Pedals are for g.a.s., stop fooling yourself, there are good and bad amps, how you'll make it sound it's up to you, since they day i started listening to music i heard fantastic tones coming out of miserable equipment, a plethora of famous guitarists used equipment that was either crappy or shunned in their time, guess what was the result?
Jen & Ola! Thank you both for your Chug Assessment! I entered electric guitardom during it's Jurassic period, when guitar effects pedals & very loud guitar amplification were relatively new things. I have learned so much about modern metal guitar tones from you, Ola, not only by your numerous distortion unit comparison videos, but also through your many "Will It Chug?" videos, and your refreshingly candid & honest comments. I am very appreciative of your approach, and it's why I continue to follow what you have to say.

Fascinating to watch the tone change just by having another guitar player. Jem is a realy good guitar player, but Ola has a more massive tone just in his hands.

Bravo! I could never get my Pirhana to sound as good as you did, but your verdict is correct. It sounded pretty thin to my ears too. Recording, it sounded wonderful through a ten inch speaker, just a tip for Pirhana users out there 😉

ok so toward the end of the video . Plugging in the pedal helped but Ola proved that chugging is also part of a persons playing technique . I thought the amp on its own had a nice sound but not for a chugging metal effect .

Some don’t understand how this amp runs stable on a 4 ohm load. To get the full 20 watts of power you need a 4 ohm cab. I tried the Piranha with the Randall 1x8” 8ohm cab and got half the power. Randall has a great cab but this is why it performs best with Peavey 6505 1x8” cab was designed for this 6505 Piranha micro. I got my Piranha 6505 micro new in sealed box for $99 bux from a store going out of biz because of internet & big box stores. Just a little Peavey info that may help those who need it.....#Peavey❤️

I'm surprised a 6505 of any variant had to be dimed on the gain to get an even somewhat brutal tone.
It actually sounded pretty good with the overdrive. Still a tad weak and the clipping was a bit rigid and hard

Honestly, with the crumch that amp gets, if you told me it was an expensive amp I might have been fooled. Great amp to sit in a mix with heavy bass. Especially with today's modern metal.
