In Super Mario Party, because Shy Guy was playable, they actually made Fly Guy blue to differentiate him from Shy Guy, so I think that would be a great idea for this roster.
I think Pianta and Pom Pom would most likely be heavy weights and if it’s unbalanced, I feel like they could retroactively make Rosalina and Pauline heavier medium weights. Speaking of which, I know Mario Kart Double Dash was on the GameCube and Pianta and Noki are from Super Mario Sunshine but they haven’t been really relevant as of late, especially the latter. As others suggested and later acknowledged, I think characters like Nabbit, Wiggler, Spike, Kamek, Hammer bro or even Monty Mole could be included, even though their partners aren’t obvious. Additionally, I also think each special item should be unique to a pair even though it would require a lot of items to be made.
One idea I had while watching this video was pairing up Pauline with Mini-Mario. I think that'd be a pretty cute character to have and very distinct compared to other variants of Mario. I also think Shy Guy's special item could be something from Super Mario Bros 2, like the POW Block, the veggies or the stopwatch.
The POW block would be a fun item to include again, and it can already kinda just... work like it did in MKWii. Tricking can "dodge" it (for lack of better term) but still cause item drops, or maybe in this game, if you "dodge" it successfully, you only lose one item? With that in mind, I'd love to see more items be droppable. perhaps losing a golden mushroom can give people like, free ultra miniturbos or something? And a ground shock would be devastating, too!
If we have to have clones, I'd swap Metal Mario and Pink Gold Peach with Dr. Mario and Mr. L. There's not much of a reason that I pair these two together other than the fact I think it's cool. Dr. Mario's special would be the pills from Tour and have either the capsule kart from Tour or a kart based on an ambulance, whereas Mr. L gets a thunder ball, which acts like the fireballs but shrinks the opponent like lightning. His kart would also reference Brobot from SPM, looking similar to the Turbo Yoshi/Turbo Birdo karts.
In love with the idea of a Pianta and a Noki. Only thing I'd do differently is change the Noki to the old man variant and maybe give the Pianta a moustache.
I think the character pairs you came up with, as a whole, are quite interesting. One character combination idea that I think could work really well is King K. Rool and Kritter ;o)
The super item for Shy guy/Fly guy could be the vegetable maker in the fight with Wart that shoots projectiles in random directions that last a few seconds before disappearing
I would've given Shy Guy and Sniffit a giant turnip item to reference Mario Bros 2 (Not Lost Levels), as well as the fact that shy guy's throw turnips nowadays as seen in the side modes of the Mario & Luigi remakes
I have two suggestions. *Pianta and Noki’s special item should be a Shine Sprite. It gives them a consistent boost like Wii’s thundercloud. But instead of a hot potato lightning strike, the Shine Sprite projects a blinding aura that obstructs the screen of anyone in range. *I kind of want to see Nabbit in the game with his special item being that bag of his. Either it could act like a hybrid between Boo a banana peel, stealing the item of the first person to run into it. Or it could actually do something useful with coins. Using the bag allows Nabbit to exchange the coins he’s carrying for a big bonus of some kind (either speed boosts or other items that vary in strength based on how many coins they spend) The problem is I have no idea who his partner could be.
I like the idea for Dropping the item bag and then it stealing an item. At first I thought you were gonna say it captures whoever runs into it for like 2 seconds or something lol(Or maybe like maximum 5 seconds but the person can mash buttons to get out faster)

