I have a 2022 K1600GT, coming from a 2016 Multistrada, and for the riding I do, which is usually long distance, the big K is way better suited to the riding I do. I have no problems with it in the twisties, I push it as hard as I did my Multi. I switched out the seat to a Sargent, added highway pegs, a taller screen, and rear crash bars, and I think it’s perfect now.

I was surprised by the agility too. I was initially not using my body much and felt the bike not wanting to lean. One of the posts in facebook mentioned about using the hips a bit more aggressively and it completely changed it for me. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

For the tight twisties I suggest rain mode. That drop in power and reduced sharpness on the throttle make it easy more manageable. Full power is great when you need it, but in tight stuff you don't need 175kn spinning that back wheel or sledging the front

Thanks for the tip! Something to remember I think also while riding in gravel

Very informative video, thanks. I owned an R1200RT, traded it for a an HD Road King, now I’m ready to go back to a BMW. I’m leaning heavily to the K, as most of my riding is long distance touring. Safe travels.

Hi Robby, enjoy your videos. I have K1600GT and wondered what tank bag that was? It looks exactly what I need. Thank you.

@@craigstanleyk1600 That is awesome. I am seeing more and more acceptance within my riding friends.
The high visibility one is totally worth just for the respect you get on the road as most folks here think you might be a cop and move out of your way!

Did you experience of the instability of the front end at higher highway speeds that other note? Others consistently bring up the caution necessary for low speed maneuvers as the center of gravity is quite high and therefore there a couple of degrees over the tipping point mean the bike is going down.

I did not feel any instability whatsoever. I did have good amount of luggage on the panniers (with heavier stuff), back seat (real heavy stuff), and top box (lighter but voluminous stuff).
I did have the new puig windshield just shy off the high position. That could have acted as a big air brake with holding the front down. I only got about 38 MPH at freeway speeds (70-80 mph).
I was also in constant heavy rain from Memphis to Atlanta and didn’t notice anything different.
Aren’t the reports of instability more for the Grand America or the bagger versions? Mine is GT.

I've did 100,000ks on my K16. I've never heard or felt instability. Quite the opposite. Doesn't matter if you are doing 30 kph or 230kph. A very solid machine. I'm on a gixxer now and really miss that high speed solidity and top end torque
