I’m not a Skinamarink hater, so that comparison has me so hyped! I feel like I have been desensitized to jump-scare and visual horror, so these types of films are what I have been craving.
It's obviously not exactly the same, but if you liked Skinamarink, you'll like this one.
Me too. I liked skinamarink
As an adult, I dont go into horror looking to be “terrified” anymore, it’s just not gonna happen like it did when we were kids. Lately I have learned to reframe my metrics into “unsettled” or “upset” or “how much does this movie linger in my mind after watching” when I assess horror/thrillers-Hopefully this is that kind of movie.
Likewise. I’ve been engaging with horror for a long time and I’m pretty desensitized
I don’t even remember being “terrified” as a kid. Event Horizon was probably the closest thing, but I would say I was scared, not terrified. I wouldn’t say I’ve ever been terrified of anything…if I saw a real ghost, angel, alien, or God, that would probably do it. Anything short of that, not terrifying.
Edit: sorry, being stuck in a cave would also be terrifying, or in the deep ocean. F that. Had to mention those two things.
Also getting shot into space on a rocket would be terrifying. Being in space would be terrifying.
Now i think I’ve covered everything.
That leaning forward shit was what I was doing when I watched Hereditary so that’s a good sign
Did that with silence and hereditary … maybe that’s why people say they are “similar” just how it brings you in
Definitely put me into whatever zone you get into when you have to lean forward whether that's a video game or a movie.
It’s like you’re locked in and eager to what is gonna happen next
Hereditary was good for 30 mins then flops
Tension, build up and the realistic violence is more terrifying than anything and those films and their endings that stay with you.
Maybe it’s like “silence of the lambs” the way it draws you in… i rewatched Lambs a couple days ago and caught myself leaning forward just so into it
Idk if you can answer this but does the end leave an opening for a possible Longlegs 2?
No spoilers here, just wait for the movie to come out.
I never ended up watching Skinamarink, as I didn’t wanna watch it alone and don’t know if anyone would sit with me and get bored lol. But typically I like things with artsy elements, so the comparison excites me! I’m going this Thursday and hope
Hope you enjoy it when you see it!
Seeing it this Friday, Can't wait!
Hope you enjoy it!
Can't wait for Thursday night. It's been a verrrrrry long time since i have had genuine nervousness about seeing a film.
Hope you enjoy it!
Have you played ALAN WAKE II? If you liked this film you will love it. I also recommend the book HOUSE OF LEAVES.
I have not played Alan Wake II, I have played the first, I'll have to check that and the book out!
I’d definitely second this. House of Leaves, for me, is the scariest book I’ve ever read. Reading through it for the second time as we speak
@@HunterBoldingVideo This sounds egotistical but in this caseU have to say you’re welcome. You’ll probably love the book lmao
Is it more of a Conjuring type of scary? Or a Hereditary type of scary? Or a mix of the 2?
it's not like those two movies, I think I described how the movie was in my review pretty well.
I'm watching it Thursday night, I'm super hyped. 😁🤘
Hope you enjoy it!
BRO I’M SO JEALOUS 😭🙏
Can’t wait for this!! This and civil war were my most anticipated this year!
Civil War was awful
@@RyanPatrick-yy7zi you’ll live 🤷♂️
One of the best theater experiences imo! Way better than maxxxine.
Still have to catch Civil War, but I've heard good things.
@@HunterBoldingVideo yea I have no idea what some of the people saying it sucks are on, it’s exactly what I was expecting it to be 🤷♂️
@@HunterBoldingVideonon spoiler review of civil war. Awkward journalists chasing action and endangering their lives for pictures. Last forty minutes was good but entire film leading up to those final forty minutes were beyond disappointing
Shoutout Gunnar Henderson🐤
I'm not an Orioles fan, but goddamn that guy is good at baseball.
@@HunterBoldingVideo me either. Insane for how young he is
Didn't I save him or his son from hotel-dwelling cannibals in New Vegas?
It takes place between 92 and 2000. There's a framed photo of Bill Clinton in one of the scenes.
Yes, that is a clue, it's definitely earlier than later in the '90s.
Does he do the killngs himself or is like a possession type thing because all you see in the trailers is people going crazy
No spoilers here!
Going to have to wait friday better hurry up😂
I still hate Skinnamarink
Lovely review. Your description of the film is the best i’ve seen.
Thank you for the kind words!