What about Link and Zelda as a character combination? We already have Link as a playable character in Mariokart 8, so why not pair Princess Zelda with him. Their special item would be the light arrows.
Maybe to get around the Kong issue, you could go another direction with the series? King K. Rool and Kritter might be interesting, with their item being a Klaptrap. It could sit like a banana or wander a small radius, and try to chase racers down as they pass, clamping onto the kart and slowing them down for a duration. The kart could be based on the Blast-O-Matic from DK64 too.
Nice roster idea. The only thing I’m iffy about is Metal Mario and Pink Gold Peach’s special item. I don’t think it’s a great idea to have a pair have two different special items, which I guess makes it harder on what special item they can get. But I guess I’d just have Tanooki Mario and Tanooki Luigi/Peach instead with the Tanooki power up as their special item. And I think Pianta should be a heavyweight instead of a medium weight.
I'm sure their special item could be a bit better, or more creative. But I don't see too much of an issue with sharing multiple items given that's how double dash works anyway with mixed pairs. And some pairs like Koopa/Paratroopa do have 2 different special items anyway. And yeah, Pianta could probably be heavy. I was just trying to include more medium weights because I had too many heavy/light
If you wanted to include the guest characters from MK8, then their pairs could be Link and Zelda, Inkling and Octoling, and Villager and Isabelle. I also had the idea of bringing R.O.B. back alongside either Professor Hector (the scientist from R.O.B.’s games) or his overseas counterpart. As for an original pair, I think Professor E. Gadd and Gooigi could be an interesting choice.
If Cranky were to be an addition, pair him up with K. Rool. It may seem random until you remember they were revealed to be long time friends in the cartoon lol
Overall, a very solid list imo. Personally, I'd do the following adjustments though: Shy Guy × Dry Bones -> would be a cool reference to the Super Mario Movie Dry Bowser × Kamek -> these two hang around quite often. Rosalina × Pauline -> I think if Cappy flew around Pauline similarly to how Luma flows around Rosalina you'd have much more of the characters. I also think Rosa and Pauline are a very satisfying pairing due to their weight class and aesthetic similarities, which Double Dash puts an emphasis on. They are also both rulers in their own ways. The rest is pretty accurate imo. Especially love King Whomp because I would've thought of Chain Chomp instead due to his reappearence in the latest Tennis game.
For Boo to work, you'd have to give the actual King Boo color for it, so they can actually feel different instead of making King Boo feel like "Just a Boo with a Crown".
A dog duo: Poochy and Polterpup Kart - Spikey dog bowl Special - Bone 🦴. Throws 3 horizontal spinning bones that hover over the ground similar to the boomerang item. Can hit more than one player per bone.
One combo I would kill for is easily Fawful and Midbus. Ik M&L is currently dead rn due to AlphaDream going bankrupt, but they are an iconic duo, and Fawful just makes me happy.
I’d say Pauline would pair nicely with Cranky, showing how much their partnership has grown ever since the old days. Maybe Cappie could get paired with Tiara, and we could bring in Mallow and Geno.
Interesting combo's, I would change up some stuff: - replace Paratroopa with the Koopa General from the Mario Movie - replace Sniffit with Kamek (both primarily Yoshi Island) - replace Cappy with Funky Kong - replace Whomp King with Nabbit... might have no connection, but has random secret pair vibes - with the remaining duo I would have the obscure choice of Fawful and Popple
An idea I came up with is a normal enemy with a beefed up.boss variant as their partner(like goomba and king goomba) (it would be funny to see armless characters race)
Missed opportunity BC Pac Man and Blinky would've been the perfect crossover duo and let's be honest, Double dash was around the time when Arcade GP Exists so that couldve been better!!!! Not to mention, it's not a Mario kart game without Crossover characters.
Btw, their signature karts are The Pac buggy and the Ghost Buggy which it's stats are similar to Mario's Signature kart and the Exclusive kart to Blinky is the Ghost Plane which is a Heavyweight kart. Their signiture items are the Power Pellet which is a Shorter version of the star and the shock baton that hits enemies up close.
Funky Kong and Dixie Kong could be “alternate costumes” for DK and Diddy, so that neither of them are separated! As for who should take their place, maybe Toadsworth and E. Gadd? Admittedly, they’re an odd pairing, but they’re both elderly and have interacted in Partners in Time. Edit: inspired by someone else’s comment, I feel like Kamek and Toady (the red Magikoopa) would be a much better combination.

