@@Lieutenant_Dude "hey everyone, today we have the torsosplitter fuckmeister amp head from wretched cunt amplification, lets check out the clean channel"
I just tried this earlier this week with a JC 60 and it doesn’t get there. Like the other guy said, It definitely would need something pushing the front to get it close and even then I can’t imagine it would sound very good. It’d make for an interesting video though.
Damn, that is probably one of the best, if not the best solid-state I have ever heard. That gain structure sounds very convincingly like a full tube head from the ultra to the crunch channel. I know some solid-state amps can manage to replicate a good clean or lead tone but very few can make the crunch channel sound so real. I honestly think I want to keep on the lookout for any of these hitting the used market.
Solid states get a bad rap, because most pros elite for tubes, do of course the cheaper to build solid states are going to be made cheaply to market to beginners who don't want to spend yet or people who can't afford to. There's some top notch solid state and hybrids out there that will hang with all but the best tubes. I have yet to hear a bad Hughes and kettner, and clearly they fully utilized solid state technology and show just what solid state can do. I personally have a 2003 blue series vox vt 120 head and cab hybrid, and that easily pulls proper tone and will hang with most tubes.
My two cents: Good, but not much else to say. I wasn’t all that impressed. And at a cool $879.99 for a SS amp, definitely not picking this up anytime soon.
@@coffinfeeder7732 each to their own I say. I actually ditched a Mesa Triple Rec for this for a few reasons, can say for recording this is the best amp I have used to date for what I am looking for.
@@matttaylor1449 No, I think this was still a "will it chug" video. He didn't show any features, no built in effects, didn't use the direct out signal. Just went to the Ultra channel and played with the gain and EQ. I know there are other demos out there for this amp, but I would like to get Ola's take on it. What he likes, doesn't like, throw an overdrive in front and see how crazy this thing can get.
I get the feeling that the "Will It Chug" episodes are for products that are not good enough for an actual review. So that he can feature the product on his channel without having to come out and say "it sucks". For US$850+ this thing sounds like crap.
@@StillLivinginthewoods your a jackoff. obviously he loves this amp or he wouldn't have played on it with his oversized Mesa 4x12 cab in the other video and you would like it too if you could afford one and play on it in person ya hater. more like living under a rock. lmao.
Tried it today and I can say, it "DOOMS as well", a Baritone in Drop G ? No problem...If you max-out the crunch and use a tube- preamp in front, it sounds like a Plexi on steroids or an Orange (without the hissssss). I prefer the Crunch and Lead channels btw...The noisegate works quite good as well. I must say, I expected nothing and this beast just nailed it. This will be my future amp for sure....Thanks, Ola, for the review. Great job again !
The 6 string sounded a bit better on this one as far as articulation is concerned, but the 7 string still got the chug going on. I wouldn't play speed metal or anything on it, but it's not a bad sounding amp at all.
I loved the way the 7 string sounded with it. Wouldn't play speed metal with it, but holy shit does this thing sound right for some raw brutal death metal full of blast beats.
That’s one of the best solid state amps I’ve ever heard, also, you could take off like a minute due to explaining the amp, waiting for the sound, playing with the clean tone, and the time between ‘I think it’s chugging!’ And ‘yeah, I think it’s chugging’ lolol
Wow, really reminds me of the 80’s Exodus tone, sounds a hell of a lot like the tone on Fabulous Disaster. Not my personal kind of tone, too fuzzy in the low end and not crunchy enough, but it works really well for thrash.
That is one great amp You can set it and it will remember everything USB memory stick And you can put it in a different H and K and it will have all the sounds

It's not just you. It doesn't sound that great to begin with, and it gets even worse when he plugs in the 7. For what it costs (US$ 850+) you can get an actual tube amp and achieve far superior results.

The Black Spirit 200 is about 100x more metal than the Tubemeister/Grandmeister lines. I'd say the Black Spirit sounds very much like a better Mesa Boogie (Mark series in the Lead channel, Rectifier in the Ultra) whereas the Tubemeisters sound more Marshall-y than Marshalls no matter which channel you're in.
