"Hiroshima or Osaka Okonomiyaki" is one of the never ending argument in Japan, like "coke or Pepsi." As a Japanese, I recommend, no matter which one you like, you should not tell Osaka locals that you prefer Hiroshima style better, and don't tell people from Hiroshima prefecture that you love Osaka style better. It can hurt their feelings very badly. lol Thanks for interesting video!
I’ll have to have this conversation with my folks. I’m born and raised in NY, but my mom is from Osaka and dad is from Hiroshima. Best of both worlds! Thanks for the video 😀
I just got back from a month in Japan, and on my last day my host mother taught me how to make Hiroshima Okonomiayi, what came to be my favorite food. She cooked the first one to show me how to make it, then I made the next 2 or 3 and fed the whole family. My host parents were impressed that I knew to eat it with a spatula, and they even gave me the spatula, which has the Hiroshima Carp mascot on it, as a gift to take back to the US. After dinner, the whole family walked me to the train station, and from afar watched me board the train. I had to hold back tears for the entire train ride until I got to the business hotel where I was staying for the night until my flight in the morning, where I could finally let it all out. Thank you, John, for introducing me to Okonomiayi in your videos, and inspiring me to go to Japan and have the greatest time of my life becoming a member of a Japanese family.
I like both Osaka-style and Hiroshima-style! I use Osaka style when I want to enjoy various mixed dough and Hiroshima style when I want to enjoy cabbage as cabbage.
Yeah that is a huge advantage. Hiroshimayaki is generally a "restaurant food" since it needs skill to make one, and teppan is a must. Whereas Osaka okonomiyaki is a household soul food that anyone can make at home in a frying pan.
This is the case for me as well. Although I've made so many Osaka Okonomiyakis at home that when I'm out at a restaurant, I prefer to get Hiroshima Okonomiyaki because it's more different than what I usually eat.
Had my first okonomiyaki in Hiroshima and it was just amazing. Tried two more a few days later of my trip in Osaka and gotta say Hiroshima is the winner for me. As its said in the video I feel like you can taste the ingredients more. You can taste the cabage, the noodles the sauce. Goes well together. Whereas in the Osaka one I couldnt really taste the cabbage in my opinion. The best way to enjoy it however no matter whether Osaka or Hiroshima is with the Mayo. That just brings it to another level!
Which one do you prefer? Let me know below? Notes: (1) Okonomiyaki is not vegan friendly but it may be vegetarian friendly. Osaka version does contain Dashi (fish soup stock) but Hiroshima’s version seems okay. Please ask each shop as they use different ingredients (2) Should it be considered a Japanese pancake or a Japanese pizza? - or neither? What’s your take? Thanks you for the feedback!
The batter itself contains both eggs AND dashi... and dashi nearly always contains broth made from katsuobushi (dried tuna.) So unless you are an ovo lacto vegetarian and or Pescatarian chances are either version of Okonomiyaki may not fit into the dietary restrictions of some vegetarians. Dashi is nearly synonymous with Japanese cooking and in the majority of recipes are made from katsuobushi. There are some exceptions where dashi may be made without it, but that is rarely the case. I think there is often some confusion by the Japanese, where the lack of a meat presence makes food "vegetarian" and they don't consider the dashi to be a source of meat. So a vegetarian may unknowingly consume food that was prepared with meat unless you ask specific questions. Even a bowl of boiled vegetables may look innocent enough but was often prepared with dashi made from tuna. (reposting this seeing as someone flagged my comment as inappropriate in retaliation of vegetarian discussion?)
Nosh Abroad not all batter contains it despite what you read on the internet. I don’t believe there is dashi in the Hiroshima Okonomiyaki (it’s just flour) and I make a point to mention that each shop makes their own batter in their own way with secret ingredients. (You can ask NOT to have the layer of pancake with Hiroshima Okonomiyaki if you choose.) It’s a highly regional and “as you like” dish. There is halal Okonomiyaki, vegan Okonomiyaki, desert Okonomiyaki - but all vegans should ask when in Japan. Note: there’s halal ramen, vegan ramen etc too :)
@ONLY in JAPAN I was taught by my friend Azumi from Hiroshima.. so it probably just comes down to the individual shop, family recipe. I am no expert at Halal traditions but my understanding is skipjack (used to make katsuobushi) and eggs are Halal friendly.