gotta consider the fact irl the motorsport is mainly dominated by males anyways. not trying to be rude. just stating the obvious. besides a females body is just meant to produced babies. not take the very physical abuse a male does. a good example is danica patrick and she didnt get too far in the motorsport of NASCAR much less formula 1
And also, if you get a perfect score, instead of getting a gold trophy, you get a PLATINUM trophy and lots and shiny jewels and gemstones and other fancy details
I think Kamek would work better with Shy Guy since Fly Guy and Sniffit would look the same as Shy Guy from behind. Kamek and Shy Guy are both enemies in the Yoshi games, so I think they would go together well.
Metal Mario and Metal Peach is great pair except for the item. In Double Dash, pairs have access to the same item except with the Koopas with shells with similar behaviors. A better item for them would be the Metal Cap. This would activate their metal protection and make them impervious to item attacks and also further increase their weight stat to surpass the Koopa King or the Pipe Karts. It wouldn't knock players off their karts or make them loose items or ignore environmental dmg like the Star.
I made a concept for a Mario kart triple trouble whit 3 characters in one kart. Some team examples are: Mario, Luigi and Yoshi. Peach, Daisy and Birdo as counterpart to them. Wario, Waluigi and Nabbit. (It works so well.) And Bowser, Bowser Jr and Kamek.
That would be pretty interesting. Here's some more pairs: Koopa, Paratroop and Dry Bones Hammer, Fire and Ice Bros Baby Mario, Luigi and Wario Baby Peach, Daisy and Rosalina DK, Diddy and either Dixie or Funky Rosalina, Luma and Lubba King Boo, King Bob-omb and Petey Piranha Toad, Toadette and either Toadsworth or Captain Toad.

Here is what I would love for Mario Kart. Title: maybe SUPER Mario Kart Double Dash or something like that. Customization: customization for each combination of characters and vehicles should be different from others, having their own unique parts to choose from. No two combination sets being alike. Each two characters get a variety of parts and paint jobs to choose from. Coins: Still function in the racing like in 7 and 8, but also, all the coins you collect in the race will also be used as currency to buy more parts and paint jobs. Courses: Like in 7 and 8, but also maybe add in eventually almost if not all the courses from all past games. And maybe some courses if not all of them go through changes during races Special Items: Special items should return. Like the bros' fireball bursts and Bowser's giant shell and maybe new special items for each character like Mario having a cape feather to fly over everyone and gain a good boost in speed. But it would only last shortly or til you slam the ground blowing away all around you. X3 Stats: Stats should also be able to be tweeked some after you select your vehicle parts. Like say if you want to reduce your weight for the sake of more handling or your traction for better acceleration. But only a limited amount to keep the game balanced. We don't want the speedy cool vehicles like b dasher and P wing to suffer like they did in 8 Deluxe Trophies: For More difficult classes you finish and win, the trophies should get bigger, shinier and more detailed. And If you get a perfect score in a cup, instead of a gold trophy, you oughta get a SHINY SPARKLY FANCY DETAILS PLATINUM TROPHY. Most importantly, it needs to have all karts bikes mtvs and combos worthy of being awesome in competitive online. Speed vehicles being REALLY speedy to make up for low acceleration. And MAYBE a decent mini turbo in case they get slammed alot. Also keep 200cc and all cup tour
Roster isnt bad and honestly for a sequel to MKDD, any new characters added on to the base roster of Double Dash is fine for me. But with that being said, imo Pauline should be medium weight, ik she's tall but I just feel medium is more fitting, idk(Im kind of comparing Waluigi since he's also tall but a medium weight in DD), but Pianta's should DEFINITELY be heavy weights imo. Having Dixie isnt a bad idea at all, but me personally for Funky Kong, I would pair him with Candy Kong(Or We can have Dixie with Kiddy Kong, I saw someone else say this and I kinda love this idea). And lastly Pom pom has to be a heavy weight. Thats all my critiques but again, any new addition to MKDD's roster is fine so im good with anything, plus you have some perfect teams imo, with King Bob-Omb and Whomp King, Pinata and Noki, Pauline and Cappy, a lot of thse3 pairs would be so cool in a MKDD sequel!
I would buff the babies chain chomp to make you invincible for the duration like bullet bill (also shock doge). Its dumb when your chomp is wasted sometimes.
1:23 or we could have one of those arrow nosed enemies form wario Land 3 where it would walk around the track and use its sharp nose to flatten the tires of enemy karts which would make them slower but it can be defeated by dashing into it with a mushroom, star, gold mushroom or a bullet bill or or a chainchomp and it could slip on a banana making you able to knock it out without a mushroom

