Since July began, at least three BL (or BL-adjacent) series have re-written my 2022 Top Ten list: they are from Japan, Japan, and, oh, Japan. The most obscure of these (based on how few MDL users contributed a rating) is Double. "Double is a tour-de-force of acting and writing for the small screen," begins the review I contributed to MDL because the series only had one other (equally favorable) review. I should thank DMR for pushing me toward the series. If you watch BL just to enjoy two men kissing, skip this one. If you appreciate thoughtful drama irrespective of what happens with the sexual tension between the two men, track the series down. Dramacool is a good place to start.
John, your brain pan is Sterling silver. I am very biased, admittedly, towards all things Japanese. "Double" I have seen and it was wonderful. I was fully absorbed and not wasting my time waiting for anyone to fall on top of someone else. The acting was superb, the story compelling. Now I must find "Favoritism". Thanks to BLC and you.
Hi, have you seen ep 1of 180 Degree Longitude Passes Through Us? I wish this series had been Japanese as I feel a Japanese production would have handled the staging of some scenes better. There was an awkwardness of a scene that I can't forgive. It was like watching an amateur play.
@@blcritic I am used to UK & US productions so I find BLs from Thailand are mainly people standing and talking filmed in really flat boring ways so keep that perspective in mind. I don't know if this production 'is great for Thailand'. I look forward to your verdict.
hehe.. it was like that when I was first introduced to BL back in 2014... however, I have worked in Thai movie industry.. and.. the Lakorn are still living in 1980-2000s era.. hence.. now I can tolerate anything.
Eh? I am a Asian Mom now & really I prefer to be a little rosy- eyed about the kids. I miss my Mom too. My Dad is old trying to live his healthy best life I I can't imagine my life after he goes. Parents are like a link to some past memories when they are gone there is a hole which nobody can fill. After some years even husband becomes an inseparable part of you. I can't even imagine my life without the husband, kids, parents, a couple of friends.
BLC: nice people need to stick together in this world. I am just wondering how you are doing as far as the inevitable stress of taking over the family business and so on. I hope you are getting enough relaxation time and sleep.
Thanks Ron... I must say so far so good... not something I wanted to do.. but having studied financial Management all my life, I have to help them plan better esp at this testing times.
@@blcritic With that background, it will all happen as you want it to. You bring us a lot of enlightenment so the least we can do is send up good vibes/prayers/positive thoughts--whatever you believe in.
BLC, know you are loved and your post was great but I am cheating on you a bit by checking to see if John Master is here and what he recommends--a thumbs up you can trust. As far as Asian moms, I mainly only know my Viet best friend's Aunts and they are a story!
Speaking of "what I reccomend", did you see Uncoupled on Netflix yet? On Mr Critic's next full length video, that will be the series I tout. Unless someone else does it first!
Uncoupled is on my list... the story seems interesting from my teaser. I have been very busy lately, taking over my family business.. a lot of planning and sleepless nights. Life was good when I was working for fun and making videos twice a week!
Those Taiwanese conservative moms, we all have at least one.

Hi can you tell the other 2 dramas?
@@ash.swathi the two less obscure ones are Old Fashion Cupcake and Favoritism of the God (though this one also remains more obscure than known).
@@johnmaster3748 old fashion cupcake is one of my fav 😍 😍 😍. Other one I have to check. Thank you🥳🥳🥳

@@ronhilton9614 Dramacool, also for Favoritism. I've got a review of that one on MDL, too. And I made a List because of it, too.
Sounds like projection to me