I have seen this dish made in several different ways. My favorite was a little hole in the wall place and they make it in front of you, has eggs, octopus, pork, batter, sauce, mayo, veggies and noodle. This is my favorite variant of it and excited to try it in Feb. next year when I visit.
I like the Osaka style better! The combination btw mayo and okonomi sauce is surprisingly good when you first try it and it only becomes a growing love 😍😋
Neil P in my opinion, it tastes a little sweeter and has a different tangyness than for example the heinz real mayo. I have tried making okonomiyaki with just regular mayo but the japanese one (kewpie) just hits the spot. Also its better to mimic that egg sandwich from the convenience store, but not really my choice when it comes to spreading it for my ham n cheese sandwiches. It is worth going out of the way to get it specially if you are making takoyaki or okonomiyaki. Hope it helps! 😉
I tried an AMAZING okonomiyaki in Osaka, before I even really knew what okonomiyaki was. When I got home I tried to research which one it actually is and I think it was a mix of both. The guy mixed noodles, cabbage and batter altogether, fried it with the pork on top and then topped it with the mayo and sauce. It was heavenly, I just can't recreate it.
Couldn't choose, both look amazing. Hiroshima style looks more filling while Osaka style looks very classic and I'm sure both are exceptionally savory. Nice vid.
I went to Japan in 15 and enjoyed Okonomiyaki so much I learned how to make it. I encountered it in Kyoto which was more of a Osaka style, so that is what I tend to make. I canoe a lot and it has become a staple camp food using the fish we catch as the meat in it. Often for breakfast - bacon and left over fish (if there is any) are used. Great food, filling and so easy to make.
I live in Hiroshima and everytime I eat authentic okonomiyaki I can never finish the whole thing. It’s so good but very huge! 😂 I’ve never tried the Osaka version but I’m sure it will never beat the Hiroshima one. Layers over pancake any day! 😁
I loved to eat the authentic Okonomiyaki, when I was in Japan. I had tried both Osaka style and Hiroshima style. I liked the Hiroshima style better than Osaka style that Hiroshima style as like a pile of pancake with layers of different food! The Osaka style is less likely to my personal taste!
When I was in Japan I tried okonomiyaki in every single place we visited. I got so addicted. I had it as a street food and in restaurants. I was never disappointed. When I came back home I started making it and I seem to do it differently every time...depending on what I have on hand. There are so many videos on how to make okonomiyaki I encourage you to try. It’s so easy. It’s also a quick meal on those nights when you are rushed. I also sometimes eat it cold for lunch. :)
Hey guys ! Okonomiyaki is always super good, especially when its home made, every family add their personnal ingredient :) I will say Osaka's one is better, because it was the first one for me, and it was the first meal that i had with a girl... and she became my wife :)
your opening music never fails to relax me. it's like im entering a spa. And true enouggh, watching your videos are relaxing, entertaining and educating. Thank you for putting these quality videos. 👏👏👏 I'm part of your channel's notif squad :)
Hiroshima style! I went to Shin Chan as well, and tried a really good variant: instead of soba, go with udon, oysters, and cheese. Gives it both crispy and chewy layers 🤤
Hiroshima style for me. Okonomi-mura is heaven! BTW. there are other styles: Tokyo-style is actually called "monja-yaki". There's a Hamamatsu style with takuwan in it.
Tbh, I like both Osaka and Hiroshima version. Okonomiyaki are one my favorite food to eat. It's convenient that I'm having some okonomiyaki for my lunch tomorrow. Thanks to my mom for making it for me :)
I LOVE both, but find myself craving Hiroshima style more often. Though that's because it's easier to replicate the Osaka style at home. Your previous video has encouraged me to try making Hiroshima style okonomiyaki! I just need to find a day when I'm willing to do all the prep work.
Well, making the Osaka style is easier to make at home because the ingredients are all mixed. Hiroshima style is a bit more difficult to make it at home because you need to flip it constantly to add the layers.
I've been making my own okonomiyaki at home for something like thirty years; my wife and I are big okonomiyaki fans (to the point that we have engraved souvenir spatulas from Otafuku's okonomiyaki museum in Hiroshima in the Wood Egg). I started with Osaka-style, because that was the only recipe I could find back in the 1990s, but over the years, my wife and I have found our tastes changing, and for the last ten or fifteen years we have been devoted Hiroshima-style fans.
