I love the fact that, indirectly, your videos always end up somehow highlighting and promoting the models work. They are always super capable and competent, it's such a great advertisement the way you focus on them when recording b-rolls.
It is an amazing lens! I was so glad to try it out a few weeks ago. The 50 is definitely a go to for me. Love it! Awesome video & beautiful portraits 💜
Wow, Mitch! My first time seeing one of your videos! Bravo! You do such incredible work. Your model was lovely AND I love how much respect and credit you give her! Like the "be good to your Mom" at the very end ~ you are a class act. Great artistry. I want this lens. I also want to be richer ;)!!
Great video, Mitch! Checking out the raw files you've (very kindly) provided has pretty much set my mind at ease about the 20 megapixels dilemma. Much appreciated!
Frankly this video highlighted the actual photographs and model than the lens itself. I reckon you could achieve the essence of these shots even with the 24-70mm 2.8
Amazing! your work is so inspirational man. Keep it up for sure! The way you and the models just go with the flow on every shoot is something I really enjoy watching.
i cant wait to get the r6. switched from my a7ii to the 5d mark iii because sony colors just dont work with my style. and yikes its tough getting used to no ibis and no mirrorless. mirrorless camears focus is so much more accurate
@@KoldPhaze sony button setup and lowlight amazing but the colors are trash. 5d3 is temporary till i can afford the r6. The r6 has everything i like from sony but with canon colors
I would really love to see a canon RF 50 1.4. They haven’t updated that lens since 1993, when the EF version came out. If canon ever makes that, it would be cool to see what you’d shoot with it.
I agree - if they make it I would totally get it - the 50 1.8 is okay but there needs to be something to fill in in the middle - maybe around the 800-1200 price range and obviously compete with the sigmas and tamrons of the world.
Great video! Can you please make a video about how you get CLog on R6 to look great. Not grading, but color correction and correcting log. R6 is a first camera I shoot in log with and I don’t know much about grading log, bringing it into rec709 etc. Do you use any Canon official LUTs for color correction or do it manually?
Good job! I liked your video, thanks for all the information. I‘ll definitely go with this lens! Another question: As Lightroom doesn‘t provide Camera specific profiles for the Canon Rs and obviously never will (and the Adobe profiles are dramatically bad) - how do you face that problem? Is it a problem for you at all? Many greetings from Austria and keep up your good work 🇦🇹 Guenther - EIKONAS Photography
Thanks for sharing.. I tried this lens in a shop and I'm loving it. But I already have a 70-200 RF 2.8 and a EF 85mm 1.4.. Probably I'm going to sell the EF lens and get this 50 1.2.. What do you think about? Thanks!
So why did you change to Sony than of the r5/r6 are so good in autofocus and this lens the sharpest you’ve used so far…? I used both systems and must say that the sharpness and focussing of canon is so much better overall. I’m pretty disappointed with the Sony a7iv it never nails the iris always tends to focus on eye lashes or eye brows, I also tested the Sony a7Rv and I was also disappointed with that one. The image quality with the canon combined with an rf L lens is just so much better in sharpness and focus accuracy. I cannot understand why so many RUclipsrs hype the Sony cameras … for no reason honestly
I don't care anymore about any of this stuff - I realised it was a waste of time. I care more about taking good photos and I suggest you do the same :)
And three times more expensive than the old 1.2l. It is ridiculous. Electronics and materials have become cheaper and obviously production costs are less from what they used to be due to technological advancements.
The sharpest elephant you will find 😅 These are so beautiful man and sums the lens up perfectly for me
You smashed the filming on this one bro! Cheers for letting me have a go of it - definitely one of the best lenses I've tried period.
I love the fact that, indirectly, your videos always end up somehow highlighting and promoting the models work. They are always super capable and competent, it's such a great advertisement the way you focus on them when recording b-rolls.
Wow thanks for the very kind words Andre.
Dude your BTS is always so relaxing to watch! Great video!
Thanks Julian - hope you're doin okay down there in maximum security
Absolutely stunning model! Thanks for showing us her and for your thoughts on the lens.
Great shots and thoughts on. Love the way how you talk and interact with the model Masha. So casually cool!
It is an amazing lens! I was so glad to try it out a few weeks ago. The 50 is definitely a go to for me. Love it! Awesome video & beautiful portraits 💜
Cheers Zach - saw your video and loved the comparison.
Mitch, you made this lens look amazing! Sure it may be a very good lens, but you guys did such a beautiful shoot with it.
Dude so good! Images are clean af. Also, that model knows her stuff 👌👌
Thanks Matt - yes if you can get a shoot with Masha I highly recommend she's amazing.
woooow, that was amazing, I’m impressed, the model is gorgeous, the pics came amazing. you did a great job😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Wow, a clean, timeless edit on these Mitch. Please do a 2021 Lightroom/photoshop edit. It would be greatly appreciated. Haha thanks & blessings!
You got it!
The lightning is always spot on in the video and the background bokeh are awesome. Model poses and sharpness nicely captured with this lens, uumm.
Cheers! Glad you loved it all.