Rosalina with Lubba, Pauline with Foreman Spike, Geno with Mallow, Baby Daisy with Baby Peach is fine, Wart with Tatanga, Funky with Tiny, Dixie with Kiddy, the Dry Duo is fine, Pom Pom with Boom Boom is fine and lastly King Bob-omb should be with Honey Queen. If they added 20 more as DLC characters I'd probably choose Iggy with Larry, Morton with Roy, Wendy with Kamek, Lemmy with Ludwig, Ashley with Syrup, Stanley with DK Jr, Rudy with Dr. Scienstein, K. Rool with Kalypso, Smithy with Valentina and lastly E. Gadd with Wanda.
I would change peachs and daisys special item, so that it only works on special items. To me this is a buff, because you won't pick up "trash items" like green shells or regular bananas.
Bro when I was a kid I literally had the idea for a double dash sequel where there was four in a kart that’s crazy. Really the only to notable groups I thought of was peach, daisy, rosalina, and pauline, then king boo, petey, king bobomb, and goomboss
Luigi's Mansion duo Ideas Professor E. Gadd and one of the normal ghosts (probably the yellow ghost, which E.Gadd encounters in his first cutscene) or maybe even one of the boss ghosts like Chauncey (baby ghost) from LM1. Kart could be the poltergeist from Mario Kart DS and Chauncey's crib. Special could be the poltergeist which can pull other racers closer to more easily land the classic double dash punch/shove. Another idea for the poltergeist is that it uses the strobe light from LM2 to blind other players or stun them. Chauncey's special could be the rattling toy he uses, violently whacking anyone that is nearby. Henry and Orville (ghost twins from LM1). Their karts could be the toy train and toy plane they use in their bossfight. Their special could be the boxes they hide inside of. These could act like a "Jack in the box" which when placed, springs out and attacks anyone within a small radius. Gooigi and Polterpup(LM2/LM3) Their karts could be some type of gooey car and another one is a spiked dog bowl 😅(a reference to the dog, Spooky from LM1 and his spiky collar). Their special could be slippery goo that is similar to mud/puddles found in some of the Mario kart tracks. Stays activated for a bit meaning it can hit multiple drivers even after someone already has drove over it.
Guest characters could work given 8 DLC. I pick Ness and Lucas. They would be light or medium weight. Item could be the ramblin mushroom that could mirror controls (left is right and vise versa) kart could be a Mr. Saturn and a Drago.
Paper Mario Duo Ideas Paper Mario and Paper Luigi or one of the partners from PM1/PM2(probably Goombario or Goombella, the first partners of both games) Karts: Paper boat or paper plane (Paper Mario's transformations from TTYD) Special ideas: Hammer - Whack multiple nearby opponents Star Spirit (PM64/ Crystal Star (TTYD) - Lullaby Star Spirit power which puts enemies asleep. Mash to wake up. Chill Out Star Spirit power which freezes enemies. Mash to break out. Star Storm Star Spirit power which hails down stars onto the track. Timeout Star Spirit power which freezes the opponent in place for a while. Earth Tremor Crystal Star power which acts as a P.O.W. block. Time input to avoid spinning out. Pixl (Super Paper Mario) Boomer pixl - acts as bomb Huey(Color Splash) - splats paint on the track acting as a slippery puddle or a blooper covering the opponent's screen with paint. Giant Paper Fan (Origami King) - huge gust of wind blowing opponents away messing with their driving 1000 Fold Arms(Origami King) - Grab an opponent and throw them away or perform a barrage of punches.
I think dry bones’ special item should be the bone he throws in the older games. It could be kind of like the boomerang flower, but only coming back twice.
I also think for the kongs you could pair tiny with either lanky or chunky, considering double dash comes from that era of unique and obscure characters a la pianta and noki
I would choose DK Jr instead of Cappy because he's less of a character and more of a item (Also because it could fit as both Pauline and Dk Jr are retro charaters). He could probably work as a item to control another driver's car or to change spots with someone.

