Longlegs (2024) Movie Review - A Truly Unnerving Experience
As soon as I see a ranking list that doesn't' have the two Bayley albums rock bottom I just click out of the video. The other great insult to injury is Killers being down at the bottom. Also it would be wise to do your research regarding this so called 'punk' sound that believe me doesn't exist on any Maiden album. Maiden are everything that was opposed to the punk sound and the early albums are clearly a raw NWOBHM sound (again something that those of us with experience would know something about) with nods to prog rock. This all seems to be a generation z trait who just regurgitate what they've read in previous articles regarding the punk nonsense and is in fact without foundation. Trust Steve Harris on this, he's telling it how it is... Those of us who have been fans from the beginning and have roots with the band have very different lists almost always. Otherwise good video.
Thanks for the comment! Good thing it's my rankings and not yours, but you're free to make a video of your own!
Here's a tip for next time or really any time you're commenting, especially on my videos, don't come off as condescending on the subject. I'm happy to have a dialogue with people who respect my views, so I can respect theirs. Here's some suggestions: "I don't really like the Bayley albums, but they're high on your list, here's why" "The punk "sound" talking point might not actually be a thing, Steve Harris has said as much, I know your ear might hear it and Di'Anno was a bit of a punk singer, but it's overblown" If you'd like to come back and be nicer about it, I'd love to discuss.
This is absolutely worth it,
Preordered the minute I learned of this. Ultimate set. Would love to be a random winner. If not... might flip the bobble.
The Signed poster is not included in the ultimate edition. Only a few lucky fans will get it randomly if they order the ultimate package.
Lovely haul. I saw Terror at Tenkiller. My god, it was an ordeal to get through!
Not good? Eek, hopefully I can get something out of it.
It’s funny none of the RUclips unboxing I have watched is willing to open side tracks for fear it might be worth something lol. So I got to finally see what the artwork looks like when I opened my copy. Watched the movie today was a fun cheesy watch. The special feature with Oscar from VS doing a road trip was hilarious worth it for that alone lol. Great release glad I supported it. Also the keep looks amazing in 4k. There is a boat scene during a sunrise that’s jaw dropping! Great video as always.
I should have opened it for this video, I'm going to because I want to watch the movie. Not like I'm selling it, haven't sold any of the other yearly goodies that VS has given out.
Yeah no worries it’s just funny none of the RUclips unboxings I have seen not one has opened side roads lol but in a way it’s cool it let me discover it on my own. It’s all good I wasn’t calling you out was just a general observation overall. This was a great Black Friday vs sale maybe the best so far at least for me.
@@brentmadison4477 You're good, you've inspired me to open it! 🤣 But yeah, great VS sale, great titles all around.
Fun movie - pricing a bit high!
Yeah, the "mega boutique" tax is hitting hard on this release.
I love the movie but $50 for just a 4K 1 disc standard edition with a slipcover is a little overpriced. I'm sure eventually this is going to be released in the UK at a better price, or I'll wait for the price to go down on this release in a couple of months on Amazon.
Violent Night is fantastic
I'm in your camp. I have 2,000+ DVD's, Blu rays, and 4K's. I love watching movies. I just purchased the 4K release of "The Frighteners" from Turbine Media. Also recently purchased "The Terminator" in 4k. I also converted my favorites into .mkv files and loaded them on a couple of 4 TB hard drives; I don't need a NAS. These are my collectibles; they are priceless collectibles, and I. Love. It.! I will always buy physical media.
If you aren't collecting 4k yet and you get the blu ray your just a shameful embarrasing virgin. I got the $80 deluxe box set because the only thing guaranteed with the expensive one is the bobble head. No guarantee of the poster and needle. plus if I got the needle i would likely inject my cat with it and who knows how that turns out
I've been waiting on a 4k release of this masterpiece of a movie. I ordered this immediately!
serbian film
I got one around 2008 or 2009 from someone I traded for a bag of weed. It was missing the gun but everything else is there😆. guess he really needed that weed.
Good trade for you! Sounds like you both enjoyed it! 🤣
Gotta disagree with one thing man, I think streaming needs to die , and how that happens is not supporting it, bring movies back to the theater man
Still waiting on the next installment. Love priest nearly as much as maiden so I'd love to see you continue the series, especially considering the albums you've got to cover. I mean part 2 is sad wings of destiny which opens with victim of changes so there's a lot of great stuff there. Love your content mate and I hope you continue this series as well as do an iron maiden a thon covering their live albums as well
2025 will see Judas Priest-A-Thon continue and a new section of Iron Maiden-A-Thon! Thanks for the kind words!
You just placed the bare disk of arrow's Creepshow 2 face down on the surface. Whatever dust particles were on that surface are now stuck on the disc's surface.
I clean my discs after every video I use them in, don't worry.
Deadly Games - Dial code santa claus & Rare Exports seems like they are fit for this list another couple of fun ones .. Santa's Slay w/ Bill Goldberg & newer one i enjoyed was Christmas Bloody Christmas
I limited this one to movies I owned on physical media (besides Terrifier 3), I did see Rare Exports on The Last Drive-In, that was fantastic!