Hey just wanted to thank you and Kevin for this episode! I arrived in Osaka yesterday and am sitting in Okinomiyaki Chiyo right now! The meal was incredible and I will not forget it!
Haha, so funny to find this video-loved it! My wife is Japanese and her best friend from Chiba visited us in the U.S. last week. We were eating dinner (lobster btw) and this topic came up. My wife said she likes the Hiroshima okonomiyaki best and her best friend liked the Osaka okonomiyaki best. I guess the debate rages on!
I have to agree with you John. The Hiroshima one seems more appetizing especially with the noodles and other layers. That part puts it over the top as the winner! Hopefully I will be able to try it one day :) Hope you have a great time on your honeymoon!
I just found this video because I've been looking for the way the only authentic Japanese restaurant we had here made their okonomiyaki (they sadly closed down after the 10 years) and I remembered all their ingredients but never knew how to make it 😭 bless you.
I prefer Osaka because it’s not too dense from the noodles, and I enjoy that the ingredients are mixed together so you can always taste everything. Also, Japanese mayonnaise and bonito are a combination I can never get enough of.
Okonomiyaki always reminds me of the bbq "battle" in the states. I've had both and the clear winner for me is HIROSHIMA!!! But I gotta tell ya, it's not just the flavor, it's the presentation. The guys who made ours did a "call and response" routine throughout our meal and they were great. It made the meal more enjoyable.
Had okonomiyaki at Sakuratei in Shibuya for the first time last March. We were so jetlagged and tired, had no idea we had to make it ourselves and it was kind of intimidating! It was so good we went back the next day and taught another foreign couple the ways of the grill lol. Absolutely cannot wait to go back and do it all over again.
Osaka for me, but that's because the styles I've had at places on the West Coast all seem to be more inline with that style and I've never had the noodle heavy Hiroshima style. SOMEDAY!
Firstly I can't thank you enoguh for this channel. My dream is to visit Japan and it's culture as a whole, seeing all the different aspects and regions. From watching, I think the Osaka would be my flavor of choice because most of what I have seen as far as videos of Okonomiyaki have been in that mixed style. But I want to try both, experience it all, and just immerse myself in the culture of Japan. Your channel does a lot for fueling that fire.
I totally love these videos. And because of the fact I also love Japan and its culture and of course Japanese food, so this channel is by far one of the best ones on RUclips. Keep up the good work!
John. Your show has become a bit of a comfort show to me. When life is hard I watch Only In Japan. And daydream about moving there myself. Could you do something about Miyamoto Musashi? Thanks, keep up the good work!
I love Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki ... it's by far my favourite. Especially from the place where you showed how it is made ... been there several times ... yum!
Osaka style okonomiyaki has yakisobanoodle, too. It's called a modern-yaki. (cos. it was very modern for the people at the time. lol) If they have a teppan counter table,I recommend you to have a seat there. It's the best place to feel the atmosphere of the restaurants. Especially, sushi, okonomiyaki, yakitori restaurants.
Hubby and I love the Hiroshima style !we like the layers !his first time tasting the Hiroshima style ,he was pretty impressed, indeed a true soul food !
It's settled, we need to travel to Japan in the name of science to decide which one is better! As an initial step, I highly recommend trying Kevin's recipe to make our own Okonomiyaki... Check it out at Kuma's kitchen channel! Great episode John :-)
Went a few years ago for 16 days, and had the dish in both Osaka and Hiroshima. I love the Hiroshima style, though I had fish flakes and mayonnaise on my okonomiyaki in Hiroshima, so it was like the best of both worlds. The cabbage was in the batter like Osaka, but it stlll had all the layers. It was like the two styles were combined. Hiroshima is an amazing city, and should be on your "must see" list. One of my favorite places, along with Kyoto, Shibuya, and Kamakura.
I tried doing my first Okonomiyaki but I did it in Osaka Style....I liked to mix the ingredients together into the batter and just place on a large square pan...and I certainly don't mind the wait I did however used instant cooked ramen noodles one with the noodles and one without the noodles but I softened it with cabbages, cuz its what I like the sauce I just mixed bbq sauce with light soy sauce added with balsamic drizzle and of course mayo...it came out to perfection and I used the ingredients of what I have here in Southern California ...two different okonomiyakis but same Osaka style one with noodles and one without but they both came out with BOMBing taste of deliciousness!!!!! YUMMY
I had Okonomiyaki for the first time in Hiroshima so that's my favorite, but the only places around me stateside that have it serve Osaka style. While it's good, it just isn't the same; I loved the layers of Hiroshima style!