Two more kongs I'd like to see cranky and wrinkly in the game cuz that would be kind of fun I know they didn't appear in any of the Mario kart games and I know this is the last thing anyone ever wants to hear but they were in another racing game. Which I love very much.
Just for some third party rep maybe Sonic & Tails? Idk I feel like at a certain point, Sonic *should* be added to Mario Kart considering his games are all about speed. And yes Ik SEGA already has the all-star racing games but they haven’t released one since 2012. And it’d be nice to see the blue blue featured in a game alongside Mario aside from the Olympics games (or Smash for that matter)

I think Pianta and Pom Pom would most likely be heavy weights and if it’s unbalanced, I feel like they could retroactively make Rosalina and Pauline heavier medium weights.
Speaking of which, I know Mario Kart Double Dash was on the GameCube and Pianta and Noki are from Super Mario Sunshine but they haven’t been really relevant as of late, especially the latter.
As others suggested and later acknowledged, I think characters like Nabbit, Wiggler, Spike, Kamek, Hammer bro or even Monty Mole could be included, even though their partners aren’t obvious.
Additionally, I also think each special item should be unique to a pair even though it would require a lot of items to be made.
I wish a new Mario Kart game could include Warioware characters like Ashley, Mona, Red, Penny, and Warioman

One idea I had while watching this video was pairing up Pauline with Mini-Mario. I think that'd be a pretty cute character to have and very distinct compared to other variants of Mario. I also think Shy Guy's special item could be something from Super Mario Bros 2, like the POW Block, the veggies or the stopwatch.
The POW block would be a fun item to include again, and it can already kinda just... work like it did in MKWii.
Tricking can "dodge" it (for lack of better term) but still cause item drops, or maybe in this game, if you "dodge" it successfully, you only lose one item?
With that in mind, I'd love to see more items be droppable. perhaps losing a golden mushroom can give people like, free ultra miniturbos or something? And a ground shock would be devastating, too!
If we have to have clones, I'd swap Metal Mario and Pink Gold Peach with Dr. Mario and Mr. L. There's not much of a reason that I pair these two together other than the fact I think it's cool. Dr. Mario's special would be the pills from Tour and have either the capsule kart from Tour or a kart based on an ambulance, whereas Mr. L gets a thunder ball, which acts like the fireballs but shrinks the opponent like lightning. His kart would also reference Brobot from SPM, looking similar to the Turbo Yoshi/Turbo Birdo karts.

I have two suggestions.
*Pianta and Noki’s special item should be a Shine Sprite. It gives them a consistent boost like Wii’s thundercloud. But instead of a hot potato lightning strike, the Shine Sprite projects a blinding aura that obstructs the screen of anyone in range.
*I kind of want to see Nabbit in the game with his special item being that bag of his. Either it could act like a hybrid between Boo a banana peel, stealing the item of the first person to run into it. Or it could actually do something useful with coins. Using the bag allows Nabbit to exchange the coins he’s carrying for a big bonus of some kind (either speed boosts or other items that vary in strength based on how many coins they spend)
The problem is I have no idea who his partner could be.
Him and Peachette sadly make the most sense because of Mario Wonder. Conceivably a Popline or Prince Florian would be really cool though!
I like the idea for Dropping the item bag and then it stealing an item. At first I thought you were gonna say it captures whoever runs into it for like 2 seconds or something lol(Or maybe like maximum 5 seconds but the person can mash buttons to get out faster)

Maybe to get around the Kong issue, you could go another direction with the series? King K. Rool and Kritter might be interesting, with their item being a Klaptrap. It could sit like a banana or wander a small radius, and try to chase racers down as they pass, clamping onto the kart and slowing them down for a duration.
The kart could be based on the Blast-O-Matic from DK64 too.
Nice roster idea. The only thing I’m iffy about is Metal Mario and Pink Gold Peach’s special item. I don’t think it’s a great idea to have a pair have two different special items, which I guess makes it harder on what special item they can get. But I guess I’d just have Tanooki Mario and Tanooki Luigi/Peach instead with the Tanooki power up as their special item. And I think Pianta should be a heavyweight instead of a medium weight.
I'm sure their special item could be a bit better, or more creative. But I don't see too much of an issue with sharing multiple items given that's how double dash works anyway with mixed pairs. And some pairs like Koopa/Paratroopa do have 2 different special items anyway.
And yeah, Pianta could probably be heavy. I was just trying to include more medium weights because I had too many heavy/light
How about Henry and Orville from Luigi's Mansion. Their special item can be a Boo.
If you wanted to include the guest characters from MK8, then their pairs could be Link and Zelda, Inkling and Octoling, and Villager and Isabelle. I also had the idea of bringing R.O.B. back alongside either Professor Hector (the scientist from R.O.B.’s games) or his overseas counterpart. As for an original pair, I think Professor E. Gadd and Gooigi could be an interesting choice.
If Cranky were to be an addition, pair him up with K. Rool. It may seem random until you remember they were revealed to be long time friends in the cartoon lol
Overall, a very solid list imo. Personally, I'd do the following adjustments though:
Shy Guy × Dry Bones -> would be a cool reference to the Super Mario Movie
Dry Bowser × Kamek -> these two hang around quite often.
Rosalina × Pauline -> I think if Cappy flew around Pauline similarly to how Luma flows around Rosalina you'd have much more of the characters. I also think Rosa and Pauline are a very satisfying pairing due to their weight class and aesthetic similarities, which Double Dash puts an emphasis on. They are also both rulers in their own ways.
The rest is pretty accurate imo. Especially love King Whomp because I would've thought of Chain Chomp instead due to his reappearence in the latest Tennis game.
For Boo to work, you'd have to give the actual King Boo color for it, so they can actually feel different instead of making King Boo feel like "Just a Boo with a Crown".