Great list of christmas horror movies here
Thanks for the kind words!
You look like Andrei Arlovski, the MMA fighter.
I'll take that as a complement!
@HunterBoldingVideo "Take it however you want." - Kenny Powers
Dont watch Gremlins with your small Santa believers, as there is that scene where the main love interest is describing how her father dressed up as Santa and died in the chimney "and thats how I found out Santa isnt real!!". We could ONLY watch Gremlins2 when my sons were small
Great album
I've had an interesting relationship with all post 2000s maiden but especially this one. Senjutsu is the first maiden album released since i became a fan. I originally became a fan in late 2017/early 2018 after my dad gave me live after death to listen to in preparation for going to see them in August 2018 on the uk legacy of the beast tour. Especially after that show i became a massive maiden fan but only really of the first 9 albums as although we own the reunion albums, they were never played much if at all so i never grasped on to them. I remember coming home from school one day in july 2021 and finding out from my dad that a new single from maiden had been released. I listened to writing on the wall and immediately loved it and spent the following weekend learning it on drums. Stratego was released as a single later on and i wasn't as big of a fan of that but still enjoyed it. Get to September and senjutsu is released. My dad buys the big casebound deluxe book edition and it just sits in the car glovebox for around a year. Honestly neither me or my dad listened to it for around a year as we just didn't have time as my dad said it was the type of album you needed to listen to over a long car journey. Well after about a year of waiting i put the cd in on my way back from my grandma's and my initial reaction was disappointment due to how meh the album was. I obviously still loved writing on the wall and stratego had grown on me and i also enjoyed days of future past but the rest just seemed like small memorable riffs and moments bogged down by forgettable, overly long and indulgent instrumental sections. So for the longest time that was my opinion. When the future past tour got announced, i was incrediblely excited because i wanted to see them live again and also because i adore somewhere in time but i wasn't really bothered about the senjutsu stuff aside from twotw. I missed out on tickets which was extremely disappointing and annoying, especially when i saw the setlist and saw they were playing caught Somewhere in Time which is my all time favourite maiden song as well as twotw. Following that, i tried listening to senjutsu about 4 more times and still nothing aside from the 3 already mentioned, were leaving any kind of impact and i found it the same with the other reunion albums aside from brave new world. Then one day, i was listening to nights of the dead again and i really appreciated for the greater good of god and sign of the cross for the first time so i tried to give senjutsu another go and still didn't find anything new to latch on to so i assumed i just didn't like what maiden were going for. The change in my attitude came about when the run for your lives tour was announced and i was sat up in my listening to maiden on repeat and death of the celts came on and i immediately loved the opening and how powerful it was. Yes i still think the song could cut around 3 minutes and it'd be better for it but i really enjoyed my experience listening to it. I then listened to the time machine and also enjoyed it, especially after learning it on drums although i kept getting the chorus for that and senjutsu mixed up so i listened to both songs more and now quite like senjutsu although i love time machine. I then listened to hell on earth and that song became stuck in my head and i listened to it on repeat constantly and is my second favourite song on the album behind twotw and is one of my all time favourite maiden songs currently. A similar event happened with the other post bnw albums aside from final frontier which remains my second least favourite maiden album. Now there are only 3 songs on the album i don't particularly enjoy being lost in a lost world, darkest hour and the parchment. I don't dislike them them but i don't enjoy them. So i now consider senjutsu the second best reunion album and it does break into my top ten maiden albums, beating out fear of the dark but I'm not sure if it'll ever be ranked ahead of brave new world and first 8 but then again i never thought it'd be this high after my initial middling feelings and disappointment with it. So yeah, that's my little story on senjutsu and how my opinion changed
Love the story, that's about how it's gone for me lately with the album.
Fates Warning is the best song on No Prayer For The Dying. My guess is Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter though. Fear of the Dark title track gets played. Rime of the Ancient Mariner. They always play Iron Maiden. The Trooper. Hallowed Be Thy Name. From Killers though? I don’t they’ll actually do it but Bruce has said he’d really like to do Prodigal Son. He spoke highly of this song. I think they may bring back Remember Tomorrow though and that’ll be the more mellow or ballad for the setlist. I think it’d be cool if they did Genghis Kahn though. It’d be really wild if they surprised us with Cross Eyes Mary. I saw Iron Maiden when they reunited with Bruce and Adrian and did a short US tour promoting the Ed Hunter CD. I saw them at Nautica Stage in Cleveland, an outdoor venue under a draw bridge. It held about 4000 people. I was front row dead center! They played Killers and it was a ton of energy! I’m thinking they bring this one back. Iron Maiden always has the best concert shirts too! And so many that it’s hard to just pick even two. As for what I’d like to hear them play? I saw them in 85, 87; 88, 99, 00, 03, 04 or 05. I’ve seen them play a lot of their songs. Back In The Village would be awesome though. King of Twilight was always one of my favorite b-side cover tunes. It doesn’t matter what they play, they know how to deliver it on the big stage. I’d like to hear Running Free again though. Those first two albums are so authentic.