I've recently begun making Okonomiyaki at home. It's taken me several trips to different Asian markets to get all the ingredients I need, but it was certainly worth the fuss. Yesterday, I made Osaka style Okonomiyaki with pork belly and fresh shrimp, and it was divine. My next attempt will be to make Hiroshima style. To be honest about it, I do not expect one to be better than the other. I already know they will be different. One thing I can say without any doubts, is that Okonomiyaki is one of my new favorite ways to eat cabbage, no matter which style you choose. My only regret is that I could not find my favorite Japanese beer, ( Asahi "Dry"), and had to settle for a Sapporo. The takeaway here is that no matter which way you go, your taste buds are in for a treat.
Myself when wondering what to eat : How bout both style? Make the osaka style first, then add some more cabbage and moyashi (not too much like hiroshima style) then pour some batter more and some okonomiyaki sauce (cover a bit), then make another layer of noodle and egg like hiroshima style, then finish with thin crepes like layer. I think I like this more. I can get the crunchiness of the crepes and the first batter while still get the quite crunchiness texture of cabage and moyashi, meanwhile I still get the soft and piping hot of the 3/4cooked first batter. . But of course, finish it with okonomiyaki sauce, katsuobushi, nori flakes, and japanese mayo. I call this hungryman style
"Hiroshima or Osaka Okonomiyaki" is one of the never ending argument in Japan, like "coke or Pepsi."
As a Japanese, I recommend, no matter which one you like, you should not tell Osaka locals that you prefer Hiroshima style better, and don't tell people from Hiroshima prefecture that you love Osaka style better.
It can hurt their feelings very badly. lol
Thanks for interesting video!
S春香 it’s really like that, exactly! HAHA!! Never say you like the other one ☝︎ very true! You may cause a riot! A lot of pride in the food!
Just like Yankees and Red sox or Yomiuri Giants and Hanshin Tigers.
I find it weird that peoples feelings get hurt because of pancake.
So true
osaka still best coke too
The best okonomiyaki is whatever type happens to be in front of you!
I concur! I can eat it almost any style
Yeeees ur so right
Hiroshima is the best but I am biased for sue as from the south of Kyushu
That part🫵🏿🙌🏿😫
You win either way! 😋
I’ll have to have this conversation with my folks. I’m born and raised in NY, but my mom is from Osaka and dad is from Hiroshima. Best of both worlds! Thanks for the video 😀
what did they say? which one do they find the best to be?
That's thin ice my friend 🤣
Osaka for lif
@@pokeaishI wanna know too
When eating out: Hiroshima style
When home cooking: Osaka Style
Yes!
I'm Japanese☺️
What did they add on top of the batter and bacon? Peanuts?
Mix noodles into Osaka style, and it's perfect.
@@kapachangos 1 year and no helpful answer, that's just sad! They put tenkasu in (they are tempura scraps). Hope this helps!
Hiroshima style is hard to make especially for beginners.
Osaka style, I made it good for 3 attempts
I just got back from a month in Japan, and on my last day my host mother taught me how to make Hiroshima Okonomiayi, what came to be my favorite food. She cooked the first one to show me how to make it, then I made the next 2 or 3 and fed the whole family. Thank you, John, for introducing me to Okonomiayi in your videos, and inspiring me to go to Japan and have the greatest time of my life becoming a member of a Japanese family.
What an awesome story! Thanks so much for sharing.

I’m waiting for you in Japan.

Truuu lol
I prefer hiroshima, its like a backpack full of things in one go. Osaka is boring
This is the case for me as well. Although I've made so many Osaka Okonomiyakis at home that when I'm out at a restaurant, I prefer to get Hiroshima Okonomiyaki because it's more different than what I usually eat.
Same

When i think Okonomiyaki i picture Omelet ;)
Nosh Abroad not all batter contains it despite what you read on the internet. I don’t believe there is dashi in the Hiroshima Okonomiyaki (it’s just flour) and I make a point to mention that each shop makes their own batter in their own way with secret ingredients. (You can ask NOT to have the layer of pancake with Hiroshima Okonomiyaki if you choose.) It’s a highly regional and “as you like” dish. Nosh Abroad right - and if it’s a problem, omit that layer! Another reason Hiroshima is the best!! It’s more customizable!
