So glad to see you are all better. I know that was painful. Just glad to see you back at your sewing machine. Thanks for all Missouri Star Quilt Co. does for all of us.
I was so pleased to see that your eye is better but somehow you look sad, the lovely cheerful giggle wasn’t there today. Hope all is well with you and your loved ones.💖
I love this gorgeous quilt. Maybe because to me, it has ‘one foot’ in the quilts of years gone by and at the same time, the other foot in today’s quilts. Just magical.
Thank you for adding the screen shot of materials needed. I like the new style, but I still need it all written out in one place. This is a great compromise of both worlds!
Thank you so much for saving history!!!! I love keeping thr old blocks alive! And Jenny and the gang make it easier to make than those amazing ladies in our past. Bring on the remakes any time! Thanks for another beautiful quilt to inspire us to keep our history alive!!!
Jenny’s ability to “modernize” the techniques to make such complicated patterns is her gift to the quilting world. The fact that we have so many handy tools at our disposal make quilt making so available to all of us. She is the pioneer in the modern quilting world. Jenny, I hope you know how much you are loved and valued. 😃😃
I so appreciate your teaching style. You take the time to actually sew the pieces together in front of the camera giving us beginners, who are visual learners, the comfort needed to feel like we can do this! Thank you
I’m always amazed at the work the original quilters put into their work. No rotary cutters or templates and much handwork including hand piecing. Thanx for this lesson. 😍
The soft pink with the grey, smoky black & cream in the fabrics is so elegant & what a perfect combo for the mothers choice block. I Love that You made this quilt using strips and You made it so easy to recreate. What a way to honor the people that created those blocks long ago :) Absolutely Beautiful.
Thank you for showing how you study a vintage block. I find myself doing this when I see a quilt for the first time. Looking well at it to find what blocks was used.
I love this one, Jenny. And the way you dissected the old block is genius. Wouldn’t this pattern be gorgeous in a Christmas quilt? Wow. Now my mind is working on getting my ducks in a row. Lol. Tfs. God bless. 👏🏻💕👏🏻
❤️❤️❤️ this quilt & what my boys will say when I tell them it’s “Mother’s Choice”! 😉 I sew appreciate that you’ve made this simpler just for me ‘cause heaven knows I need simple!
I love how you made a photo copy of the block so you could then break it down into a different method of getting the finished block. Always learning something new from you, Jenny!
This quilt turned out so gorgeous in the current color choice... but it would be beautiful in blue and white also. Thank you for sharing your simplified method. 🙏🥰
As you said it’s like elegant China looking with those fabrics.. I think it’s a winner for my guest room ... but will definitely need it a bit bigger .. thanks for sharing ... 😉
Beautiful block and quilt! Your choice of fabric was spot on. The quilt is gorgeous! Thank you for sharing your thought process when looking at the old vintage block. I often see things and say to myself, that would make a beautiful quilt block. Now I can try your method.
So fun to do as you suggest - draw the lines and see if a pattern can get easier. I have done it several times and love seeing the results. Thanks for your constant inspiration, Jenny!
This tutorial is great! The quality of the the video and content is exceptional! Nice camera angles and as always, Jenny is terrific! She seems to be slowing down and explaining, and showing, all of the detail steps!! Thank you. I have to make this gorgeous quilt for me, for Mother’s Day🌷
I had trouble following this, until you sewed them together. It got frustrating when I can see and follow ideas without too much trouble. This was way out there!
I love the Mother's Choice block. Thank you for this tutorial and all of them. Your dedication is very much appreciated by me and all the quilting world. Very happy your eye is better.
Thank you for a beautiful idea for a quilt or even a wall hanging and thank you for taking the time to explain each step. It makes it doable, even for the faint of heart!
Yes❣️ I did enjoy this tutorial. I especially like how you explained your process of breaking a block into parts in order to make it in an easier manner. I’m going to adjust the size to a 9 inch block so I can use it in a sampler quilt that I am making. Definitely going to like this video so that I can find it again. Thank you MSQC❣️
Wow! This one is gorgeous and so elegant. I can see this on my guest bed if I make it bigger. It's so lovely, I won't let anyone touch it. ;) Definitely an heirloom quality quilt. Thank you!
Thank you Jenny for showing us this beautiful Quilt pattern, You are the one who inspired me to take up quilting many years ago, I have made many quilts over the years for family and friends using some of your patterns, I think this would be a wonderful pattern to make a quilt for my sisters family as a tribute to my beautiful Sister who passed away recently. Thank you Jenny for all that you do for us, Wishing you and your family good health and blessing's from Australia, may you continue to share your wonderful gift with the world, stay safe and best of luck with the reopening of your store! What a STUNNING quilt! So many cuts that it's clean I'll need to purchase the pattern for this and not be able to watch tutorial and go. Jenny you are magical in your thinking and "taking it down to your way of thinking"; thanks for sharing that with us! What a gorgeous line of fabric.....hope MSQC gets more yardage in soon. So happy prayers are answered and your eye is doing better. May it continue to heal completely! Blessings Ms. Jenny!
Jenny, you are a star. Will you stop coming up with so many wonderful ideas though... I have so many choices now to make a gorgeous quilt for my son and his partner for their new home :) They are all too lovely xx
I agree! Such a beautiful pattern. I would love to do this pattern in teals and greys along with the white background to go in my living room and a larger pattern to make for my bedroom though with buying a new house, not really sure of the color scheme in this room yet.
BTW... I'm Jeff's wife, this man in the pic is my husband and he does not have the patience to quilt lol. My name is Kim and I'm still learning but absolutely love to quilt and Jenny, you make me want to do this even more with your teaching us so many patterns and making them so much more simple than they look!
@@iplaybass1956 Jenny is just amazing. I would be absolutely lost without her tutorials and the way she makes it look so easy. 🥰 Congrats on the new house. So much fun to decorate new living space. You can’t go wrong with teals, greys, and white. That’s such a gorgeous color combo. Hopefully we get to see it once you’re done. 🤗 enjoy!
I like the pattern. I like your explanations. I would use only one fabric for all frames and another for the tulips. Or chanche the colors like a checkerboard. And a fussycut in the center would be beautiful.
Thank you sew much!!! I have some beautiful jelly rolls however I have this issue- I want patterns for jelly rolls that don’t automatically read that it’s made from a jelly roll. You did that here. This doesn’t look like just 2 1/2 strips sewn together! Perfect! Thank you sew very much! Definitely a keeper and now my favorite jelly rolls can find a home 🥰😘 your tutorials are always so uplifting and you make it feel easy and doable!
This pattern is perfect🤩!! I’ve been looking for a pattern that would frame my grandchildren’s pictures for a wall hanging!! 😍. I’ll have to change the name on mine to grandmothers choice!
It is SO beautiful! I am in another time zone and it isn’t even 9:00 a.m. where I am and I immediately tried to order all the fabric shown.......already sold out! WOW! Guess I should have gotten up earlier. I will have to put this on the shelf until I can find fabric......bummer!

This fabric is beautiful; I love pink and black together. I get a kick out of the names of some of these old blocks. Sometimes you can see where the name came from, but other times you think, that lady was seeing something that I don't! Either way I love the new take on this old block. Beautiful quilt.
Jeannie, thank you so much for this beautiful block! At retreat this week I won a red & cream jelly roll that I think will look lovely in this. You are amazing!
