Glad you discussed this! One tip I have for people who struggle with the same is to take a break for a few days and then come back to your project again. You will realise how much work it needs. If you tend to make your projects in 1 or 2 sittings, your brain will literally start coping and telling you that it's good enough when it's not as discussed in the video
pro tip for adding realistic grain in photoshop: use a 50% grey fill layer rather than pure black. Add the grain effect to that layer. Then change the blending mode to either overlay, multiply, or soft light. From there, you can decrease the opacity to your liking. This methods allows the grain to organically match the color and luminance of the image rather than a fully black grain overlay. Great video btw! Thanks for sharing.
Oh man this is a very interesting topic. About your Statement at the end where you said that you kinda "Winged it and hoped nobody would see the blemishes" i think this is a better approach. I am learning Blender right now and really struggle because i want everything to be perfect and that kinda stops your progress. I would rather be able to wing it at first and once i have some solid fundamentals try to perfect it. nice video btw!
pure semantics but id say its professionalism rather than perfectionism. you cant always go perfect a piece. deadlines are bound to be met, budget are bound to be hit. too many variables are at play to make every piece you do 'perfect'. but you always have to be professional with your clients. be clear with the requirements of the project, meet the deadline, level with the budget, know where and how they are going to use the renders for, exceed expectations if theres remaining resources. etc. clients dont always know what they want, it is your responsibility to figure out what they need.
Great topic to talk about Getting complacent about "oh that doesn't need to be fixed, it's fine" isn't even a habit that will keep you at a plateau. It's a slowly decaying orbit and it will drag you down in the long run
Lovely render man. The lighting feature you are talking about is known as Gobo lighting. Pretty trendy these days and it works wonders to otherwise plain looking renders.
Great advice. Thanks m8. Could you please make more vids about getting those first clients? I know you've already made a few but I really think that's where a good chunk of people are struggling right now. Cheers m8!
4:46 a little remark here in case you don't know. you can use light groups to make certain lights interact only with the objects you want them to cast light into so you don't need to bother find workarounds to avoid lights from affecting your background as of here.
The best way to add noise is to create 50% black color convert it to a smart object then add noise to this, this being said can be improved when selecting blend modes it can more easily be integrated in the picture. Try it you might like it
I'm so guilty of this, just recently I realized that what annoyed me about my renders was the lack of love for the process, so I started working on it, just yesterday I spent almost the whole day trying to get the perfect wood material. It's a bit too much but the next time I'll be faster. Btw, for the noise part in photoshop, try the different blend modes other than the standard, I feel like some of them blend better with the render
Nice! Have you ever considered using Octane Render instead of Cycles Render? I'd like to switch but I'm not aware of all the difficulties and solve the issues.
hi, please tell me what blender courses did you watch to learn? where should I start and what should I learn next? i want to move in your direction) i really like cosmetics. what lessons would be the best. thank you 🤗 sorry if there are mistakes in the text.

I'm sure you know but light linking could help with controlling and making your lighting so much better!
Love your frank and authentic approach to this. Keep making this kinda content.

Hi, please make a video of how you create a label for a product.
I have that problem when it comes to animations because I cba waiting hours again. Basically I need to do more test renders to catch the flaws
My client really send me the Sweet Dreams as an example for there product renders that they want the coincidence sheesh
Great!!!

Excellent advice, thank you.
Also, it's sad times we're living in that you have to keep saying "Don't go after this person" ☹