Angela Kim is there something different about “Japanese” mayo?
Japanese mayo uses rice vinegar and only the yolks of eggs. They are creamier and has a stronger tangy sourness to it.
Angela Kim thank you for explaining, it does sound delicious.
I love Hiroshima Style Okonomiyaki because there is alot of food in it. Also it got complex step by step that it makes me appreciate like an art~
I love the Osaka Style.
Hiroshima style seems more tasty to me
I do think its a little more complex.
osaka is much better, its taste like takoyaki. with mayo, bonito flake and sauce.
Osaka style tastes like barf.
Not really.
I think the Osaka style is what get exported overseas. Or whatever style that has katsuoboshi and mayo
I tried an AMAZING okonomiyaki in Osaka, before I even really knew what okonomiyaki was. When I got home I tried to research which one it actually is and I think it was a mix of both. I prefer Hiroshima style. Have you ever been to Tonchinkan in Kyoto? In my opinion, the best place for Hiroshima-style outside of its namesake city.
Couldn't choose, both look amazing. Hiroshima style looks more filling while Osaka style looks very classic and I'm sure both are exceptionally savory. Nice vid.
hiroshima all day! so much food, so many layers. and the green onion, sorry...drooling
Hiroshima style for me, though I love it made anywhere!

I tried both but I prefer Hiroshima style because you can distinct the ingredients from each other.
I'm team Hiroshima okonomiyaki.
Welcome to the team :)
Yes! Both looks great but I think I would like the layer style, noodles and green onions enough to make Hiroshima my fav.
oh , you are my enemy !!
Another awesome food coverage of Japan. I love seeing the various styles on how to make Okonomiyaki. Watching this makes me hungry. Great job John.
The first one Hiroshima style I believe looks much better to me.
I make mine that way. It's harder and more time consuming but worth it.

The best: Osaka style because of the katsuobushi flakes !
Oh yea. It looks "dancing flake"
It's too fishy for me. So pretty though
Make the Hiroshima style with the katsoubushi flakes and mayo
that katsuobushi flavor just addicting, whenever I order okonomiyaki/takoyaki, always ask for more katsuobushi and sauce.
I like Osaka style more cause the texture of the cabbage getting mixed in.
I miss living in Japan. Both styles are delicious, but I definitely prefer the Hiroshima style.
The first one I ever had was in Hiroshima...came with lovely oysters. Can't forget your first love ^^

I like Hiroshima Okonomiyaki more😍👌
ありがとうございます。
Just made my first osaka style okonomiyaki. Absolutely delicious! At first, I wasn't onboard with the bonito flakes and mayo but it all works!
I would like to try both, but the Hiroshima does look to be my favorite.
Made Osaka okonomiyaki this week for the first time. It was one of the best things I've had and was surprisingly easy to make.
IDK why but I didn't try okanomiyaki on either of my visit to Japan, Now I got a reason to go back! Well plenty of reasons.
I prefer Osaka because it’s not too dense from the noodles, and I enjoy that the ingredients are mixed together so you can always taste everything. Also, Japanese mayonnaise and bonito are a combination I can never get enough of.
Tried these two kinds of Okonomiyaki in Hiroshima and Osaka, they both taste great! Hiroshima version can fill me up easily! :P

Hiroshima looks more "money to the bucks"! And Hiroshima looks more delicious :D

John: "Long time resident Kevin Riley!"
Kevin: "Yah."
LMAO!
Chiyo is my favorite okonomiyaki joint in Osaka.
I swear their yakisoba is the best in Japan. It’s a must-try!
Osaka for me, but that's because the styles I've had at places on the West Coast all seem to be more inline with that style and I've never had the noodle heavy Hiroshima style. SOMEDAY!
6:26 Only the ingredients are different. But I love both Okonomiyakis.
I love how your voice sounds like the main character in a dubbed anime lol
Firstly I can't thank you enoguh for this channel. My dream is to visit Japan and it's culture as a whole, seeing all the different aspects and regions. From watching, I think the Osaka would be my flavor of choice because most of what I have seen as far as videos of Okonomiyaki have been in that mixed style. But I want to try both, experience it all, and just immerse myself in the culture of Japan. Your channel does a lot for fueling that fire.
