- Sorry about the poor audio, cheap camera....
but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
it sounds better with poor audio to be honest
The old sales slogan of the Cummins Signature 600 was 600 to go and 600 to woe. Great engines.
nice easy shifting no need to tear your shit up this is how old school owner ops treat there trucks let her settle into the gear then ease into it
Easy to do this when your truck sounds like this!
I ran Cat's for 7 years, which may not seem like a long time but I ran OTR and Thru the Rockies and the Pocono's, I thought my old 3406C did a wonderful job... I moved to the Rockies in '08, and started working for a local trucking company and was given a 2006 379 Day Cab with a 565hp ISX with an 18spd Trans & 3.55 rear gears. It goes Down Hill as well as It goes Up Hill. The Jake's are above & beyond anything I've ever driven.
I have always loved Cummins from the days of the non turbo charged 220s to formula 400s and NTCs.However a Cat with straight pipes the turbo whistle is hypnotic.
Cummins whistle is legendary. Holset turbo
@@Toroazul54 trooth. Among all the engines tho, CAT and Cummins have the best Turbo and Jake sounds. The 3406b, C18 (yes, the Marine engine) and Signature 600 series Cummins are my favorites of all time. I literally have videos I listen to at night to fall asleep with lol. Cummins and CAT, usually fully loaded pulling up hills. I know the old Detroit's are popular as well, but I just always found them sounding too smooth. Something about them just doesn't scream "Big Rig Power" to me.
I worked at Cummins in the late 90’s/early 2000’s when the Signature 600 was “cutting edge” and now it’s 20 years old.
Remember the 5.9L 12 Valve that Dodge put in their 2500 and 3500 trucks?
I finally bought my Dad's old 2500, and it's still going strong! Pulls like a champ, whistles nice and clear, and with the 19.5's it feels just as capable (under load) as the 3500 IMO.
Sorta like a mini semi truck, although I'm sure they've made some WAY better steering upgrades since then that would really help to update the handling.
(Now to get a better job so I can actually afford to run the thing. 😂)
I've listened to Cat V8's... 1693's ........ screemin dtroits and Harleys ALLLLL day long and they never get old...well maybe the dammmmdetroit...but, who the hell would wonder if it gets old?!?!?!?!?.....not a driver
nope. With the windows shut you can hardly hear it. Sounds good.
cant beat a cummins
@TruckLoverTyler Probably the rotten camera sound, it's a cummins 600 isx
@s172mch We like the sound and the power of this ISX better than a cat, we have had no trouble with it, with the windows up it's very quiet inside the cab (It's a real sweet ride)
Noise? That's what I call music.
I love cummins!
yep we all like a truck that's running and we all know what its like to have one that's not :(
Awesome puller and a professional driver as well. Recently blew up my 12.7 detroit in my 2000 freightliner classic hauling hay. It did have 1.4 million racked up but I am hoping to do a n14 Cummins repower to bring it back to life. I love the sound of straight pipes and am a firm bevliever in getting that exhaust out as quick as possible
How did it end up? 6 years later lol
imho no need to apologise audio wasnt bad. only grief youll get are from those that have no videos of their own
Just had an old 99" in my shop the other day. I made a recording of the motor sound when I stated it up. Luv that sound!!
ya i guess, did not bother me any tho. i use to go with my father all the time as a kid, always loved the sound.
I wanna marry that truck!!!
Aberdeen sd
holset hx60w???
Nice 👌
noise that's music
Sounds like a working man.
What a monster, love it!
Are those isx good motors because i cant decide if i want a cat 6NZ or a isx?
i heard that tge isx is a trouble maker
Go with the 6NZ more durable and even turned up with power 6nz would break down way less between the too.
But me personally ( fan statement) I think the ISX has the top 3 best big diesel engine sounds around.
Has the best jake brake systems that I've heared on engine debate forums cummins called them ( interbrake)
But up too you brother I like both engines.
