sober for 6 years and been on a consistent diet and training schedule for the last 5 years. I’m down to 145 LBS, feel amazing, and my same doctor was astounded at how healthy I am now. The liver does regenerate but most people push the envelope to the point of no return.

    Im 42 and been a drinker since around 20 years old. On average id drink 2-4 days a week with a ocassional week off here and there. Id drink 18-30 beers or 3/4 of a 1.75 liter of vodka in a day myself. Last 6 months i been having soreness and pain in my right side rib area that travels to my mid back. Went to hospital and had blood & urine test done along with a xray but they found nothing. I been struggling to stop my drinking. Longest i went was 7 weeks sober. I drank a few times since this pain started but currently now back on the sober wagon. Its been 6 days without alcohol. But i still have these pains and soreness. My dad had cancer and the doctor told him he needed to cut back in drinking. He probably could have been diagnosed sooner had the doctor ran other labs after my dad said he didn't drink. This is also why family members should be allowed on doc visits. Get someone who listens to you, a lot of docs don't and you can't always get recommendations to the best doctors.

      Same I drank straight vodka since like 2015.. got real bad the past couple years I switched to 60's.. one time I finished 3 60's in like 4 days.. I'm slowly getting off alcohol though cause I care more for my kids, and my health. If you die from alcohol it's a form of suicide, and in God's eyes suicides only go one way.. and that's down. From what I hear anyways and I'm Christian, well.. brought up from believers anyways.. And also I'm starting not to like the feeling anymore the hangovers especially. But when I start drinking I don't like the feeling of falling over, or making bad decisions, or just making me sleep right away.. think about the good things in life. Sober wise, like being able to go for walks, going to the fair, going to the cities activities they got going on, going out to eat good food, meeting new people and interacting with outdoor things, seeing families have a good time and them seeing you and waving and smiling, but to enjoy these things soberly. If your drunk these people wills see it and downgrade you, or judge you, trust me doing it sober is soooo much better. Even s*x, or watching a movie with your gf/bf.. you can't watch movies drunk right? Sober is better feeling doing these things. And than going to bed sober feeling safe, not dizzy, sick and tired and feeling your body deteriorating.. we are only human and we want to live as long as we can. Life is long but it's also short. Enjoy it, God made you for a reason.. embrace it be grateful. Get out there and do what you need to do.. live.. laugh.. and most importantly LOVE! 😊❤️🙏🙏 hope this helps. Cause me too I'm struggling but I'm slowly quitting 🙂

    My liver could be a great reference point for damage after x years of drinking- because the amount and type of alcohol I’ve consumed on a daily basis has been extremely consistent since age 21. I know it would technically just be a case study, but I’d be curious how I stack up to a fellow 28 year old female who (instead of my loyalty to corona) drank hard liquor or red wine consistently since age 21.

    It depends first off , because there way to many medications that cause liver damage also in young adults such as Birth Control Pills. Alcohol is always the first to come up because Doctors don't want to jeopardize medications and how people would react to them if prescribed to them. It's a business !!

    Ironically I do not grind alcohol in great quantities, only a glass of red wine when I go out for a nice dinner. However, I was diagnosed with non alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver! Now what?

    • @tomlyon3273
      @tomlyon3273 2 месяца назад

      That could be due to various reasons. High iron storage known as haemochromatosis, you can get tested to rule it out. High carbohydrates in the diet over many years. Certain medications especially higher use of acetaminophen. Genetic disorders. You should be referred to a liver / hepatic specialist.

    what about 1cm scar on liver 🤔 I know a person who had the weakest strain of hep c ,there's 6 strains of that disease, but they were very fortunate to get a medication 💊 that got rid of hep c and now they have annuities to hep c but the person still uses recreational drugs once a week. how long will they live

      Your liver is enlarged. I have the same thing atm, can get quiet painful. I also get cottonmouth in my sleep alot. Best thing you can do is get your blood work done and an ultrasound, it's scary but you won't regret it.
      Hope this help mate

    My liver is inflamed and causing pain. No other symptoms except stool is lighter than normal. I see my doctor in 2 days. Right now I'm drinking lightly cooked pureed broccoli, brussel sprouts, beets, tomatoes, cauliflower with ginger, garlic, turmeric, olive oil, pepper. Also, milk thistle with dandelion tea, grapefruit and enough water. Anything else? Please advise. A little scared. No excercise because of back injury, 5'8" 178 lbs. Just stopped all sugar, but might be too late!

      @@Kevin_Yagoonie Thanks for asking. Pain has disappeared and considering doing that flush. Heard good and not so good things about it. Doctor really didn't say much just let her know when and she would do it. No info on procedure except it's her favorite surgery to do!? The ultrasound's radiologist stated to many to count along with sludge? Thought it would have been nice if surgeon gave me more info on procedure and any alternatives since I didn't know what questions to ask. Happened so quickly didn't have time to reseach before seeing her.

    Why do American doctors dress like lab technicians?

    • @Beserious795
      @Beserious795 10 месяцев назад

      Most doctors in the U.S. wear lab coats, at least while they are seeing patients. Often their name and title is embroidered on it. Interestingly, at teaching hospitals the length of the lab coat can differentiate where they are in their training. 🤗 Your fun fact of the day. 🎉
