    Awesome use of space. Definitely my largest obstacle. Thanks for the tips and ideas. As for your wood and small parts inventory, my late father in law would be proud of you. He always had the stuff to make it happen.

    Brad, thanks for the great tour of your shop.well layer out and I fully understand your upgrade plans. Fun to keep re-engineering! I built your miter saw station (with a few mods to meet my needs) and your downdraft sanding station (on a cart with wheels) and love them both! You are a very generous man to share your innovation Brad, thank you and Merry Christmas!

    Love your shop especially the size of your garage, looks to be more like a 4 car size. My shop is 24x24' with 8' ceiling. My problem is I have a wood shop, metal/machine shop combined along with a model shop for large scale r/c boats. that means everything has a place,I find it hard to get rid of good usable cutoff pieces also!

    Thanks posting this video Brad, I just got done making your wood storage cart for off cuts and it's it great beginner build. One question I have is about your lighting, what are you using and what changes would you make if you could do it over again?

    • @Fixthisbuildthat
      @Fixthisbuildthat  7 лет назад +1

      Brent A I'm using the 4 bulb 4' T8 shop fixtures from Home Depot. I'd probably buy 8' long 2 wide next time and have 4 of those spaced evenly across the shop for more consistent light.

    Have you considered USPS flat rate shipping boxes? You could load as much wood as will fit in one and sell them for a “save me from my addiction to wood cut offs price that includes flat rate shipping. Your viewers get small parcels of wood they might not have, and you get space AND a little cash to add an extra or two in the shop. Just a thought...... Nice shop too btw!

    Dan, You wouldn't happen be in CT would you? I sure could use your input into how to best utilize me shop, its 10 x 16-pretty tiny and in fact I'm getting rid of my walker turner drill press ( 1940's) and keeping my small table top drill press so I'll have more room. It is so congested that I still don't have my contractor table saw set up in a cart yet. Sadly getting thru the holidays..

    Great video! Question about your outlet situation - did you have to put in extra outlets in your garage for your shop, or do you use another approach? Like power strips or something similar? Also curious about your lighting. My garage functions as my shop too (well half of it anyways) and lighting is minimal. I saw some good lighting up towards the back(?) of the garage. Was that already there?
    Sorry for all the questions. I'm really enjoying your plans and videos! I'm working right now on your grill cart project and it's coming together nicely!

    Nice shop tour I've been following you for over a year with your build articles on other social media so it's great to see the shop. I do enjoy my fliptop cart and downdraft table/box both work out great. I've been looking into the supermax drum sander and I just started looking just wondering how often do you use it compared to say your planer?? Thanks for the tour and looking forward to more of your videos.

    And I thought I had a lot of wood! Never a bad thing having too much wood! Awesome shop tour, still love the Flip-Top cart I built from your design, thanks again! Do you see a lot of Craigslist deals in your area? I'm shocked you found the Sawstop and lathe used online. Not a lot comes on the market here in New York that I've seen...but keep hearing a lot of woodworkers scoring some awesome stuff on Craigslist.

    • @techedfireman4981

      Here in the Hudson Valley the Craigslist is always over priced, even the business auction sites I frequent are over priced for good school shop machines/tools.

      Long Island DIY I do have a good Craigslist area around here. It was even better in Cincinnati. But the key is to be the first one to see it. They go super fast when it's a good deal.

      That's the problem with long island though, it wouldn't make economic sense to pay the tolls on and off the island. I know when I go to visit family down there the stuff people put out on the curb is amazing compared to here.

      It's a 36" 5hp Industrial. I don't talk about it much because it's out of reach for most of my audience. And no home woodworker needs a 5hp table saw :) I just got a really good deal on it used.