Loved finding your channel! Super inspired for my new channel 👌🏽
loved the portraits and the location was dope
Cheers Gill
You’re such an inspiration Mitch!
Thanks Rubby
Amazing shots and brilliant explanations! SHARP SHARP SHARP

This turned out incredible Mitch. These photos are so beautiful and clean. Your work never fails to amaze me :)
Thank you Amanda - congrats on your first video :)
Can't go wrong with a solid camera body and a sharp high-quality lens!
Yeah it's the truth! But gear isn't everything
Real nice shots Mitch! the lens looks super sharp!! definitely would like to see a comparison video between the nifty 50 and the 1.2
Cheers JP - TK did one on his channel search it up! I'm actually in the video too :)
Love your work and shout out to your model, who absolutely killed it!
great lens and awesome model!
Definitely my favorite Lens! 😍 Great Video and amazing Phots btw. 😊
Cheers dude.
As a Canon R6 owner you've brought a New Light to my content appreciate you king ! Love from NYC 📸🤍🙌🏾
yess dude! I love this review. I am thinking of getting a 50 1.2 so this definitely helps man
This is my favourite lens.
Amazing! your work is so inspirational man. Keep it up for sure! The way you and the models just go with the flow on every shoot is something I really enjoy watching.
Thank you Felix - very kind words :)
Amazing portraits!
Mitch has done it again. I’m glad I came to Canon when I did.
ahh that's nice Courtney - thanks :)
she's by far the best model that you've ever engaged in your videos, the others mostly don't know how to pose properly
Can’t wait to get one!
insane lens!!!! Masha killed it

Rare to hear people switch from Sony to Canon usually the other way around

Informative, relaxing and quite astounding to watch.
Love this one Lally 🤍🤍
🤍 thanks
RF85mm f1.2 my fav, you should totally try it too!
I'd love to try it soon
great lens!
but I use mostly the 35mm and 85mm!
Same Mike

Wow this is as sharp as it gets. The image quality and the photos are amazing. Did you shot everything on the R6?
Yep all shot on the R6!
Awesome video with real life shooting. Thks
Cheers Taco
This is the perfect lens for indoor sport events like basket balls or boxing for example
Awesome video, mine comes tomorrow! :)
Another great video 📸
The model🔥
Love your videos, Mitch :) great work!
Glad you like them!
I still love the 85 mm focal length. Rather I gone for 85 1.2 with 28 70f2 for back up.
Hola , te recomiendo probar el rf 100mm f2.8 macro, es brillante
Great images Mitch, the IQ of this lens is insane!
Thanks Luc - appreciate it man
Love the way you edit the photos to a limited colour palette !

I always do it manually - I might make a video in the future :)
Beautiful picture Mitch. Could you also give a try Samyang RF 85mm f/1.4 lens as well ?
I'm on it - just gotta get my hands on one.
Hi Mitch you should try out the RF 24-105 F4 L lens it’s super sharp for video also takes nice photos God bless.
I will check it out! Thanks for watching!
Would use the 28-70 f2 for portrait work or the rf 501.2?
Probably the 28-70 if I had to choose
Yo the lens and the shots are sick!! but the model killed it even more!!!
Crazyy sharpppp dammmmm !!!!
Indeed it is! 1.2 is out of control sharp
I love when Aussies say “phoetoes”
Edit a photo, the result is brutal
Super a nice Lens!!!
I love it!
How do you rate the IQ of the 35mm 1.4 Tamron vs this? I have both, plus the Canon R5 :) Nice video!
Wsup bro great work, what wb did you use
Nice one bro 😎
Thanks brother!!
Did you get a chance to use its low light performance??
Not really but I can only assume it does really well
Could you do a color grade tutorial
Any chance the files are stored and can be donwloaded elsewhere? The link does not work anymore

Thanks mate. I use the Adobe profiles I think they look fine.
what is the new switch on the lens replacing the image stabilization? full/ 0.8? what does that mean
This is a photo camera review, but i like the look of the video, may i know what camera do you use for filming this episode?
Canon R5 was the camera for all the behind the scenes footage.
@@MitchLally thanks for answering my question, do you use internal codec or external recorder? I'm so sorry if my question is too noob

Try out the 24-105 F4 L lens very underrated lens tbh.
@@alphaandomega2709 agree, I already own it 🙂 but I’m looking for a lens with great bokeh 😉
If you've already got an 85 I would get a good 35 to compliment rather than the 50 - it's too similar in focal length
Plastic or not as long as the lens does the job .. 100% agree
Cheers Jonty
did you end up buying another tamaron 35 EF? im debating on whether buying that EF or waiting for one day for them to release the RF version?
Not yet! We''ll see what happens with the 35mm landscape for RF mount. For now the 35mm 1.8 is going okay as a replacement.
How can i buy your preset using transfer bank? I don't have VISA/Master Credit Card.

Hi Mitch, you mentioned @0:21 that the RF 50mm f1.2 is not your go-to focal length; Then may I ask: What is your go-to focal length/ lens? And why?
What body did you use.
Canon R6!
And three times more expensive than the old 1.2l. It is ridiculous. Electronics and materials have become cheaper and obviously production costs are less from what they used to be due to technological advancements.
Looong time Canon guy here. When the EF 50 1.2 came out in 2006, it was $1600. That’s $2450 in today’s dollars. The RF 50 1.2 is $2099 right now.
While Canon is getting bigger Sony is getting smaller and just as good! Why? 🤔
Why hasn't anyone mentioned how hot this chick is yet
Other vlogs have shown that the 50 1.2 at 1.8 vs the $200 50 1.8 are almost impossible to tell the shots apart. Just for the record😄
you can tell the difference in low light.
FYI your video is too dark. yw.
I m gay but Masha wow she is perfect. Congratulations…….
