This time I ate before watching. Ha!
you're a genius! I should've done the same
Bruuba 😁😁
I came here thinking the chef would be some tough Boston guy called "dawg"... But it's literally a dog and a chef. Wtf.
WHY DO I TORTURE MYSELF LIKE THIS?
*Dies of hunger*
Oye S. thank goodness im not the only one T.T
Same😭
Oye S. same soo hungry
+Oye S. rip
omg I just needed to grab snacks or I would have died of hunger
Her face when she got done was so cute! She looked so excited to finally eat it. It looks so tasty.
After many years, I finally made one for myself. Admittedly substituting for ingredients I didn’t have, but it’s SOOOO delicious. 🤤
Dried bonito flakes are also called Katsuobushi, Kezuribushi or Hanakatsuo. Toast the bonito flakes first so that you can easily crumble into pieces :)
Does anyone notice that there's always this music that comes up when things are getting excited or cooked
+joy tang That's "Minutes Waltz" of Federick Chopin
Thank you!
Your username is the answere
I am watching this at 3:30AM there is nowhere to get this food at this time 😱 Haunting! It looks so good!
lol same here Idk why I torture myself like this
Same its 2am and im so high, i just want some food!!! Pls send help!
+The WaffleTaco420 lmao I made this comment a month ago but just now I saw this response because I'm high too and checking all my notifications seemed like the right thing to do and NOW IM HUNGRY AHAIN FUCK
Ashley Hazlehurst
LOL Dude wtf Its 1:30am and im brought back here again! Its an endless cycle, we are doomed forever to get hungry in this comment section. I usually just get more high and then i forget tho hahaa
3:50 a.m. for me!
This video is a good demonstration of just how skilled this woman is in the kitchen.
The dog, the narration, and the food together is priceless
This video was the coolest to watch Chef make. And the smile and giggle she makes when its ready to serve! My heart melted
"Okonomi Sauce" is okonomiyaki sauce sold by the company, Otafuku Sauce :) You can find it on amazon US.
4:44 her small chuckle is brightening my day
Cake flour is different from all purpose flour. It is thinner than all purpose flour and produces a more soft and tender texture, which makes it great for cakes and baked goods. You can substitute cake flour with all purpose flour by using 1 cup of all purpose flour minus 2 tablespoons for 1 cup of cake flour :)
4:40 is like watching the dismount at end of a gymnastics routine. So good!
It gets better and better with each flip. :3
The pride sparkles in the Chef's eyes when she finishes. Awesome job!
Ikaten (deep-fried dried squid coated with batter) is optional. There is a store called "Super Oriental" in Mexico City and you might find the okonomiyaki sauce there :)
I love how she smiled in the end without saying anything like usual; it made the whole thing yummy.
I appreciate how easy and simply this seems...minimum ingredients, well-prepared, and nutritious. I would like to study with Chef. And yes, she is a Chef.
After being in Hiroshima and eating this every day, this is the most authentic recipe ive seen!
She uses otafuku okonomiyaki sauce!!! I feel so legit right now since that's the one I bought without even knowing that people in Japan use the same brand!
Bro it's like Heinz of Okonomiyaki sauce, you're not "legit", it's just the most common and popular brand sold everywhere
jstyledipset Why do you have to ruin his happiness? Because your jealous? Unhappy with your own sad life? Or...? No girlfriend? She leave you? Not a suprise. "Bro"
Lyle :D
Man that escalated quickly
Lol, I feel like I just stepped into a room where people have been arguing 😅
This is without doubt the best recipe of Cooking with Dog, I don't know how many times I've seen this
Honestly, I'm just here for the dog. The food is a nice touch though. A+
Basically the same with me
Ok, I am a big gamer and I love a lot of different things, I follow the most viral channels on the planet with the best and funniest stuff.
I can truly say that this is and has been from the start, my favorite channel of all time. It's so awesome!
Thank you Francis and cheff!!
I love how Hiroshima okonomiyaki is hardly about the pancake at all! Looks amazing and I will be visiting Hiroshima when I visit Japan next year, so will make sure I have an appetite!
I really miss Hiroshima. I wish I could go back there again someday. One of my favorite place on earth.
This is looks unbelievable I'm moving to japan
i wish i could get chef a big hug when she smiles
"gather the scattered vegetables"... do you mean the ones off of the floor? because if i attempted that... thats where most of it would be LOL
Her face, when the light turned off at the end, priceless! She's such a wonderful woman
I want okonomiyaki right now.....
