Nice, I have the same hood on my Vette for a few years now, no heat protection and I used stock struts. Just push down on the top center when closing. I also painted mine and left the vents exposed carbon fiber

That hood is so aggressive! LOVE IT! It should make a huge difference with cooling.
I was worried about how aggressive it was but i think it came out great. I will find out next week how well it keep air moving!

You need to get i/2" sch 40 PVC pipe to use as a device to prop open hood. Cut it to the size you need and put a PVC Tee at both ends and use a swimming pool noodles to use as a covers for the Tees not to damage the hood or the car. The hood look great. I like your logo but you need to get a bigger size (XXXL) I used the rule if I get it together with no blood it a great job.
Did you ever get answer to the heat protection for the hood? BTW it looks awesome. If you didnt install the heat protection, do you notice any damage to the hood yet?
I did get an answer from someone who tracks A LOT and doesn’t have protection and says no problem. I have not put any on mine and so far so good too!

Man… really thinking about it but $$$ for a car I don’t drive at night and that I track a lot.
Nice hood. I would use a set of vice grips to hold the hood open at the track.
With the hood up just clamp the vice grip at the bottom of the strut. I'm sure you won't be the only person at the track doing this as struts are famous for failing. Lol

So I daily my Z06 and track it, does rain water mess with anything of the car? I'm a college student who just got his dream car and wanting to know.
As long as it's not heavy rain...no, but with this type of hood, heavy rain cause possibly find its way into the intake which is no good. The rest of the engine can get wet though as it gets wet anyways when it raining with a normal hood.
Hey so did you ever order any heat tape for the hood? I just ordered one, but have had a GM Camaro hood vent cut into the stock hood for a while and don't really see the point.
no heat tape, talked to a guy that had one for a while and never had a problem