Special - Bone 🦴. Throws 3 horizontal spinning bones that hover over the ground similar to the boomerang item. Can hit more than one player per bone.

One combo I would kill for is easily Fawful and Midbus. Ik M&L is currently dead rn due to AlphaDream going bankrupt, but they are an iconic duo, and Fawful just makes me happy.
I’d say Pauline would pair nicely with Cranky, showing how much their partnership has grown ever since the old days. Maybe Cappie could get paired with Tiara, and we could bring in Mallow and Geno.

Interesting combo's, I would change up some stuff:
- replace Paratroopa with the Koopa General from the Mario Movie
- replace Sniffit with Kamek (both primarily Yoshi Island)
- replace Cappy with Funky Kong
- replace Whomp King with Nabbit... might have no connection, but has random secret pair vibes
- with the remaining duo I would have the obscure choice of Fawful and Popple
An idea I came up with is a normal enemy with a beefed up.boss variant as their partner(like goomba and king goomba) (it would be funny to see armless characters race)
Missed opportunity BC Pac Man and Blinky would've been the perfect crossover duo and let's be honest, Double dash was around the time when Arcade GP Exists so that couldve been better!!!! Not to mention, it's not a Mario kart game without Crossover characters.
Btw, their signature karts are The Pac buggy and the Ghost Buggy which it's stats are similar to Mario's Signature kart and the Exclusive kart to Blinky is the Ghost Plane which is a Heavyweight kart.
Their signiture items are the Power Pellet which is a Shorter version of the star and the shock baton that hits enemies up close.
Could have used Candy kong and tiny kong, white shygal to differentiate them from shyguy and represent Yoshi's story from the 64 and maybe toadsworth

Funky Kong and Dixie Kong could be “alternate costumes” for DK and Diddy, so that neither of them are separated! As for who should take their place, maybe Toadsworth and E. Gadd? Admittedly, they’re an odd pairing, but they’re both elderly and have interacted in Partners in Time.
Edit: inspired by someone else’s comment, I feel like Kamek and Toady (the red Magikoopa) would be a much better combination.

gotta consider the fact irl the motorsport is mainly dominated by males anyways. not trying to be rude. just stating the obvious. besides a females body is just meant to produced babies. not take the very physical abuse a male does. a good example is danica patrick and she didnt get too far in the motorsport of NASCAR much less formula 1

I think Kamek would work better with Shy Guy since Fly Guy and Sniffit would look the same as Shy Guy from behind. Kamek and Shy Guy are both enemies in the Yoshi games, so I think they would go together well.
I feel like the 'two player characters' idea. Would make a cool mode for other mario kart games.
Metal Mario and Metal Peach is great pair except for the item. In Double Dash, pairs have access to the same item except with the Koopas with shells with similar behaviors.
A better item for them would be the Metal Cap. This would activate their metal protection and make them impervious to item attacks and also further increase their weight stat to surpass the Koopa King or the Pipe Karts. It wouldn't knock players off their karts or make them loose items or ignore environmental dmg like the Star.