I'm moving out of my home soon and this channel is pretty much my entire dinner plan for the next year.
This video is 10 year old but it's still my go-to for when I make my own okonomiyaki at home! :)
I did it! It turned out great - my mother who isn't that much of a japanese cuisine fan loved it! It obviously didn't look as beautiful as Chef's, but the taste was great. Thank you!
You are so it's at the end when you smile and savour the food! This looks so hard to make though, I know for sure when I flip it most of the ingredients (cabbage & noodles) will go flying everywhere but inside the pan ;_;
The construction is just as impressive as the final dish.
You can use all-purpose flour since Hiroshima okonomiyaki use less flour than other types of okonomiyaki :)
she is so adorable at the end! this is the craziest meal I have ever seen!
My anxiety increases tenfold everytime she flips it
The chef looks so happy and satisfied right after she finished cooking the okonomiyaki
I just made this for my wife and I, and have to say, we are both very impressed!
**Edit** flipping them over is not as easy as it looks!!
Why do I friggin' watch videos like this late at night? Now I'm starving because that looks absolutely delicious. Ugh.
I really, really want to try this.
then make it it's easier than it looks, just put a plate on top of it to flip it over, because chef here makes it look easy
Dragonwing16 I'll try hahaha
Her flipping skills are amazing. Chef knows she's awesome.
Hiroshima, Osaka and Kyoto all have different style of Okonomiyaki... which is interesting.
This just became my favorite channel ever and it's not even close
this looks so yummy! And seems to take such skill to make. If I made it I'd have noodles all over my kitchen :(
*****
your sweet reply and positive attitude inspired me to at least try :)
This is the first time l really consider buying one if those pancake machines!
Foooood.... Ugh there's no way I can make this Q~Q I'm missing everything except salt, sugar, pepper, and water!!!
Also cuz I dun got dem skills dog (tryin to make a joke)
Chef is really happy that she made this meal.
i just finished eating Okonomiyaki made by me , its great !1
I love how Francis gets hopeful about getting a bite! Looks amazing!
I want to know how they came up with okonomiyaki. Was someone sitting there and thought, let's take a sandwich but make it better.
pat_snow08 okonomiyaki was invented during food shortages in Japan during World War 2, the dish makes a good use of the flour that was scarce as well as vegetables, of which some such as cabbage were easier to get ahold of.
In my mind I call this the Atom Bomb Okonomiyaki. That’s why its called Hiroshima O. All people had was mostly veggies and flour. Mainly cabbage. So they came up with this recipe. No meat. Just a pancake with veggies on top. I am not sure if noodles were in the original recipe or not. I love the way its made and the layering and the two special O. Spatulas. I think it was in fact some moms who looked at their cabbage and flour and thought how do i make this interesting for my family. Whenever i make this because of its history i always say a prayer of apology for the suffering caused.
Drunk food.
Fried everything pizza
@@preeta8275 it's just called Hiroshima okonomiyaki because this version of okonomiyaki adds Hiroshima noodles.
So it's okonomiyaki that became a speciality served in Hiroshima.
It's not because the only thing you've ever heard of this city was when it was bombed mean that all of its history.
It's existed long before and had been rebuilt, this has litteraly nothing to do with the bombing.
Don't just make up your narrative out of impressions and present them or spread false facts.
Also to add, the original okonomiyaki is made of mainly cabbage too and few meat, It's was a Poor's dish to start wish, litteraly the only difference is the noodles.
She is adorable! So dainty and cute! LOVE THE SHOW!
RIP Francis
the poodle doggie makes a great co-host! sits so patiently on camera. very good video!
Am I the only one quietly crying inside because America doesn't have this? That's it, looks like I'm moving to Japan.
KawaiiQT actually some sushi places make these, my local sushi place makes it every Saturday.
You can look for Japanese restaurant that serve ramen. The one that I go to just now recently serves okonomiyaki.
I love how she takes so much pride in her cooking!
Poor Francis, it looks really hungry hahaha 5:03
You are the best chef I have ever seen. I can't describe how much you make me feel warm every time I watch your videos. Especially it made me smile all over my face when the chef giggled in this video :-). Your recipe doesn't just fill my tummy but also my soul. Always thank you for amazing recipes and warmth..!
