Hood looks like ours still does, getting the whole truck repainted within a year. Ours is a 2000 379 with the same Signature 600 motor, black, and straight piped to boot.
still love the sound of this truck my brother has a 2000 pete with a n-14 celect plus 525 and my dad had a c15 550 but ill tell ya those cats just dont have the sound that cummins engine has
That Cummins growl sounds so good, I love CAT and Detroit; but they sound so rough in the cab. Being a firefighter and most of our trucks and pumpers have old 8v92ta and 6v92tas and 60 series and now the station I am at now has a C12 and it's loud in the cab. The NTF 365 we had in our old truck sounded amazing but it didn't have an engine brake system. The 6v92ta has a straight 5 inch pipe and man it sounds good. The 8v92ta has a 5 with a muffler. The C12 has a 5 inch with muffler and my Chief said no to cutting it off but the station down the road from ours straight 6 inch their 60 series.
Cummins was the name of the man why started the company. He entered a diesel powered can in the Indy 500 and was kicking everyones butt until he suffered from a catastrophic engine failure. That is why you can't run a diesel engine at Indy to this day. Very smart man and the company he started makes a damn fine engine.
VERY musical sound to this truck. Almost sounds lthe purr is playing a melody, while the symphony orchestra ( turbo woossshh and exhaust sounds ) play in the background!
Clessie Lyle Cummins (December 27, 1888 - August 17, 1968) was the founder of the Cummins Engine Co. He was an entrepreneur who improved on existing diesel engines, created new diesel engine designs, was awarded 33 United States patents for his inventions, and set five world records for endurance and speed for trucks, buses and race cars.

@kathyjean1956 idk if u just got it mixed up or your husband told u wrong its the signature 600 and the other one is called just an isx, if u want to find out for sure just look on the drivers side of the valve cover and there should still be a sticker there that will say isx or signature 600 but if you have a chrome valve cover its more that likly a 600 unless you play musical valve covers
All of my friends talk about how they crush on these famous celebrities...All i crush on is peterbilts and kenworths. The sound is fucking orgasmic oh my god
@theA9663 Well, you've got to take a road test, and you've got to take a written test, it's good to know what you're doing when you take the road test, um, they have a book at the DMV you can study re: the written stuff, there are places that give driver training too, I don't know what that costs though. This is my husband's truck and he has always had one (a cdl), I personally, if I ever wanted to drive one, would want to learn from someone who has years and years of experience
It's a Signature 600, really don't know anything about the Detroit 600, he's never driven one, he says he doesn't know anything about the new generation of detroits, (old school trucker)
i hate the deal b/t the isx and the signature 600, there the exact same engine except the signature is programed for over 600 hp and you pay more just for the tune and a chrome valve cover
Is this the ISX 565 or does it say Signature 600 on top of the motor? Both are outstanding!! Ur pipes make it better. Your truck is strong. What u think about a 600 Detroit?? ALL CATS SUCK lol
***** yes but the engine has to have enough torque to keep up the engine speed, like the 400hp cummins has the same max rpm but not as much torque as the 600 so the 600 can have higher speed.
***** Theoretical top speed is calculated based off gearing, tire size, and engine RPM, but most vehicles can't get very close to that theoretical top speed because of the power required to overcome drag. More power will usually get you higher speeds, but like you said, engine speed (combined with gearing) is the ultimate limiting factor.
That's a cat isn't it because during shifting the engine is slower but if it was cummins you could shift through it no problem and really fast not slow like cat
Its very difficult to get a cdl you would have to first of all go to a diving school and back up correctly and then you would have to learn how to park the truck and then they make you drive through cones then you have a lot of paperwork to do.if you fail drivers ed then you won't pass the test
Sound like a Cummins signature 600!!! Sounds sweet!!!!

Its the manufacturer of the engine in the truck.
It's a Signature 600, really don't know anything about the Detroit 600, he's never driven one, he says he doesn't know anything about the new generation of detroits, (old school trucker)

Sounds a lot like a N14
Duty: Fulfill your obligations
i hate the deal b/t the isx and the signature 600, there the exact same engine except the signature is programed for over 600 hp and you pay more just for the tune and a chrome valve cover
@kiatruck Gotta love 600 hp/2050 lb ft!
Looks like 83 East going through Donna Texas?
no, this is south Texas
Is this the ISX 565 or does it say Signature 600 on top of the motor? Both are outstanding!! Ur pipes make it better. Your truck is strong. What u think about a 600 Detroit?? ALL CATS SUCK lol
Thats a Cummins signature 600
@BigWillie44mag
yes, way south Texas

@f20cmx5 This is waaayyy south Texas, expressway 83
If that was me my 600 would be louder. Like with straight 5 inch from the headers. whoop whoop I'm truckin it up.!!!!

come on you know what i ment...
hahaha
Sounds awesome!
T ligado em vocês ai
ISX, or the Signature 600? ISX is based off of the Sig 600.
@Therosko21 yes,,,
Shalom..
It does sound a bit more fiesty than an old 250 don't it? Still many 200's on the road when I started, take all month to get across the country.
Yes, but this has 600 hp, my friend has a 1981 kenworth w900a and has a 400 cummins and bogs down on hills, i would love to have a 600 in that truck.
thank you
Sounds good!!!!
600hp should get`er up to around 120-125 mph.
***** yes but the engine has to have enough torque to keep up the engine speed, like the 400hp cummins has the same max rpm but not as much torque as the 600 so the 600 can have higher speed.

More power will usually get you higher speeds, but like you said, engine speed (combined with gearing) is the ultimate limiting factor.
Sure it's possible, put a 4 speed auxiliary behind the 13 speed. You'll get enough gearing to hit that speed even at 400 horse.
BRADY SCHROEDER that'd be cool, how do those cost?
Sounds like a 444 or an N14!
ISX
kathyjean1956 is it a Signature 600?
yes, chrome valve cover and all
MERICA!!!
@@athonynesbitt7956Pretty sure since he is the poster he would know if its and ISX or a N14 just saying.
Sounds good
yes, it is.
It's a diesel truck engine company.
awesome! thank you very much :-)
2000 pounds of torque and doul over head cams, the ISX has come a long way
cummins is a type of diesel engine
AWESOME!!
Thats in the rgv!!:D
thank you :-)
That's a cat isn't it because during shifting the engine is slower but if it was cummins you could shift through it no problem and really fast not slow like cat
no, it's a 600 cummins, he doesn't shift "fast"
kathyjean1956 ohhh alright, thanks
He’s not floating gears is why. how you shift has nothing to do with how the engine sounds.
yep
It works fine after 16 hours, but he doesn't drive for 16 hours at a stretch,,,,there's such a thing as HOS rules, eh
my detroit 14l makes 675 cat killer etc
nice!
about 5.5
i heard that.
Can anyone tell me what does the word Cummins mean? What that? Im forin and i cant find it what it means
@f20cmx5 Cool!!!
yes, it is (was),,,you from around here?
was this in florida it seems familiar
@kathyjean1956 oh ok
how hard is it to get your cdl for trucking
Its very difficult to get a cdl you would have to first of all go to a diving school and back up correctly and then you would have to learn how to park the truck and then they make you drive through cones then you have a lot of paperwork to do.if you fail drivers ed then you won't pass the test
Texas??
There's my dad
what kind of fuel milage do you get?
you are high!
american truck simulator
😍😍👌
Doesn't pull like a 600,it was straining in the upper gears.
ISX?
Sorry but it still sounds like a cummins I don't care how big the stacks are !!!
whats wrong with cummins
Is this an 18 speed?