Some team examples are: Mario, Luigi and Yoshi.
Peach, Daisy and Birdo as counterpart to them.
Wario, Waluigi and Nabbit. (It works so well.)
And Bowser, Bowser Jr and Kamek.
That would be pretty interesting.

Here is what I would love for Mario Kart.
Title: maybe SUPER Mario Kart Double Dash or something like that.
Customization: customization for each combination of characters and vehicles should be different from others, having their own unique parts to choose from. No two combination sets being alike. Each two characters get a variety of parts and paint jobs to choose from.
Coins: Still function in the racing like in 7 and 8, but also, all the coins you collect in the race will also be used as currency to buy more parts and paint jobs.
Courses: Like in 7 and 8, but also maybe add in eventually almost if not all the courses from all past games. And maybe some courses if not all of them go through changes during races
Special Items: Special items should return. Like the bros' fireball bursts and Bowser's giant shell and maybe new special items for each character like Mario having a cape feather to fly over everyone and gain a good boost in speed. But it would only last shortly or til you slam the ground blowing away all around you. X3
Stats: Stats should also be able to be tweeked some after you select your vehicle parts. Like say if you want to reduce your weight for the sake of more handling or your traction for better acceleration. But only a limited amount to keep the game balanced.
We don't want the speedy cool vehicles like b dasher and P wing to suffer like they did in 8 Deluxe
Trophies: For More difficult classes you finish and win, the trophies should get bigger, shinier and more detailed.
And If you get a perfect score in a cup, instead of a gold trophy, you oughta get a SHINY SPARKLY FANCY DETAILS PLATINUM TROPHY.
Most importantly, it needs to have all karts bikes mtvs and combos worthy of being awesome in competitive online.
Speed vehicles being REALLY speedy to make up for low acceleration. And MAYBE a decent mini turbo in case they get slammed alot.

Roster isnt bad and honestly for a sequel to MKDD, any new characters added on to the base roster of Double Dash is fine for me. But with that being said, imo Pauline should be medium weight, ik she's tall but I just feel medium is more fitting, idk(Im kind of comparing Waluigi since he's also tall but a medium weight in DD), but Pianta's should DEFINITELY be heavy weights imo. Having Dixie isnt a bad idea at all, but me personally for Funky Kong, I would pair him with Candy Kong(Or We can have Dixie with Kiddy Kong, I saw someone else say this and I kinda love this idea). And lastly Pom pom has to be a heavy weight. Thats all my critiques but again, any new addition to MKDD's roster is fine so im good with anything, plus you have some perfect teams imo, with King Bob-Omb and Whomp King, Pinata and Noki, Pauline and Cappy, a lot of thse3 pairs would be so cool in a MKDD sequel!
How about Conker, and Banjo and Kazooie? That would be a neat pair from rare for a guest appearance

1:23 or we could have one of those arrow nosed enemies form wario Land 3 where it would walk around the track and use its sharp nose to flatten the tires of enemy karts which would make them slower but it can be defeated by dashing into it with a mushroom, star, gold mushroom or a bullet bill or or a chainchomp and it could slip on a banana making you able to knock it out without a mushroom

Fire Flower works like it does in Mario Kart 7/8. Feather is changed to launch you farther so you can boost forward while jumping in the air to avoid obstacles and use short cuts. Dash Ring not work like triple mushrooms. Golden Mushrooms and Triple Green/Red Shell should be able to be used by anyone. Chain Chomp is too overpowered so it is gone.

Here is what I would choose.
Rosalina with Lubba, Pauline with Foreman Spike, Geno with Mallow, Baby Daisy with Baby Peach is fine, Wart with Tatanga, Funky with Tiny, Dixie with Kiddy, the Dry Duo is fine, Pom Pom with Boom Boom is fine and lastly King Bob-omb should be with Honey Queen.
If they added 20 more as DLC characters I'd probably choose Iggy with Larry, Morton with Roy, Wendy with Kamek, Lemmy with Ludwig, Ashley with Syrup, Stanley with DK Jr, Rudy with Dr. Scienstein, K. Rool with Kalypso, Smithy with Valentina and lastly E. Gadd with Wanda.
I would change peachs and daisys special item, so that it only works on special items. To me this is a buff, because you won't pick up "trash items" like green shells or regular bananas.
What about Cranky Kong and Donkey Kong Jr? Considering Cranky is DK Jr's father.

