I'm 70 plus and wish to keep active as long as I'm alive.

Thanks love. I usually make my adult scarfs about 6-8 inches wide. Look on the label of your yarn and see how many stitches it would take to get to the desired width. Hope that helps you figure it out.
Love this pattern and I'm going to knit one soon. But I'm a little confused so I need your advice. I slowed down your video several times and confirmed that @4.10min K2tog is done through the front but @6.50min the K2tog is done Through The Back Loop. Hello! Sorry for the confusion. I know why @6:50 it looks like I am knitting through the back loop. The way I knit, my Knit Stitch leans backwards. to make it the same as in $4:10, I could have moved the 2 stitches so it leans the other way, and then k2tog so it looks like the first row. I don't know how your stitch lays based on your knitting but I hope it worked out after all. Thanks so much.
Thank you for this pretty scarf pattern. I think it might be helpful if you state in the written directions "Slip last stitch" after you say do not knit last stitch. This does make a nice edge. I also noticed that in the first row of pattern you knit 2 together from the front (as in a regular knit stitch), but later you were knitting 2 together from the back. Is there a reason for this? It is how my stitch lays when I knit my way of continental. The stitch lays towards the back (versus most knitters). Depending on how you knit, your Knit Stitch may lean differently and then the K2tog looks like it does in row 1. So hard to describe. I hope it makes some sense.

Yes it does make a difference in the final look of you use k2tog versus k2tog through back loop. Number of stitches to cast on really depends on how thick your yarn is and how many inches you want it to be. On average scarf’s width is 5-8 inches. Look at your tag and see how many stitches it takes to get to that width.

The garter stitch is only 2 rows so it won't change the diagonal line of the scarf. Don't do more rows of garter because of the very season you mention but 2 rows is okay.

Hello! I think 4 rows of border or 6 rows is probably more appropriate in size if you cast on 65 stitches for the scarf. It will look more balanced. But 4 rows should be enough if you just want to avoid the curling of the border. Thank you.
Hello! I don’t know how thick your yarn is. But one average the width of a women scarf is between 8-10 inches. Look in your yarn’s label and see how many stitches they recommend to get to that width. You may have to do some math depending on how the gauge is listed on the label.

Hello there! Thanks for visiting. Number of stitches depends on the size of your yarn and the needle size you like to use. Check gauge on your skein or yarn. Usually short scarf is 55 inches long. I'm just a little bit confused. Your scarf looks diagonal all of the way through. It does not look like a straight horizontal bottom. How do I achieve that look?
You're not the only one. If you just keep knitting without increasing or decreasing stitches the number of stitches is going to stay the same and therefore it's just going to be straight. I've made horizontal scarves before and they all start out with three stitches and you add a stitch on each side every other row and therefore it increases until it reaches the width you desire. With this it's just continuing with the same stitches in each row.

So I've tried this but my 3rd row I end up with 2 left other then 3 I didnt do anything different I even went back and tried it again and ended up with 2 left again
The most common mistake is to lose the Yarn Over. Especially when you knit the English way. I hope you try again and pay extra attention to the YO on the WS.
Hello there. It really depends on the thickness of your yarn. For this scarf, my yarn was supposed to be for a US size 6 but I used a US size 10 and I casted on 63 stitches.

I'm just a little bit confused. Your scarf looks diagonal all of the way through. It does not look like a straight horizontal bottom. How do I achieve that look?
Yes it will become diagonal as you knit it. Just follow pattern and it will become diagonal! That’s the beauty of this pattern! Have fun
You're not the only one. If you just keep knitting without increasing or decreasing stitches the number of stitches is going to stay the same and therefore it's just going to be straight. I've made horizontal scarves before and they all start out with three stitches and you add a stitch on each side every other row and therefore it increases until it reaches the width you desire. With this it's just continuing with the same stitches in each row.
The K2tog is a right-leaning decrease. Over time-rows, it starts leaning the fabric to the right 😀

how many stitches do you start with for a adult scarf?
Hi sweetie. It depends on thickness of the yarn. But if you use similar type of yarn as me, I would start with double the stitches I do in this video! Have fun
So I've tried this but my 3rd row I end up with 2 left other then 3 I didnt do anything different I even went back and tried it again and ended up with 2 left again
The most common mistake is to lose the Yarn Over. Especially when you knit the English way. I hope you try again and pay extra attention to the YO on the WS.
Oh yes I'm definitely going to try again taking a brake from knitting as I'm making my new baby a blanket

Hello there. It really depends on the thickness of your yarn. For this scarf, my yarn was supposed to be for a US size 6 but I used a US size 10 and I casted on 63 stitches.
