      @@brugges I'm sorry that I have to explain to you that 50 empty 4x12s (even if they are fake and not made of the usual heavy birch plywood) weigh much more and take more space than 4 Marshall heads, and that therefore the weight saving argument for the Quad Cortex + SD Power Stage in this case was a bit ridiculous. Or whatever the stage set is, even if it's a flat wall with speakers painted on it, the whole point is that with a heavy stage set as this is, mentioning the weight saving of using a small power amp as opposed to a full guitar head or two is ridiculous. And it's called sarcasm, not a joke. Anyway, good day to you :)

    as a huge megadeth fan and dave mustaine fan i always thought this but once i bought ny newest guitar 6 months ago the Dave Mustaine Kramer Vanguard, its the best sounding guitar i have ever played for metal... it can do everything else to but thrash n metal tones are its mission maybe its the thrash factor pickups, but man the ebony board 24 frets 25 inch scale, everything is QUALITY , 80% of the parts on the kramer and epiphone are the exact same as the ones on the gibson and custom shop... I run my QC to a KSR PA50(pair of KT77's) to my cabs.
      I can't even tell the difference between my amp head and my captured amp after some slight tweaking.
      I tried just running direct for a while, but I like a cab on stage too much. I get frustrated with the in ears sometimes and yank them out mid set, for that moment I like having a good cab to monitor from still.
      Engineer is just getting the direct signal (with an IR) so still no need to worry about accidentally tripping over a cord and moving the mic.
      There's never been a better time to be a guitar player.

    • @nvmbrsdoom5
      @nvmbrsdoom5 Год назад +2

      I believe Dave and Kiko are using both the PowerStage for live amp sound onstage as well as running direct to FOH. It's a best of both worlds scenario that way, I prefer still having some actual guitar cabs pushing some air behind me onstage even when running direct. I've used the Quad Cortex into a Powerstage 200 into a variety of different 4x12 cabs and it sounds great from my experience. PowerStage works very well for something like the QC or a Helix or Fractal AX8, etc., it's very loud and clear and full-sounding without being overly sterile and it doesn't affect/alter the tones you've dialed in on your modeler in a negative way.

      Yes. You just have to be careful with how loud you turn it up. If your speakers start to fart out, then you’ve gone too far on the volume. If you leave it up too high for too long, you will eventually blow a speaker. But it’s perfectly safe if you keep it around the cabs tonal sweet spot. Also, the amp doesn’t have to work as hard, so it runs cooler.

    • @fixxxer602
      @fixxxer602 Год назад +2

      The Quad Cortex handles all of the preamp, effects, and cab simulation for the front of house, in ear monitoring, and front of house PA. The Quad Cortex is unique in that it can perform multiple routing functions directly from it. It has a lot of 1/4 inch outputs and I believe a couple of XLRs. You can send a single signal with amp, effects, and no cabinet simulation from one of the inputs to the Seymour Duncan power stage, which will power the cabinets on stage. Then, using another quad cortex output, you simulate the amp, effects, and cab for the front of house PA system. Then you can create a third output that includes an amp, effects, and a different cab sim (IR) that would be better suited for your personal monitoring needs.

Now what the JVM offered versus the stock/standard JVM410H, I've heard conflicting claims so you might wanna deep-dive into an internet search for a more concrete answer. They forget to advertise the merchandise they sell to sound like them. Some can't even explain what they go through to get that exact sound.
    I'm flabbergasted by such low input to where they can making tons of extra money because some sponsor got a deal to make a guitar/step pedal/speaker/effects etc...etc...etc...
    Just isn't lighting a fuse to their revenue. It's no wonder their sponsors drop them.

    *I'm still shocked Dave uses Line 6. I have no doubt his custom Line 6 head is superb, but most of Line 6's gear has never impressed me in the least.* Of course, when you see his rack setup it's littered with gear like everyone else's.
    *People see an amp, a head and a pedal onstage and think that's the core of that legendary player's sound, but it's always in fact very heavily processed which has been exploited to sell tube amps and digital gear for today, 3 to a whopping 10x what it's worth.*

    • @JohnJohnson-jw5uz
      @JohnJohnson-jw5uz 3 месяца назад

      He only used line 6 during the system has failed and united abominations era as far as I know. They use quad cortex as pre amps now just watch their rig rundown. Also I agree Line 6 is total garbage.

    • @JonDeth
      @JonDeth 3 месяца назад +1

      @@JohnJohnson-jw5uz he had a direct hand in the distortion and EQ algorithms on the ones he used, so I'm sure they performed great. My criticism of Line 6 is they have been billed as the gold standard in digital gear, but every year Zoom outperformed them. I would still only grade Zoom intermediate gear until they added tubes to some of their floor processors like the G9 and G5.
      I had a G5, but some crazy bitch smashed it. Without the tube being run, it's mediocre, with the tube cranked, it's the best processor I've ever owned, so I recently ordered one all the way from Japan while I continue trying to repair the one that was smashed.
      Line 6's Vetta 2 head was impressive, but the Helix is $1500! I had a POD but my Zoom at the time blew it away. I find their gear ridiculously priced for how it sounds. I also had a Headrush with touch screen etc. but it was absolute shit and I returned it.
      Ironically, I went to college for electrical/electronics engineering and am in the process of designing my own head from the ground up. I vowed after my most recent amp and replacing the G5 to never buy an amp or processor again. The solutions to semiconductor solid-state and digital is absurdly simple so it will have the note separation and definition we know tubes for, and it will be the final touch to my amp design. It's just such a ridiculously simple solution and staring the entire industry in the face based on one very simple and dominant trait of tubes, and it's not their soft clipping.
      In fact, I'm going to build some of these circuits to toss on the effects loop of my solid-state and digital amps. In theory, it will "cure" any amp it's used with, but if not, it will still definitely work on my own designs.