Luigi's Mansion duo Ideas
Professor E. Gadd and one of the normal ghosts (probably the yellow ghost, which E.Gadd encounters in his first cutscene) or maybe even one of the boss ghosts like Chauncey (baby ghost) from LM1. Kart could be the poltergeist from Mario Kart DS and Chauncey's crib. Special could be the poltergeist which can pull other racers closer to more easily land the classic double dash punch/shove. Another idea for the poltergeist is that it uses the strobe light from LM2 to blind other players or stun them. Chauncey's special could be the rattling toy he uses, violently whacking anyone that is nearby.
Henry and Orville (ghost twins from LM1). Their karts could be the toy train and toy plane they use in their bossfight. Their special could be the boxes they hide inside of. These could act like a "Jack in the box" which when placed, springs out and attacks anyone within a small radius.
Gooigi and Polterpup(LM2/LM3)
Their karts could be some type of gooey car and another one is a spiked dog bowl 😅(a reference to the dog, Spooky from LM1 and his spiky collar). Their special could be slippery goo that is similar to mud/puddles found in some of the Mario kart tracks. Stays activated for a bit meaning it can hit multiple drivers even after someone already has drove over it.
Guest characters could work given 8 DLC. I pick Ness and Lucas. They would be light or medium weight. Item could be the ramblin mushroom that could mirror controls (left is right and vise versa) kart could be a Mr. Saturn and a Drago.
Paper Mario Duo Ideas
Paper Mario and Paper Luigi or one of the partners from PM1/PM2(probably Goombario or Goombella, the first partners of both games)
Karts:
Paper boat or paper plane (Paper Mario's transformations from TTYD)
Special ideas:
Hammer - Whack multiple nearby opponents
Star Spirit (PM64/ Crystal Star (TTYD) - Lullaby Star Spirit power which puts enemies asleep. Mash to wake up.
Chill Out Star Spirit power which freezes enemies. Mash to break out.
Star Storm Star Spirit power which hails down stars onto the track.
Timeout Star Spirit power which freezes the opponent in place for a while.
Earth Tremor Crystal Star power which acts as a P.O.W. block. Time input to avoid spinning out.
Pixl (Super Paper Mario)
Boomer pixl - acts as bomb
Huey(Color Splash) - splats paint on the track acting as a slippery puddle or a blooper covering the opponent's screen with paint.
Giant Paper Fan (Origami King) - huge gust of wind blowing opponents away messing with their driving
1000 Fold Arms(Origami King) - Grab an opponent and throw them away or perform a barrage of punches.
I think dry bones’ special item should be the bone he throws in the older games. It could be kind of like the boomerang flower, but only coming back twice.
I also think for the kongs you could pair tiny with either lanky or chunky, considering double dash comes from that era of unique and obscure characters a la pianta and noki
I would choose DK Jr instead of Cappy because he's less of a character and more of a item (Also because it could fit as both Pauline and Dk Jr are retro charaters). He could probably work as a item to control another driver's car or to change spots with someone.
Lakitu and Lakithunder with either Thunder Cloud or Spinies as their special item
I really like the pairings, but throughout the whole video I was thinking "If they were actually going to make a DD sequel wouldn't make more sense to let us choose the pairings instead of them being preprogrammed?"
You can choose combinations in double dash already so that is a given for a sequel.
4:53 or they could have a shine sprite as their special item which would be a tweaked version of the star where instead of giving you invincibility the shine sprite zaps enemy karts and enemy items via the power of the sun with the zapping being less effective on tracks that play at night around you for say 15 seconds

Two more kongs I'd like to see cranky and wrinkly in the game cuz that would be kind of fun I know they didn't appear in any of the Mario kart games and I know this is the last thing anyone ever wants to hear but they were in another racing game. Which I love very much.
Just for some third party rep maybe Sonic & Tails? Idk I feel like at a certain point, Sonic *should* be added to Mario Kart considering his games are all about speed.
And yes Ik SEGA already has the all-star racing games but they haven’t released one since 2012. And it’d be nice to see the blue blue featured in a game alongside Mario aside from the Olympics games (or Smash for that matter)
