      Agreed. That's how it should be. In India (among Hindus) dead bodies are cremated (burnt) - the best way to dispose of a dead body, especially if a person died of a severe disease without contaminating the soil and underground water. After the cremation, no signs, no tombs, nothing.

    Sky burial is one of the most spiritual & eco friendly rituals. It’s a form of generosity & symbolizes non attachment. Once we are dead, our consciousness continues to the next realm depending upon what karma you earned. Some people thinks it’s too barbaric & disrespectful but the people in the Himalayan belt & Central Asia who practice Vajrayana consider it a sacred ritual.

    It was customary among Mongol nomads to wrap the body onto a cart and start taking it up a mountain. When the rumbling vibrates the body to fall off, it is left there for the wolves to finish it off. Wolves prefer rotting meat. That way the Wolf Totem (fm whom Chingiss Khan's clan, along w the Deer, believe they descend) is honored, and Tengger is pleased to take the soul up to the sky. Wolves and Mongols have a long, intimate survival relationship. Essential for healthy pasture lands. That's my guess.

    I've wondered about this too and yours seems to be the best deduction. I do believe however that they might have travelled back to his home land for some ritual burial ceremony.
    The Mongols were exposed to the great civilizations of that period, so the science of embalming a body for transportation wouldn't have been an issue neither would manpower. If anything, Genesis Khan was a man with a mission to leave a lasting impression on society. Having built so great an empire and crushed all his empires, one can also minimize his fear of his tomb being raided and vandalized. That leaves the Mongol traditions, customs and the personal legacy that he wanted to leave behind.
    So, if as you say, sky burial was a prevailing custom of the Mongol tribes men like the Parsis, I am convinced for now that it is the most likely reason for his tomb to be missing .

    Sir this was a very interesting session. I have watched almost all of your videos in youtube and I have really enjoyed them. Sir i am an aspiring physicist, so it's a humble request form me, Sir can you please please make a vedio on the road map to study "STRING THEORY". Sir if you kindly make one such then it will be a blessing for me as because I am quite confused about the prerequisites of studying string theory.

    Kind of sky burial is mentioned in some hindu texts as well under extraordiary circumstances. If a person dies while travelling in a forest. The body is allowed to be devoured by the animals in the forest.
    Sanyasis renounce fire. So jal samadhi or burial is allowed. Most opt for jal samadhi.

    Dear Abhijit ji, let me tell you on a personal note that for the first time I am finding someone actually talking about the relationship between History, Quantum physics, Indian Philosophy! I have been studying on these subjects for about 8/9 years now. But as I don't have any professional degree either in science or in history or in philosophy so never got the courage to spread it publicly. But your different episodes are making me so excited that I am not the only one doing it. Because I am considered as almost an insane person in my known circles. Thus never really got to verify or discuss and understand further other than my own understandings. Sir, I would like to request you to kindly let me know how can I get in touch with you personally and take my understandings to a different level. #AskAbhijit Hello Sir, I have read about the wars that took place between mughals and Indian emperors like battle of khanwa, panipat second battle, panipat third war: sir despite having number advantages, hindu emperors were not able to win against mughals in the wars that took place in northern region of India...what was the reason sir ?

    • @arvindmehra1376
      @arvindmehra1376 Год назад

      All those invaders had no. Advantage vs Indian kingdoms. Indian kingdoms were more advanced socially & culturally, they were prosperous resulting in coexistence with multiple Indian kingdoms having good trade & cultural relations with one another. This kind of existence required very less defensive force on borders. Not taking away the capabilities of war vs each other, but this liberal arrangement resulted ill-equipped defending vs the invaders, constituting armies of different regions banded together under one tyrant.
