As someone graduating from uni next year and looking to make a career out of 3D design, I really enjoy watching your videos. Keep it up!!!
Really good advice dude. I have thrown a lot of 'darts' over the years but this is something that really helps things come together when you have a particular skill set under your belt. Fish where the fish are indeed!
Good to know people make actually good income from this. Would be nice to tell us about how you approach your clients so that you don't end up working without payment. This is the main reason why people prefer to use various platforms as a 3rd party between client and the 3D designer.

Nice video, wanted to know your opinion on " Sora " the latest text to video A.I model. I saw it's results and not gonna lie, it's way to real to be true. Do you think it will replace us as 3-D artist?
I made a video about AI right before this video and then about a week later, Sora was announced so it became immediately outdated haha, still check it out if you want: ruclips.net/video/s6R758Wvmwc/видео.html There's no denying that Sora is very good and will only get better. The sheer number of industries that AI is about to affect (and already has) is gonna be very large and it's hard to predict exactly how this will all play out. I'd say for now, there's no downside to getting comfortable with freelancing, learning to sell services to people, and building connections in the design world. Worst case scenario; in 3 years AI will have completely replaced 3D artists (unlikely for a lot of reasons), but you will have a lot of skills applicable to other industries. I think human communication is about to get very important. Keep an eye on AI, use new AI tools as they become available. The AI takeover isn't going to happen overnight. If 3D render work really becomes obsolete, it will fizzle out over a period of time and we'll see it coming. I'm personally still building
I feel that it will not still affect we freelance demand. We have a lot of image generation AI but if we look at the statistics of photographer or an artist you will not they are still in great demand. My opinion, the ai will come but we would surely adapt and still make out money. WE ARE HUMANS
You mentioned no longer being one-man team. Can you share your experience with delegation, assigning parts of your workflow on others? I had a bit of a team lead experience but it was just a job, not my own business. I'm pretty sure there are caveats especially if your field of operation is predominantly online.
I've basically just picked a few people out of my Discord server who have been well-qualified to help with some of the things I needed to delegate. I get that I'm in a unique situation as I can hand-pick artists out of my own community but that's just what has worked for me lol. I have an opportunities channel in that server so if you're looking for some work, feel free to post an offer in there. I'm sure you'll get a number of people reaching out to you quickly.

For your first question, it's really hard to answer since it fully depends on your quality of work and the effort you put into getting clients. You could get your first client in the first week if your work and brand appearance is awesome but you could also not get a client for months simply because you don't make your services easy enough to find/attractive enough for possible clients.

