I've seen dozens of shop tours and this is the first time I've seen a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher. 2 items that are often over looked. Nice video

The "Tiny House" of wood shops. Incredibly efficient use of your space.
Can you imagine all the wives out there whose husbands have much larger shops? If they saw this video, they'd be asking their husbands why they needed so much space. And you've even accommodated your family in your space with the laundry area, bike storage, "attic" storage and craft corner.
Well done, and you have a new subscriber.

Hey Blake! I've been watching and learning woodworking videos on RUclips intently for over a year and this is the first time I've commented on anyone's stuff. I'm a huge fan of Jay Bates and April Wilkerson, etc., so it's funny that Jay happened to be the most recent comment below me, here, after 100's of comments.
Your videos are superb, especially considering that these appear to be your first few ever!? I'm impressed with your demeanor and how down to earth you seem. I also respect that you don't have a shop full of brand-new state of the art equipment that's barely used, if you know what I'm saying? I appreciate and respect your craftsmanship and I LOVE the vibe and ideas that you have going in your shop! Wow. I am developing a shop in about 1/3 of a 2 car garage and there are dozens of things that you do and ideas that you give and that I model and aspire to do myself.
I've been utilizing a dust deputy for a year, now, and swapping between small tools, but it doesn't work well for larger tools and I just received a new planer and am acquiring a jointer in short order, so I need to move to something dedicated with far larger CFM and 4" ducting. I only have 2 disappointments in learning about you and your channel... 1. You only have a couple videos so I'm limited in what I can learn from you! 2. You haven't yet gone big with dust collection yet, which is currently my next big project. You and I are like-minded in many ways and I would think that you'll do dust separation/collection similarly to how I would.
Giving you a hard time a bit, here, but I wanted you to know and be encouraged that I just love who you seem to be and how you are doing what you do! I have far less experience or skills than you do and don't know if you care to have any advice or suggestions, but I couldn't help notice you struggling with that standard wood glue bottle when trying to get glue into those narrow cracks between lams in the plywood that you split during your router enclosure glue-up. Have you seen these by Fastcap? www.fastcap.com/estore/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=57367. They're unbelievable, only cost a few bucks, and are one of the best values for the money in my entire shop! The mini version with it's fine tips would have knocked that project out of the park. Just sayin.
Anyway, I am sure looking forward to hundreds more of your videos! Thanks again for putting in the time to make them and your willingness to share you shop tour pretty much first thing (others often wait years to get to that)! Learning a TON and appreciate you, man! ;-) LEIF

    • @weberwoodshop
      @weberwoodshop  7 лет назад +1

Thanks for the kind words! I don’t have one of those glue bottles but the original glue bottle actually works great for forcing glue down into cracks because the flat hole can create a nice seal against the wood if you push hard enough.

Blake, I just revisited this video because I am searching for ideas for my shop. I also work out of a single bay garage. Actually, I have a 3 car, but living in Nebraska the cars need to stay inside during the cold winter months. I have approximately 245 sq ft., so organization is a necessity. I love the way you have thought out and implemented your spaces.

@@weberwoodshop Actually its not . A Chop saw is used in metalworking a Miter saw is used in Woodworking . WOW! What incredible organization and efficient planning. I just sold my house with a 1300 sq ft shop. (Lived in CA and had a GF in Los Gatos many years ago so I know how expensive it is to buy housing there.) Moved from the NM desert to a Houston suburb; first time to live in suburbia in a long time. Well thought out and organized shop. Stir stick back splash is the best. I'm amazed at how clean it is for not having a dust collection system, other than the shop vac and Jet air filter. For me, the wood would have to be kept inside the shop. Acclimation time would be a problem if I didn't. I'm not keen on using my ladder to get the wood off the wall, but my 1 car workshop won't allow it anywhere else.

What a well thought out space. Great to have the various circuits. Icing on the cake: Altec Lansing speakers, I have too have a set, and they must be almost 20 years old - still sound great!

Great quality video. Content, production, sound, editing.... just a fantastic job. And I'm just researching wood working shops to design mine, so i wasn't even trying to find a video with such great production! Nicely done. And the tool modifications were outstanding. I'll have to look into that brass set of incremental tools! Sharp!

Wow, what a fantastic shop, I really enjoyed watching your shop tour, well done. You also did well in purchasing your home, a conservative house, easy to care for, nice choice. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe and enjoy making some sawdust, a new friend/viewer from Iowa.

You have an awesome shop...I have a 12’ x 18’ she shed shop and I’m trying to organize it so your shop is a great example of what can be done. I have all the toys except a band saw for which I’m scouring all the sales. Got started woodworking a few years ago at 65 and plan on continuing for a very long time. I love building unusual thing like a 25” x 6 pirate ship for a party and an erupting Volcano that was 8’ tall and 8 1/2’ at base. Thanks for showing me that a complete shop can be made out of a small space.....🤪

Thanks for the walk through. It's nice to see what can be done with only a one car garage sized workshop. I'm sure your video is and will be inspiration for many.

You hit a home run with this shop. Tool city! I too have a one car garage: 11' x 22'. I have added a 3 hp cyclone dust collector. I've built bathroom vanities, large armoirs, dressers, an entire set of kitchen cabinets, Morris chairs, etc.Drop by if you're ever in Concord.

It might sound weird but this is not (just) a workshop. This is a playground. And those are not (just) tools, they're toys. Cause on the inside, we're still kids. And it's an incredible feeling to live doing what you like, and feel like playing.

Well equipped and well organized brother.
No wasted space there. And, being a serious woodworker, I know how hard it was to get it that clean for your tour.
    Great tour.
    Thank you Blake.