Love to hear that you're still just as big of a fan after all these years!
@@HunterBoldingVideo If they did an anniversary show like Rush did on the R40 tour then they’d close out with Burning Ambition but that is highly unlikely. Based on the artwork representing this tour, it does put a lot of emphasis on Killers and Number of the Beast. Eddie with the hatchet and the sky in the background have me thinking it’s a Number of the Beast revisited tour plus 5 songs after that years. It’s also sad about Nicki having to hang it up from touring. He will be missed.
What you know about mode switch in a VCR player i know what they are do you people like myself are cleaning them out
I’m with ya bro 😎 I have over 1,100 physical titles and about 200 digital titles. I love my physical media and will collect as long as I can.
Great video, man. I could relate to a lot of what you said. I recently started re-building my blu-ray collection again after a decade of streaming only and I'm discovering all the boutique labels and I'm loving it. But it is expensive. My favorite thing you said though is how some people "just don't get it." I used those exact words recently when my wife wanted to stack her crates of homemade soap directly in front my blu-ray shelf because she needed the space. And she thought it was strange that I didn't approve. She said "What are you going to do, just stand here and stare at them on the shelf?" And I was like "yes, yes I am. And I do, all the time. And it brings me great joy." Some people just don't get it.
Thanks for the kind words! Glad to see that there's someone else that gets it!
"Art women, Bohemian bodies."
I think it's fine, it's obviously for people who like having super high quality Steelbooks and they do make it very clear it's discless, it's not like they're trying to trick people or anything
This was made before the Disney steelbook release was announced.
Nice job. GH 1 & two guitars new go for 300+ in 2024.
Good god it’s even worse than when I made the video. 😂
@HunterBoldingVideo yeah. My wife just bought GH 1 with two guitars for my older kids. That's the new orice through Wslmart 3rd party seller. You could buy used, like you mention. Guitars for Xbox are still 80+. I'll keep this for 20 years & see how the demand for it is then. I'll be sure to keep box, too. Lol. I remember when you couldnt give the guitars away.
@@apexnine I remember walking into GameStop with a full Rock Band set and they told me to leave when they saw it. 🤣
I still think Iron Maiden should have closed the show with "Death of the Celts," "The Parchment," and "Hell on Earth."
I honestly think that if we didn't have the pandemic take two years of touring away from them, that we would have gotten that.
I just put a 5.2.4 home theater in my front room and try to limit the movies to new titles I like with Atmos. There will always be new titles coming out. I love the idea of having a large selection to choose from, but don't want to be in a situation where I have so many and can't watch them all even once before my expiration date comes due.
I grabbed the Lawrence of Arabia 2 disc set on DVD, Alien Quadrilogy DVD collection, overlord on Blu Ray and Survival of the dead on Blu Ray
I still have to check out Overlord, I really want to see it.
I get it, I am the same, I have eightys movies, tv series, lots of horror, drama, and thrillers, Christmas movies, and even some romantic comedy. I am picky about comedy though, I don't really like super Goofy ones. The only thing better than watching them, is to watch them with someone else for the first time, but the collecting aspect is fun too.
Killers played on the Ed Hunter tour recorded as a b side
I missed that one on my Setlist.fm deep dive.
I started collecting 2 years ago. In the 2 years I have spent 10 grand so my movie collection is massive in a short period of time. 99 percent of those movies were films I enjoy with only a small amount blind buys on sales from like Vinegar Syndrome. I imagine in 10 years my movie collection will be larger than the Library of Congress lol.
All the power to you! Different collectors do different things! Beat the Library of Congress at their own game!
I have over 600 counting box sets including multiple movies as 1 movie
Do you count your box sets as 1 movie like scream factory Friday the 13th
The app I use to keep track of my collection counts box sets as one movie, but if I was doing an official count I would count each movie in a box set as 1.
@ what app I also have a large theatrical movie poster collection few hundred original most double sided anywhere from 1984 ghostbusters to recent Deadpool and wolverine I just recently acquired two new grails avengers 2012 and t2 I had the other 3 avengers already the first is really expensive and rare
@ when I was young there was a local theatre sold posters for $5 I passed right when they were about to close I got interested I passed on the dark knight was my biggest regret
@ I even have some cardboard movie displays the dark knight Spider-Man No way home and tmnt I collect just about anything movie related figures/collectibles too
I need that app though
Forget these nerds. They can take their plexi whatever and shove it up their a$$
Big let down for me. Every film looks as if there's a blue-filter that's been applied, which ultimately makes the picture typically look cold and lifeless. Also, the 4: Dream Master transfer is too dark compared to how it's supposed to look. I'm definitely sticking with the single(Red Label) DVD's. Besides, i don't need to watch ANOES 1-6 in 1080p OR 4K. These movies always seemed best to me on VHS and at most DVD. 'FullScreen' Mode also looks clearer/sharper than Widescreen mode, just because there's no cropping from the top and bottom. :P
I have the VHS box set and it does make for a fun way to watch these movies.
