I think people see Mel's manipulations and assume she has bad intentions. But just because she's manipulative, doesn't mean she's evil. She is genuinely trying to help the city. In contrast, people look at Heimerdinger and see him as pure and good. But look how ineffectual he actually is. He doesn't see what is actually going on. He doesn't have a sense of reality. The problems of the undercity festered under his leadership because he's a pure idealist. Mel, is more successful at helping the city, because she actually knows how to play the game. She may not always be right, but she does try to help the city.
Since you mentioned Caitlyn's umbrella, a fun little thing I noticed: It is the exact same colors as Vi's jacket So we are seeing Caitlyn go to a council meeting and not get the result she wanted. She goes out into the rain and reaches out to someone for support while being open to the elements, but that person rejects her and walks away while covering themselves from the rain. Then she goes home and makes a decision to keep trying and go after Vi, but is interrupted by an unexpected visitor from the undercity Just like Jayce in episode 2 was brought before the council and did not get the result he wanted. He then went out into the rain and reached out to someone for support while being open to the elements, but that person rejected him and walked away while covering themselves from the rain. Then he goes back to his lab and makes a decision to give up and end it all, but is interrupted by an unexpected visitor from the undercity
That scene with Viktor running on the docks at night is so beautiful. Sky sacrificing herself for Viktor is such a sad moment too. She was barely on screen but they do a good job of conveying her (unrequited) love for Viktor. Sky's voice actor is also Ashley from Mass Effect.
I see a lot of reactors saying Viktor should've quit while he was ahead but people seem to forget that fixing his leg does not equate to fixing his disease. They are two completely unrelated things. He's always had a bum leg but his respiratory disease developed recently.
I love the recontextualization of Mel and all her choices in this episode. That perhaps all the manipulation and talk about building weapons and all that has actually been to protect the city from threats like her mother, which no one on the council understands like she does I think it says a lot that she's been away from home so long that in her flashback she doesn't even remember what her mother's face looks like, but she remembers that little girl with perfect clarity
It speaks volumes that Mel was raised by a wolf but her first instinct was to show mercy to her enemy, despite her mother's cold but logical calculus balancing the death of one vs thousands.
@chudez I have a suspicion that this is how the conflict between Piltover and the undercity will finally resolve. Not by crushing the hopes and the symbols that keep the other side fighting, but by extending mercy and compassion to them while not knowing but trusting that they'll do the same in return Somebody has to be the first if the cycle of violence is ever going to end Heck, maybe we'll even get a repeat of this exact scene, where the leader of one side has the leader of the other at their mercy and has this same choice to make
Heimerdinger had 200 years to help the undercity but did nothing - guess that's what happens when you're an immortal yordle who can afford to take things slow. Meanwhile, Viktor grew up disabled in Zaun's toxic fumes and has months to live. When he finally gets a chance to walk without pain and maybe help others like him, of course he went all in.
Another layer of devilishness in Jinx's torture is the doctor literally used a sleeping agent on Silco seconds ago but lets Jinx remain awake. Could have easily just refilled the syringe.
by the way it is true that the Doctor (Singed) of Silco once had a Daugther, Shimmer is such a good representation of Drugs, a litle dose can mean heal but to much can destroy you and the loved people allround you
“Oh, not the somber music to end it all!” Hahahahahahahahahahaha! Oh, girl. It’s gonna sting. Among many of the sublime attributes of this series, it produced some great music. And the one which ends the season is one of my favourite songs of the last decade.
A nice detail of Mel's path. One of the biggest dangers of an escalation ladder is the tendency for each step up the ladder to become normalized so one doesn't realize how far they've escalated. Ambessa coming in and saying "weapons can't be unmade and they are always used" was a reality check for Mel. You can see the "oh shit I knew that but I got caught up in the escalation" look on her face.
I feel the introduction of Mel's mother. Her character design and her arrival in Piltover.... In one scene, it completely captured what her character was all about. Wonderful bit of show, don't tell. Likewise, the flashback of her and Mel at the beginning.... Again, in one scene she completely explains Mel.
Please u have to react to the intro of league of legends world final championship 2024 that was today, u have to see how amazing and superb are the shows that RIOT make to his league of legends championship...

This show really does wvery character so well. No true heroes. No real bad guys. Just everyone doing their best. Including Jinx.
Fun fact: Jinx saw Cait naked before Vi did

Ooh, never even thought of it that way! Great observation!

"The girls are girling!"
Love it!
They did hold hands in this episode though.

@@ColinPoole I was just noticing that for the first time!! :(
I WAS CURIOUS ABOUT THAT
you missed the best part in Caitlyn shower scene, at he end, in the backround

oh thank you for sharing!!!
Did you see Jinx in the back at the end ?

From another series: “Every shitty thing we do just makes the next one that much easier.” - Naomi Nagata
such a good reveal with Jinx at the end there.

You missed Jinx in the mirror in Caitlyn's Shower. :D

13:06 🤨🤨🤨😳
The girls are trying to girl jinx, no! Bad Jinx!
“I, too, once had a daughter.”
I don’t think people truly understand the implications of this line considering how the episode begins.
The beheading? I'm not seeing how these two things are the least bit connected...
