    I know you will love this MG-MIDGET! I owned 2 Midgets. I loved the mustered color so much that I chose that color for both of my Midgets. My first MG-MIDGET was a chrome bummer 1072 model. My second Midget was the 1974 rubber bumper model like yours, except mine was the burnt orange color. I'm in my 70's and miss my carefree days of my 20's and my brand new MG-MIDGETS.

    Love the MG! My uncle is a big MG fan. He has a 1952 MG TD Roadster and a 1933 MG midget. Last summer I went on a touring trip with him in the '52 Roadster with the MG Club. Keep up your content. Greetings from the Netherlands!

      Thank you! It's been a pretty fun car to drive around. There is a big British car show at Gilmore Car Museum in Michigan and I am hoping to have the throw out bearing and clutch replaced in time to make it out there for it. I think it would be a fun video to hang out there and check out some other cool cars I'm very unfamiliar with. Haha.

    Welcome to the world of rubber bumpers. I also have a 76 midget. They are a lot of work, but well worth it.

    My neighbor growing up had a red MG that sat for many years. My father helped her get it going and she taught me how to drive a manual with it. I’d like one of these cars, but they’re not really designed for the 6’ plus guys. Plus I like my Tercel.

      I barely fit and I'm 5'10. I think if the steering wheel was a bit smaller it probably wouldn't be as much of a big deal. It's a fun car but I definitely like my Tercels better. I gotta pull the engine/trans to change the clutch and throw out bearing to get rid of this noise.

      It is definitely a very cool little car. The few times I've driven it now, it has brought a lot of attention! People really seem to dig them. Haha. I am definitely gonna hang onto it for a while!

    Nice! My old man had a midget but sold it for a MPV when kids were born. Always wanted to superbike motor swap one.

      @BeardedWrencher  7 месяцев назад

      That would be a pretty awesome swap! These cars seem to be pretty fun to drive. This one desperately needs the throw out bearing replaced before I do any sort of real driving with it.
      I ordered a clutch kit, some gaskets and a few other things for it to do in probably the next video on this car.

    Cool car - they tend to get overshadowed by the MGB and Triumph Spitfire but I've always liked the looks. The US-spec bumpers don't look too bad.

      I like the look! Chrome bumpers are always catchy but it's how the car was and I really dig the look. Thank you! I'm excited to get it fixed up and drive it around without a screaming throw out bearing. Haha.

    Nice! I have a '77 Midget I rescued from a friend's garage. I wonder if you still have the factory electronic ignition, those were notoriously unreliable. It failed for the previous owner of my car, and I replaced it with a Pertronix when I resurrected it.

    The transmission is supposed to sound that way.