Just my 2 cents.
Sound Gooder than that but u got a good one to
When You as a Driver can Break your train of thought and internal feelings that Cat's are the end all to be all. Stop and Pay Attention, Cummins ISX engines are the New Rising Star, of the On Highway Engines
Not annoying, addictive.
She purrrrrrrrs
Dont you get tired of the constant drone? Sweet, but I dont want to spend the whole day hearing that. wouldnt be able to sleep going down the road.
yes, it was!!
So how did this engine hold up !? It’s been a while
The signature series was better than this X-15 and all this b******* they got today
what psi do you get in the manifold? i have a 99 just like youres and cant get past 27 on hard pulls sometimes 30 psi
+Michael Zelaya it gets around 30 or more, it'll go way up there if it's torqueing
stock push 30psi max its the same with my dad 2020 x15
aw what a nice soun i love it
the only motor that sounds good through a toothpick :) LOL
Not N14 in 1999?
Allen Jose Perez Brian Garcia Mark
I got a Damn kw900l twin turbo cat 650hp louder than that
But probably pulls like shit
+Andrew Bixby You ever run a CAT? Best low end torque in the industry. Gotta wind the Cummins up past 1400 to pull anything
+Andrew Bixby shut up troll.
Not true. I'm at peak hp at 1200rpm
Sounds nice.
I’d put the signature 600, big cam lll NTC400, and N14 select in order as the best sounding engines Cummins ever built, though the signature series doesn’t even make five when it comes to best preforming.
Sounds like a cat
@KnuckleBabys yes, it's fixed now. The very top of the cab was really bad too. But, it's fixed now.
ISX 15 without EGR or DEF/DPF
this is a signature 600 is roughly an isx without any kind of egr or def/dpf is a pure engine with a big turbine.
@@elisaeliseuferreira2396 best part is the torque is 2000 foot pounds at 600 and run better than the EGR ISX. My department has an ISX 15 with only an EGR and it runs like hell but it gets a little more torque since the higher compression ratio and higher fuel pressure. The oil is jet black from the carbon build up from the EGR and the Jake sounds like crap
@@Darth-Nihilus1 engines with egr are suffocated and need more constant maintenance. cat 3406E , signature 600, isx cm570 and detroit 12.7 are the best engines in trucks
@@Darth-Nihilus1 the isx has a great jake brake on the second stage it is superior to all on the market
Really cool
Holy shit, that sounds orgasmic. The roar gives me shivers, ha. Really hope to get my hands on a pete or kenworth with one of these beauties in' er
Paint coming off the middle of the hood. My 2002 did exact same thing
i like cummins better than a cat i think.
Not sure what Cummins is a lemon but either way Cat had to quit making motors for lack of engineering and dealing with standards everyone has to deal with.
Let me guest, EPA?
Yea, EPA isn't good for anything. I do tree service for a living and every piece of small equipment I get has to be modified to run worth a crap, except the new husky auto tune saws. They really seemed to figure it out!
You must be from California yes?
No that stuff has messed up the whole country, I'm in Michigan. I don't even wana know how bad it is in Cali though!!
+Alex Matthews It's pretty bad, but I live in North Carolina. If you didn't know there are people and a some politicians fighting back against the EPA over the rediculous regulations.
Aberdeen, SD on 281 Northbound
+BRADY SCHROEDER yep
N14 Cummins?
Ryan Billingsley no, the N14 and the Signature 600 (“ISX”) are different engines.
Sounds like a CAT with that growl... cant really hear that signature sound of the Cummins Twin Turbos...... the whistle.
Awesome sound either way.... definitely worth shutting off stereo
signature series or emission controled ISX are all single turbos
Sounds AMAZING!!
nice, i cant say i miss driving to the Midwest. i love my Cali weather and state to much .
Rick R FUCK CALIFORNIA AND THEIR STUPID FUCKING EPA REGULATIONS!!!