Im eating white rice and I have no meat or anything to put in it,.. Im just staring at this video like, "meat meat meat 0_0" lol
This is easily something you could make using ingredients bought from any supermarket. Thanks!
I wanted to make this since watching Kuroko No Basket!
True XD
Since Ramen 1/2 for me!
She genuinely makes me happy
I tried this with pancake mix, BBQ sauce and turkey bacon... and steamed seafood... and ramen. I thought it was pretty good, but I'mma make it as authentic as possible this time... with wide spatulas this time.
I can foresee things flying everywhere and falling apart if I tried making this, but it looks so amazingly delicious
When she pours the batter... I almost died of trypophobia lol
Passion, talent and skills are hard to beat and to preserve.Thank you very much for your precious work.
I love okonomiyaki. Hiroshima-style, of course. But in videos dealing with it, annoying foreigners post a lot of jokes in English that insult the victims of the Japanese atomic bomb.I hope that uploader and sensible people will not leave them unattended and report them to youtube operators.
Thank you for your caring comment.💕 Glad to hear you like Hiroshima Okonomiyaki!😋
i've been searching for a good okonomiyaki recipe and I think this is the best one so far...even without the noodles.
Because of you guys, I became better at cooking. You guys are so awesome!
Angelique what is that because you know I can't pronounce that?
My jegus you need help.
I know.
Chef flipped that okonomiyaki like a PRO. I would have made such a mess! Thanks for all the delicious recipes! Much love!

Watching this makes me want okonomiyaki again...I had it on Miyajima Island and it was beautifully fantastic..
Did someone turn the lights off at the end?
I have to say that this is probably the most delicious looking thing on this channel.
I'm in that weird part of RUclips, except it's food and I'm poor.
made this in my japanese class freshman year of high school. still my fav dish
Now that food from the anime Ranma 1/2 hahahah
Lol either we were born in the same era or you watched inuyasha...Which in turn made you want to watch/read another Rumiko Takahashi anime/manga.
anjjy Kandy
Inuyasha is also OP
Seriously. I admire the strength.
Is the dog the one who is commentating in this video?
yes :D
Haha... the light going off... I really enjoy the bloopers at the end of the videos.
looks really good but pork turns me off
Leave
Patrick Choi no thx
mrgenius4 Goodbye
it looks really good to me too, but the person i want to make it for is allergic to pork
***** you can actually omit or substitute seafood ie shrimp or squid
What I like about japanese cooking is that each areas in japan has their own version of the food. Ramen, curry, okonomiyaki..its really cool.
same thing with almost any other country
You've obviously have never eaten a Italian Cecilian pizza, or a Philly cheese steak,..
from where I came from, we don't really have this much diversity. Or at least we have, but not really something note worthy or something that you would come back to the region just to taste it. I'm talking from that perspective just to clear things
Exactly, if you want a Philly cheese steak, you go to the Philly part of P.A. If you want a Sicilian pizza, you go to Sicily in Italy. My example still applies.
Zachery Hackman i dont think that's what he/she is implying.......
This looks AMAZING. Chef is so cool; so much dexterity with her cooking.
That smile at the end never gets old!
man i can't stop coming back to this video those noodles look delicious
ahh the memories I used to watch their videos all the time in middle school :)
Just made this, tastes delicious! I am no cook by any means but it actually flips without falling apart like the video!
I used an 89 cent package of Sapporo Ichiban chow mein noodles bought from my local Smiths. Looks just like what the chef used. I Just cooked the noodles based on the directions and didn't use the spice packet. Worked great.
I made this yesterday with bacon and surimi sticks. Delicious and easier than you think!
Me and my dad made this recipe together a few times. It is delicious with a soft and custard-like center. We found Okonomi sauce at a nearby H-Mart.
I was looking for a recipe for this, and I was really happy to see that you had made one! I will use this recipe to cook Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki for my husband from Yamaguchi when we move out of Japan.
What I like best about this recipe is that the ingredients used are not too rare in my area. Once again I am afforded the opportunity to impress my guests, all thanks to Chef and Francis!
I love Francis' reaction at 5:04. So cuteeee~!!
Francis licked his mouth when the cook was eating hahaha luv it😂😂😂 so cutee
That's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life.
you can feel her attainment of making a great okonomiyaki.
Best Okonomiyaki recepie video i have seen so far.
Wow, thank you! Gad you like our Hiroshima Okonomiyaki video!😍
AWWW~ at 4:41, the chef looked so proud of her creation!! :D