Thanks for the video mate. I know you've made a video about AI already, but there's a text to video AI that looks really good. What are your thoughts on that? I'm sure you've seen it
Hello, thank you for your videos they’re really informative! I’m new to the 3D world, and I would like to ask about the best PC for fast rendering. I did my first animation with only 160 frames in Blender with my laptop, but the rendering stayed for a week. I realized I’m not patient at all 😅
Glad you like! For "best pc", there is basically no ceiling. You can spend $50,000+ on a PC. I'd say for a reasonable budget, make sure your GPU is at least an RTX 3060 - should be pretty budget-friendly.
Hey guys, I have a question Id like an answer to…. So basically I have started using blender again after a longer time and I find it quite enjoyable and Id like to improve and possibly make a living in the future… however I keep seeing more and more insane clips of the new AI that can make photorealistic videos in just seconds and I’m afraid I will learn blender for years only for some AI to take my job… do you think AI is gonna take animators and graphic designer’s jobs in the near future and is it still worth learning blender for a living? If it is worth the time and effort please tell me why because I’m a bit stuck 😅
We talk a lot about that in his discord server. Anyway, IMO, I don't think A.I will take over completely, but rather merge with the current 3d pipeline, A.I will just make some parts or even most parts of the pipeline easier for us, 3d artists.
Yeah hard to say for sure what it's gonna do. My video before this one was about AI but then like 5 days later, Sora was announced. I don't think now is the time to panic and flee to a different industry, especially since most computer-type skills are under threat. Keep an eye on AI and the new tools but we're good for the time being
It depends on what your learning abilities and opportunities are (willingness and ability to learn quickly, enough free time to study for years, suitable learning environment, etc.), if you can become very good in one or several areas of 3D, maybe you will have good career chances in this field. If not, you won't be able to compete with the many new and old 3D artists who have more experience than you. One of the problems with AI is that not only companies will need fewer and more experienced specialists, but also that AI allows potential customers and people with no experience to generate the things they need and don't need to hire specialists for this.
Honestly, from Minecraft youtube to this is a really cute journey lol. Gl out there lad. Do you think you'd ever go back to making a gaming channel haha
Another great tip is - sell the result/outcome not the product. I.e. you're not selling 3D renders, you're selling more credibility, leading to higher conversions, leading to more moneyyyy.
Thanks for the info that’s great information which will really help. I have a question, please what will $500 work look like? What can I offer that will be valued at that
It totally depends who the client is. For some clients that's a drop in the bucket and for others it's gonna be the biggest business expense they've ever faced. That's why it's important to do research on who your client is before you give them a quote and to be okay telling a client that you won't work for their low budget. It will take a while to get to the point where all of your clients will be able to work with your higher prices, but these kinds of connections come from consistently putting out good work and earning referrals.
I'm still at the point where I'm asking myself where can I get clients. I'm good with blender, not the best but at least I'm good.. but I haven't gotten any client and it's depressing.
Loving your videos, just wanted to clarify, the key thing is to make a strong portfolio with 3 of my best works and a good website. Then reach out to big clients... ?
I personally feel like a website for portfolio purposes is waste given that you can just show your work off on artstation for free; a website makes sense if you have other stuff on there like a blog or ways to actually convert clicks to clients.... but given that artstation has millions of users already while a startup website with just a portfolio probably isnt going to draw much attention so maybe focus on your portfolio for now and when you know you have enough of a following start a website. As for your portfolio, whether its art or accounting you only want to show off your strongest works because people will judge you on your weakest work. So if you only have three good works then post those, if you only have 4 or 2 then start with that and build it up as you go...
Not necessarily big clients off the bat when you have no reputation - definitely good to start somewhere where you can set realistic goals and hit them. You can work your way up to bigger clients gradually over the course of a year or less for sure
Yeah I think this is mostly true - artstation is a good starting place and can save you trouble with building a site but like I said in the video, when you work your way up, artstation can give "starving artist", "solo" vibes and hurt your chances with larger clients. At least from a brand owners' perspective that's how it may look
hahah everyone's on their own path... If it feels right, go for it. There have definitely been times where web design skills have been helpful to have and I try not to live with regrets. I just recommended what I said for the sake of optimization and efficiency
Let me know if you have any questions or are unclear about anything! I try to provide as much value on this channel as possible by giving objective steps and directions. Feel free to ask
Lol, I make $3.50 a hour as a 3D artist freelancer, I have 4 years of experience, I have tried to apply for higher paying jobs but they are just ignored, any advice?
i would say get good, show off your assets in a professional manner, and take the lead in chats with your clients. make them crawl to you and not the other way around

It will take a while to get to the point where all of your clients will be able to work with your higher prices, but these kinds of connections come from consistently putting out good work and earning referrals.
@@renderer thanks man I really appreciate
I'm still at the point where I'm asking myself where can I get clients. I'm good with blender, not the best but at least I'm good.. but I haven't gotten any client and it's depressing.
I have a video that covers what I did but it's becoming time for an update - coming soon! ruclips.net/video/STHcy8e5_l0/видео.html
Loving your videos, just wanted to clarify, the key thing is to make a strong portfolio with 3 of my best works and a good website. Then reach out to big
clients...
THX for the advice :) @@thivolan3d
Not necessarily big clients off the bat when you have no reputation - definitely good to start somewhere where you can set realistic goals and hit them. You can work your way up to bigger clients gradually over the course of a year or less for sure
Yeah I think this is mostly true - artstation is a good starting place and can save you trouble with building a site but like I said in the video, when you work your way up, artstation can give "starving artist", "solo" vibes and hurt your chances with larger clients. At least from a brand owners' perspective that's how it may look
What you are doing is providing incredibly valuable knowledge from experience in your videos and comments. THX! ") @@renderer
Wow
how to outreach professionally clients as a 3d artist ?
I made a video about this, but it will be getting an update soon ruclips.net/video/STHcy8e5_l0/видео.html
been a hot minute
Can you show the website?
Me making me site and learning webflow while watching this 😂
hahah everyone's on their own path... If it feels right, go for it. There have definitely been times where web design skills have been helpful to have and I try not to live with regrets. I just recommended what I said for the sake of optimization and efficiency
Also, if you checkout andrew tate's 100 lesson course you will find thispart in the first lesson
LOL never seen those but good advice
I didn't get anything from this video. Seems just a video about the what, not the how to get clicks and subs.
Let me know if you have any questions or are unclear about anything! I try to provide as much value on this channel as possible by giving objective steps and directions. Feel free to ask
Lol, I make $3.50 a hour as a 3D artist freelancer, I have 4 years of experience, I have tried to apply for higher paying jobs but they are just ignored, any advice?
i would say get good, show off your assets in a professional manner, and take the lead in chats with your clients. make them crawl to you and not the other way around
i badly wanna see your portfolio
@@humanharddrive1 Thanks for the advice bro, I'll do this!
share your id or insta to see your work how you have grown in this 4 years!!
