Hi, have you clicked publish in the editor? I haven't experienced this myself and would recommend reaching out to Ecwid support as they will be able to tell you what is going on.
I need help with the cover image section. When I previous added an image into it and published, the result looked nice from my website via looking from mobile and desktop. And then, when I have decided to delete it and edited a new image and 'save and published it', the image is tremendously zoomed in looking from mobile. Desktop is fine. How can I solve this problem??
It sounds like you are on the new editor, which I am still waiting to get access for. Best thing to do would be to contact Ecwid support and ask what the ideal dimensions are for the cover images as this could be the problem.
Hi Paul, with the Ecwid site builder, does it allow you to add other pages apart from the store to your site, for instance, an about us page or similar? Best, TIM
Hi Tim, there are five pre-set pages you can add to the ecwid site builder which are Privacy Policy, T&C's, Shipping and Payment Info, Returns Policy & About Us. You currently can't create any pages other than these though

@@EcommerceGold yes I thought they would provide products the business plan says unlimited products that's what I thought I was getting g and I do agree it is friendly to an extent but always needs room for improvement I just thought it was better then what it was
No, ecommerce platforms like Ecwid, Shopify and Bigcommerce allow you to build a website from which you can sell your products and the unlimited products means you can list unlimited products on your site but you have to find the products yourself, either from suppliers or wholesalers.
Concerned about your comments regarding EcWid's SEO ---- "not that great"?? Since good SEO seems to be a necessary factor for people finding you and thus making sales, shouldn't this be a deal-breaker, or is there an app to improve the SEO? Bottom line is that either a site can help you receive sales, or not. Which is it?
It's only a deal breaker if SEO is your main marketing strategy, if you are just doing social media marketing, then SEO doesn't really matter. Plus Ecwid is primarily designed to be integrated with other platforms, rather than being a stand alone ecommerce website builder and other platforms such as WordPress are very good for SEO, so it doesn't matter if Ecwid itself isn't good for SEO as it is being used as a checkout.
Sorry, I can't offer much advice as you need to develop a marketing strategy. Who is your target audience? How can you reach said audience? Why should they buy from you? What are you doing to convince them to buy from you? Marketing is a constantly evolving process and without a plan, you probably won't sell much and it also takes time, a lot of trial and error and some money to run/test ad campaigns in order to start getting sales.
@@ogechiezigbo1810 Start creating relevant content and keep posting consistently! Eventually move to promoting online and promoting the oldschool way (flyers, business cards etc)
Ecwid is Ok until you need to ACTUALLY process an order!!! Ecwid does not allow you to BUY and PRINT Shipping Labels! You have to use a 3rd party shipping app!, very disappointing! Ecwid also does not do international currencies! you have to pay for a third part app to show correct currencies, Ecwid also does tell you what taxes are charged internationally, and that YOU have to collect taxes on behalf of every country you ship to and SOMEHOW pay those collected taxes back to the TAX DEPARTMENTS of each county separately!!!, there is NO Information of any kind regarding collecting taxes and how to pay it back! And yes, I am an ecwid business user, it taken 3 months to set up my store ! and I only have 15 items!!!!
Hi Dave, shipping labels are usually purchased via third-party apps such as Shipstation rather than directly from the platform, this gives you flexibility to choose who your shipping partner is and tax is the responsibility of the website owner, not the platform and this can be a big headache when selling internationally. From what you have said, it sounds like an ecommerce marketplace such as Ebay or Amazon may have been a better option for you than building a standalone website as things like shipping labels can be bought directly.
@@EcommerceGold Hi Paul, Thanks for replying so quickly! Ebay or Amazon are not suited to my products, I design and manufacture my own products, I only sell to business customers, not retail, so that why amazon or ebay or similar aren't suited, as they take to much "CUT", also I don't need to mass market to the 'regular" retail channels ( it seems most ecommerce software is targeted at clothing and gifts), will be relying on direct marketing techniques( but this isn't my problem yet), my industry is very small and specialized. My point about ECWID is it incomplete, for example, why does it have any order processing features when its not providing the shipping labels? They do provide label printing for USPS only for the USA, so they have all the code in the software, so I cannot see why they cannot allow the use of this functionality for other countries and any shipping company you choose! regarding taxes, I have not seen much information regarding this subject, ECWID says it calculates all the taxes automatically, but i am yet to see where this info goes, it must be carefully recorded so I can keep track of it, and make arrangements for paying it back. It would be nice if the credit card companies did this automatically for us? There is also issues with international shipping compliance, you have to register in every countries TAX OFFICE you deal with and somehow record this somewhere. you also have to deal with customs and supply COMMODITY CODES, this is a tricky area. The thing is, Ecommerce (at least for international) is advertised and marketed as if it's easy, but i have not seen any software that deals with this. I am however EVALUATING SHIPSTATION today!
That makes sense why Amazon or Ebay wouldn't work for you. With the shipping labels, it is unfortunately not just a case of having the code but setting up integrations with the shipping companies like USPS, FedEx, DHL to make sure that their system and the ecommerce platforms work together and most platforms that offer integrations will only have a small selection of most popular shipping companies where their largest customer base is (Usually the USA!) and sometimes using a third-party app can actually be a better option as they partner with more shipping companies. Some customers also don't require shipping labels to be available directly on the platform as they may use third-party order management software etc. With regards to the taxes, is it not possible to customise the order exporter within Ecwid so that you can see what taxes were paid on each order? Just a thought as I know they offer a few options in the order exporter. International ecommerce is most definitely not easy! It is one of the reasons I stayed well away from it as dealing with domestic taxes are bad enough, let alone ones from other countries.

Ecwid does have apps that link to accounting software.

It could be because Ecwid may offer a feature you need that Wix doesn't or you may prefer using Ecwid for ecommerce than Wix.
