I picked up one of these last monday 7/13/2020, after a 17 day wait (gotta love california), and I must say the wait was well worth it. After two trips to the range and 450 rounds thru this bad boy, Im very impressed. The pistol has functioned flawlessly, with only one malfunction which was operator related (my buddy racking the slide after his 4th shot causing a double feed). But otherwise the gun has been beasting (for a .22) .
290 rounds of cci mini mag
100 rounds of fiocchi performance HV
60 round of cci ar tactical.
    No issues whatsoever.
This gun was definitely purchase because now I can hoard all my 9mm ammo, and still go have a fun , cheap day at the range.
    Thanks 4 reading &
    Stay blessed.

Colts 22 is made by them with a 12 round mag for the free states.

No, Colt 1911-22 is a Umarex/Walther product that licensed the brand name from Colt. That's why the barrel setup is totally different: GSG's barrel can come off with the slide for field strip, Colt's can't :)

I got myself a used one for a good price however I have only shot one round out of it so far. It didn't cycle the 2nd round so I stopped and disassembled it. It had a bunch of metal slivers inside the mechanics of it so I cleaned it up the best I could and am waiting to go back to the range with it. It's a comfortable gun in the hand with a light trigger. My background check took less than 10 minutes here in Alabama. Wish me luck.

I bought one of the 'good looking' GSG .22's and used it a fair bit,..then the slid catch on indent on the actual 'aluminum' slide started to wear out,..quickly.
The slide was replaced quickly by my Gunsmith/Dealer ( not the GSG distributor herein Canada, apparently ) but that slide too started to wear out. The GSG
Distributor was reluctant to send along new replacement slides to my Dealer,.and I do not know the reason.
    So,...I got rid of this GSG 1911 .22 .
For that reason alone, I never bought another GSG product, in this case only, if you can get the promised warranty repair parts when there`s an obvious weak spot on an item,
then you simply do not buy those products.( at least I don`t and the "once bitten, twice shy" saying applies! )
Note: I think I have seen newer ( about a year later ) GSG .22 slides with a steel insert piece right there on the slide release area. I don`t know, because I stayed clear of these .

I own one. I like it very much and I did not receive the extra front sights. Mine is the one
that has U.S. on both grip panels. Otherwise, it looks just like yours in the video. Wife
really likes it. Easier to rack the slide than my 10mm , 45acp and 9mm 1911's. If it begins
to have any difficulties while shooting. A dab of oil on slide rails will make it perform
great again. I like to shoot dry, drop the mag, insert fresh mag and release the slide
with the slide release on all of my 1911's. DO NOT USE THE SLIDE RELEASE ON
THIS FIREARM. The slide is made out of something other than steel and you will
round off the slot where the slide fits. Load and pull slide back and release.
The really sad part of this story, is my wife can out shoot me with my own firearm.

I love the coat on that gun. Ads just that little extra something. The mag looks so well made. Properly machined, sturdy materials, just well made. That is just dandy. Ran smooth as silk too, as far as I could tell, even when you stretched it out at forty yards. Might even work as an EDC in places where you're under some form of restriction. I don't know is such a place exists where you can carry a .22lr but not much else, but you never know. Have a nice weekend, and thank you for sharing 😊

Mine had so much overspray on the rails that it wouldn’t run any kinds of ammunition until after I used emery cloth to polish them, then I used Outers GunSlick grease on rails. I have three magazines and bought new followers and base pads, now it shoots 17 rounds per magazine. Mine did not come with extra sights and shoots 5” high.

  • @louisbecker5941
    @louisbecker5941 4 года назад +7

I like that adjustable trigger concept. Different sights being included, along with a threaded barrel is cool, too.
A good start on making it your own just by opening up the case.👍
I'll give it a pass on that malfunction for being a new firearm.
As far as not being a fan of grip safeties, that's just me, but I'd have to say that the full size 1911 style platform would make it very controllable.

If you live in Illinois, make sure you buy one from a private owner. I just found out the hard way they are illegal to transfer if purchased online out of state nor can a gun shop in Illinois sell them under ILCS 5/24-3, Section A, Subsection (h). Now I have to fight with the seller who did not disclaim this to get my money back. So now my gun is sitting with the FFL and I can’t have it.

I have one of these. Mine is the two tone, but functionally the same. I have experienced a couple things worth noting. First, I have some painted mags and some unfinished aluminum (like yours). I have found the aluminum ones work best. Also, the hotter the ammo, the better it runs. Best performance out of stingers in the aluminum mags.

That's a nice pistol, I have one over here in the UK although it's not quite the same (due to our gun laws here) interesting to see the US version. Thanks

      What are the differences ?

    • @toecutter6968
      @toecutter6968 8 месяцев назад +1

@@titiduru61 All firearms in the UK have to be minimum 24 inches overall length. (Except black powder revolvers) due to this the UK version has a 12 inch barrel and an arm brace - to give an over all length of 24 inches. Other than that I believe it is the same as in the video. As you probably know our gun laws suck.

      No they aren’t totally banned.
We aren’t allowed firearms for self defence.
We have a licensing system and in my case I am a member of two shooting clubs.
I own 3x bolt action rifles.
      1x lever gun, 1x semi auto .22lr rifle 1x gsg 1911 .22lr
and 2x 12g shotguns. So not banned but tightly controlled.
