Stephanie, we might need a skincare routine video at some point. You are always GLOWING!
You're too kind! The secret is lots of sun screen and a few DIY skin serums.
Great video. Spent a week in Prague in 2019 and this brought back great memories. Beautiful city!
It's just lovely! We definitely have to go back one day for a longer visit.
The magic city
It's so beautiful! 😊
Another excellent video.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for this tour of Prague. I’ve not been. What a beautiful city!
Glad you enjoyed it! We really enjoyed our time there.
That's amazing
Indeed! 😊
Prague is such a beautiful city!!! And what a nice apartment you’ve found. Jasper and Huxley are so well behaved, super cuties!
Excited to see the adventures in Bohemian Paradise!
It was a great first week of travel...beautiful city, nice apartment, great food! We couldn't ask for more!
The loud sound you heard is the city sirens, they test them once a month always on a first Wednesday. Locals know this, for tourists it might be a bit scary probably thinking an air raid is coming😂
The sound is totally unrelated to what you saw, which was changing of guards at the Prague castle.
Thanks for clarifying. Two big events happening at the same time...it was a little confusing! 😂
My kids and I loved Prague! We were there about 3-4 days but could have easily stayed longer.
It really is a beautiful city, especially once you get away from the crowds.
Nice video, I'm glad you liked my hometown.
Just for explanation: at 9:10 - the sound is a test of air sirens, it happens every first Wednesday of the month at 12 o'clock.
It has been introduced after the extreme floods in 2002 (1000 years flood, causing extreme damage through the whole country, especially in Prague).
As there was no mobile network then, the people got warned through the sirens. It has remained since then...
9:30 - this is a ceremonially changing of the guards of the Prague castle - every day at 12 o'clock full ceremony + every hour small show while changing..
You have missed the castle gardens btw. or at least it wasn't shown in the video. There are spectacular views, buildings and mostly trees from all over the world, some of which are more than 600 years old - those were gifts of other emperors to our kings then....
And finally, to your tour to Bohemian Switzerland - you might get a bit dissappointed, as there was a huge forest fire 1 year ago, lasting for unbelievable 2 weeks. Our firemen had to get help from German firefighters, as it was really intense.
Therefore, huge area is burnt and some sections are still closed, due to safety....
But the main attraction, the Pravcicka Gate, is opened and did not get any damage, thankfully...
Glad to hear you enjoyed the video! Thanks for all the great tips. We were very surprised to hear the sirens and then it seems the changing of the guards happened at the same time -- quite an event! The Bohemian Paradise was very beautiful -- we had a great time there. We didn't notice any area with fire damage fortunately.
We just got back from Paris a couple weeks ago. It was very crowded too! The apartment you're staying in reminds me of the one we rented in Paris - not a lot of decorations but clean and comfortable and a great location. Have a wonderful stay!
I guess it's just what we need to expect from springtime in Europe! 😂 We usually like to get out to the main sights very early in the morning to avoid all the crowds.
Welcome to Europe! When I went to Prague, we saw that salads were liberally priced. So, everyday was a salad festa!
Sounds perfect! The food is otherwise quite rich and heavy.
Yep, the crowds were even worse when we were there, but we were there in late June. It's a beautiful city, but it's so crowded! I'm sure you are still enjoying it! Are you going to Karlstejn? It was magical!
I can only imagine how crowded it gets during peak season. It was shocking enough during the chilly early spring. 😂 No Karlstejn this time round unfortunately.
Just came across your channel and love it. Maybe you cover this in a previous video, but how difficult is itvto travel with pets? What is that process like from country to country?
You have perfect timing with your question! We just released a video all about how to travel internationally with a dog bit.ly/42XVAxH
We went for five nights a few years ago. In April. It was very cold but those huge warming meals with white dumplings and slabs of meat sure help. And very cheap! We arrived on a Monday and it was ok until Friday when the crowds got boosted. And manic on Saturday. But as you say, the crowds congregate in certain areas and there aren’t that many people when you stroll up and down the river. And especially not when the river is crossed.
It's so true -- Prague becomes a different city once you leave the top sights behind. We had some lovely quiet walks in the parks on the other side of the river.
Great 👍
Thanks so much! 😊
Nice video. It would be interesting to know the prices of accommodations, meals, etc.
We usually do a round up of our costs when we stay for a month. This was a pretty quick stop in Prague...just a week
What good puppies to sit on your lap and not snatch a bit of duck! The little doggie snowsuits are hysterical - I don't think I could shoehorn my little Papillon into one without loud protest from her.
They don't love getting into their little rain coats but they're learned to tolerate it. 😂
Prague crowded? HA. What an understatement. Been three times. Expensive too! Try Budapest or Krakow. Less crowded and better buy. Love your videos
Glad you're enjoying our videos! We're heading to Budapest in a few weeks so we'll be able to do the complete comparison then. 😊
Plenty of artists
Indeed!
Nice video girls! Prague is a very dog friendly city!
It certainly is! We were really impressed. 😊
did you go to some places a bit further from centre like vysehrad?
Yes, we got quite far out of the centre...we spent a week hiking through the Bohemian Paradise! bit.ly/3X2TzP1
@@OurFreedomYears i have seen that, i ment in prague
We only spent time in the centre of the city. A week is just too short! 😊
Where did you stayed? Address
This is the Airbnb where we stayed: www.airbnb.com/rooms/plus/32280447
Did you visit the Jewish quarter?
We passed through only too briefly. To be honest, we probably need to go back to Prague again soon and spend a full month to fully experience the city.
There is no 'jewish quarter' in PRG really. The erstwhile jewish quarter was 'redeveloped' in the end of 19th century ....and all the buildings replaced by apartment houses in art nouveau style. (btw, the area was, by mid-19yh century was no longer 'jewish', more like just a slum-like quarter, that is why it was torn down and completely rebuilt)
Only two synagogues plus jewish cemetery survived in the area, otherwise all buildings are just slightly more than 100 years old and have nothing in common with erstwhile Jewish quarter;)
Prague is not expensive.
Of course, there can be cheaper alternatives in Prague.
