My life would be drastically different today if not for physical media and collecting physical media. Here's all the ways that I've found that make it so my hobby is more fun.

Physical media saved my life. I was at a low point when I started collecting. I was depressed and bored and felt kind of lost. Then I found Dolls and After Midnight. Both movies I rented and loved as a kid. I was so thrilled to find these from Scream Factory. Then I discovered companies like Vinegar Syndrome and Synapse. I got very lucky and got a job that paid a little more so I could afford to buy more of these films. Collecting old favorites and discovering new treasures has just meant the world to me. I am so happy now that I have a hobby that brings me so much joy. My life would be so much worse without physical media for sure

I feel the same way as you stated in the video. To me, having a physical copy of a movie that I love is a wonderful feeling. Especially if it's a kick ass release. I was ecstatic when I received my Collector's Edition of Audition, Bruce Lee boxset from Arrow, Star Wars Skywalker Saga, and the 4k steelbooks sets of The Hobbit and LOTR.
Since being on YT (4 months), I've been able to build friendships with physical media collectors and film/horror lovers that I'm not able to in person. Another great feeling is connecting with Content Creators that I've looked up to for years.

I've just started collecting a year ago and I agree completely. It feels amazing to own these beautiful movies in all those special editions and box sets with great artwork and just be able to watch them whenever I want without the fear of them not being available on streaming. My crown jewel is the Anchor Bay Evil Dead Necronomicon book DVD. I hope everyone can get one of it at some point of their lives. Cheers from Mexico!

I’m with you, I started out seeing my dad collecting VHS tapes, after setting cable we stopped buying physical media.
I got back into collecting last year, and I don’t think I could’ve picked a better time to collect than now with 4k and Blu ray. IMO, the boutique labels are the driving force for niche collectors like us (With special editions, packaging) I’m stocked having a collection that reflects my taste in cinema!
It might not be as big as yesteryear, but we’ve got so many awesome options for boutique stuff!
