I like that you call them "brave" for doing what they do. I think that's a bit why us fans are so attracted to them. They've come out, are unabashedly and almost obstinately themselves, regardless what anybody says. What's more rock n roll than that? Greta Van Fleet is the first new band I've liked in 20 years. They're making all the music I grew up with new again. Guitar solos are a "thing" again. Jake's on his way to guitar god status. Josh can actually SING. They're bringing back showmanship and wearing shiny glittery jumpsuits. They play their instruments live and write their own songs. More importantly, they've cultivated a relationship with their fans onstage and off. And you find kindergarteners all the way up to grandmas at their concerts. I can't, for the life of me, figure out why that's a bad thing and why they're hated with a passion by some people. But all the trolling in the world isn't going to stop them or the fans. We're happy to take you in, if you decide you're a fan! If you want guitar solos, well..."The Weight Of Dreams". That is all. Thank you!

Absolutely, and it's so great to hear. Rock while it may still be kicking, just isn't the same anymore. I feel like it's lost a creative spark, and has a generic sound to it... in generalities of course, because there are always exceptions. But its great to hear real Rock for a change

I was in great need of some GVF reactions tonight having seen everything current in my recommends and you pop up. While this isn't my favorite song ( probably my least favorite to be brutally honest) it's still a great show of his amazing vocal ability and I enjoyed this reaction nonetheless. I'm sad that I can't make their Austin show, despite being only three-ish hours away, but I'm really hoping to at least eventually make one show within the next year or so. These guys never fail to amaze me with their musicality and talent. I have hope for my generation again. On one hand, I kind of hope that no one follows in GVF's footsteps BECAUSE they are so rare today, and are so original and good at what they do, kind of want to keep that feeling of having a band out there that's doing what no other band is doing right now.
BUT. On the other hand, GVF inspiring so many young people to want to pursue music and to learn instruments.. it's a startling amount of people, and having people who want to make music because of what this band is doing, it's a miracle. Imagine this band getting even bigger than they are in the next 3 to 5 years and all the sudden we have teens and 20 something bands making classic rock albums. GVF will have started that transition and it will be normalized and current again, and parents won't have to ease their kids into it. Music like this will be mainstream and playing on the radios every day. I'm so glad that I'll most likely be alive when that turning point happens. 😄
I feel the same way !!! I have a passion for the old school rock . My friends make fun of me because I listen to Boston, Creedande, ZEPPLIN and you know the rest ! There’s something about bands that use REAL instruments and use their real RAW, blood sweat and tears into their songs. We see far too often bands using computers and little other things to give them a “sound”. But I have always loved the old school rock with the bass guitars drums and old fashioned talent . You are 100% correct in your opinion ! I was reluctant to listen to them bc they were a bit off to me . But the more I listened the more I realized they ARE the band I’ve been HOPING FOR. This is the kind of music makes you wanna get up and move ! It brings your soul to new heights . Nothing wrong with the other music of today , Ariana grande, TSwift. All the country artists are great but THIS is the type of music that makes my life much more richer .

Been listening to them since 2016-17, and honestly I always loved them, but I got the chance to see them this year at the Walmart Amp and I can honestly say that they are the greatest performance I’ve seen live. Introduced my wife to them and she was kind of on the fence about them, liked them but wasn’t in love, but once we saw them on stage she became absolutely obsessed. Light My Love became our wedding song (her choice) and they are absolutely lovely. Appreciate the reaction!
I'll be seeing them here for Somofest in a couple of weeks. Excited for it.
This has become my favorite chorus from Josh - but this recording doesn't do Josh justice! The mix seems a little off to me - as his vocals should be turned up a little. Same with Jake's guitar. I've heard live stage versions that are better! The album version is awesome, because the rest of the band also sings on it - so I hope you give that a listen. Thanks for your reaction - when I see you smile I know you're hearing what we do - a great band full of talent! ☮️🔥☮️

Hey, Dan do you distort the videos sound when uploading for copy right reasons or something? I’ve watched this performance probably 50+ times and this sounds … off? from the original. Am I just crazy? 😂
So no, you're not crazy, but also no it's not really "distorted" either. I actually make my videos accessible friendly for people with hearing issues. The bass is lowered, and the vocals are more forward. So yes, there is definitely a difference. You're not at all wrong. But its not distorted to mask the song, or trick RUclips. It's enhanced so people that have sensitivities to bass, or low frequencies, can still enjoy the song, as well as people that have a hard time hearing lyrics can have an easier time discerning them.
Your the first person to actually pick up on it and comment. Though most of my reactions are country, acapella, or easy listening, and it would be easier to pick up with rock. But you can definitely hear it if you have a good ear and know the material like you clearly do