I’m a osaka type of guy since I usually only eat that type of okonomiyaki
I totally love these videos. And because of the fact I also love Japan and its culture and of course Japanese food, so this channel is by far one of the best ones on RUclips. Keep up the good work!
Osaka style okonomiyaki is the best, but they make it in Kyoto too. I make it at home sometimes when I can find all the ingredients.
Osaka-style Okonomiyaki is easier to make it at home because everything is mixed together.
John. Your show has become a bit of a comfort show to me. When life is hard I watch Only In Japan. And daydream about moving there myself. Could you do something about Miyamoto Musashi? Thanks, keep up the good work!
I'm on Hiroshima side cause there's the zest of those Noddles with a layer of egg. Layers after layers I love it!!!
I think i can actually smell the okonomayaki from the screen. And it smells... So good!!
Always love the food episodes. Great work as always!
Ahh, dear memories. Okonomiyaki was so good, I ordered 2 liters of that heavenly sauce online when we came back.
Only in Japan is the reason I want to visit JAPAN!!!
I love Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki ... it's by far my favourite. Especially from the place where you showed how it is made ... been there several times ... yum!
01:05 A Japanese first: the bags arrive first in order to secure the table :-)
Osaka style okonomiyaki has yakisobanoodle,too.
It's called a modern-yaki. (cos. it was very modern for the people at the time. lol)
If they have a teppan counter table,I recommend you to have a seat there.
It's the best place to feel the atmosphere of the restaurants.
Especially, sushi, okonomiyaki,yakitori restaurants.
Did college in Osaka where I was introduced to okonomiyaki and over a decade later, I’m still biased. Osaka-style all the way 😄
Hubby and I love the Hiroshima style !we like the layers !his first time tasting the Hiroshima style ,he was pretty impressed, indeed a true soul food !
Watching this while eating garlic fried rice with two fried eggs and one piece of lumpia two slices of spam and one chopped roma tomato on the side
This is a wonderfully detailed video. Thank you for all the effort you put into it.
It's settled, we need to travel to Japan in the name of science to decide which one is better! As an initial step, I highly recommend trying Kevin's recipe to make our own Okonomiyaki... Check it out at Kuma's kitchen channel! Great episode John :-)
Katori Shingo Yes! That is the one! Thanks a lot for sharing 😊
I'll go with you. Just... Need to get through financial struggles for the next couple years.
Miodrag Petrovič Call me crazy, but I don't think she'll want to go to a foreign country with a random guy on RUclips
YUMMY
Hiroshima style looks way better!
But Osaka style tastes better
All your videos are great productions John, sometimes we take all the shots/angles for granted but you do a great job. I wish you much success
Why choose? I love both! (Someone is suppose to be on his honeymoon!!)
Thank you for the video and all the explanation! It helped a lot!! Also, I liked how your tone was always calm and polite.
Hiroshima Okonomiyaki is way, way better! It's nothing like pancake or pizza.
I like making my own. I put mushrooms and nori . I do mine together. I love it being variety .
I still didn’t get my post card but still love your vids and Kevin is my favorite guest. Ps you’re my favorite RUclipsr
Bloody Bricks Hello, long time no see you in live stream chat...
Yeah I'd change your profile pic. It's a bit much dude.
He probably doesn't want you to murder him and skin his face...
I support his profile pic.
Naughtysauce just a tad lol
Beer with Okonomiyaki, what a combination. Had plenty Osaka style but YakiSoba is also one of my favourites, i need to try the Hiroshima style.
I have only tried the Okonomiyaki from Hiroshima one, and it was good, anyway are very cool comparaisons, well done!
nice video. Clear and simple explanations and visuals. Thanks!
John try to make video on chiba prefectures monorail system.its my request!!
Velu Jalaja agree, that one of the most unique train in the world
I had no idea there were two styles. When I visited Kyoto I believe the style I had was Hiroshima... And now I'm going to make Osaka style
I like to try Them both they look very good
I love this channel, it looks so 90's and that makes it great!
Osaka style for me.
I had Okonomiyaki for the first time in Hiroshima so that's my favorite, but the only places around me stateside that have it serve Osaka style.
While it's good, it just isn't the same; I loved the layers of Hiroshima style!
Hiroshima style all the way.
Mmm yummy i hope that someone can sponsor me a trip to japan
