Some things to be considered:
1)The then USSR premiere Nikita Khruschev delebrately delayed the delivery of aircrafts which was meant to be deliverd to india just before few months of Sino-Indian war of 1962. Reason was it was done based on Zedong's request.
2)Joseph Stalin himself encouraged Zedong to invade India and carve out Gosthana(Aksai chin) so that the Soviets can get access to huge Uranium resources present in the region.

we have to understand one thing, that today's Russia is not the same as USSR . The Ukraine was also a part of USSR so technically Ukraine also helped us in 1971 war. India should atleast intermediate between these two brothers as a pay back.
ukraine was never in our side, they were for sure in ussr but there people especially the western region people did not want to be a part of ussr.(they were one of the reason the ussr broke) also just search for things that ukraine did against india which was not even related to them. they voted against us when we developed nuclear capability for selfdefence. they voted against us in so many things that strengthens our country. they sold weapons/tanks/etc to pak for fighting against us and i can continue this list for very long.

Not sure why you keep associating what the British did to India during the British Raj, as what the West (the whole wide West) did to India. British then (UK now) has always been a small sub-set of what West was then and what West is even now. I was born and raised in India and I love India wholeheartedly, I am now a US citizen for the last 40 years. Yes for the longest, USA never took India as its strategic partner because of USA’s own poor foreign policies. Now with the changing world geo-political environment, the equation is forcing a change for USA too. India can not and should not hold old grudges against UK and take it out on USA. Hope you do realize UK need USA “as much” as what India needs USA for economic development and world political stability. UK is only a strategic partner with USA, and so can India be.

Russia India are friends but its true both have disagreement but as long as Russia doesn't break its promises to India just like How USA supported Pakistan and how Britain starved our country . Russians helped our economy during 60s 70s and 80s. Russians saved our country in 70s. During 1962 China was like a younger brother to USSR or say Soviet Union but Soviet Union didn't support China. Ussr had that might and was communist and could have backed China and invaded India and split North India as communist and South as Capitalist just like Kore but Soviets didn't.

India should stay in the Russian sphere. In fact, stop all Indian immigration to USA and immigrate to Russia only!!!
