I prefer legacy sequels to reboots. At least this way you are honoring the older film(s) and you don't have to repeat the original. You can acknowledge the past while bringing in new ideas and characters
Rotten Tomatoes 80% doesn't mean that every reviewer gave it an 8/10, a 5.1/10 is considered a positive review for that metric. I'm actually higher than the average RT review, which is a 6.5/10.
it doesn't seem hard to believe that it sucks. the trailers look horrible. who the hell is it even for? who in real life gives a shit about a beeltjuice sequel. come on. no one.
