- Are you unable to restore your backup from your laptop? Please use these recommendations in this video.
This video is meant for those who put a backup on your laptop. Recommendations are not meant for iCloud users.
Common errors you might receive:
"iTunes could not restore the iPhone because an error occurred while reading from or writing to the iPhone"
"iTunes could not restore the iPhone because the iPhone disconnected"
"An unknown error occurred (0xE800000C)"

Condensed steps:
1: Update iPhone and iTunes software.
2: Try using a new lighting cable or a different USB port.
3: Check the amount of space on laptop and clear 2-4GB of space.
4: Replace iPhone
Please do not delete the iPhone backup folder to make space! Another possible option you can try is copying the backup on a USB and copying it to another computer. However, I do not recommend this option.
what if my backup is too big to restore my Iphone (Iphone doesnt have enough space for my backup to recover it)

Dude! Thank you for posting this. I had tried seemingly everything. That includes updating my iOS and iTunes versions, using an authentic cord, etc. What really fixed things for me was realizing that the storage on my computer was being reduced by all the backups it was duplicating, and after I deleted all of those, and made sure I had enough space, it finally worked.

It is absolutely insane that these large technology companies put such vague, useless error messages in their best selling products! I have no doubt they could put detailed messages with the solutions for the most common errors, but choose not to.
Hi Bro, To fix a problem with hiding and unhiding the App Store, I have contacted Apple. They have tried different options but none of them resolved the issue. So they have suggested to take backup data of the data and try factory reset and restore the data from the backup.
So I have taken backup using iTunes on my computer. No issues reported while the backup was taken. I have proceed with factory reset and tried to restore the data from the backup. After around 6 hours the restore failed saying backup is corrupt. As suggested by Apple I have tried to restore with Apple Devices App but none of them worked and they are now suggesting to try third party tool to recover the data. Any suggestions on how we can restore photos and videos from the backup. I don’t think the data can be restored back to iPhone.
The first restore has failed due to lack of space on C drive as my backup is 64GB and the restore has created another copy while restoring from backup.
So I found the backup folder and there are like 9 extra backups did you recommend deleting them or just free up some space in the computer. Thanks for the assistance.
Holy Shit bravo man!!! you totally just saved me because I have been trying to fix this forever!! I ran out of storage while trying to restore my phone and that created backup after backup lol. and I would have never thought to check and delete the extra backups! thanks a lot man you are a king!
@@thehartyboys3585 hey bro, how many GB was your backup folder and how many GB did you free up if you dont mind me asking. and as for the extra backups created, did you end up deleting them from the mobilesync/backup folder? or should i not delete them and attempt to make space? appreciate any help on this issue and hope to pass any thing forward to people who are going through what im going through and what i assume you may have been going through at that time, having potentially lost all sensitive/important data. thanks in advance for any reply.
What can I do if I can see the back up on my laptop (apple/ mobilesync/ backup) but when I go to iTunes I can't find it there and can't press the restore button and it says I never backuped to this pc
That’s a different issue that I have not come across. My recommendation is to copy the backup to a USB for safe keeping. Uninstall and reinstall iTunes. Make sure the backup is placed back in the mobilesync once completed. Retry the restore backup.

Hello, I was able to locate the backup folder. But the video doesn’t provide steps to transfer the file to your phone. Can you please provide additional steps after you located your most recent backup file.
You have to put the backup on your phone using the ITunes software. I recommend copying it on a USB so you don’t lose it!

My Ipjone SE 2020 has exactly the same problem, keeps duplicating the pc so it gets full...
So, i have a tiny tiny bit of the screen glass broken, does that mean that apple won´t fix the problem because i lose warranty?

That’s a very good question and I honestly don’t know. If the phone is still under warranty you’d think you’ll be okay. They may add a fee for the screen replacement?
after clicking on restore backup it loads for somethime and say iphone couldnt restore because backup doesnt exists
checked on c disk the backup files is taking over 40gb but why not restoring ;-;
Is it located in the right folder? Copy it just in case it’s lost. Make sure it’s in the right Apple folder.

its not letting me restore but my file stays the same. Also what does it mean if my file is completely empty?
File needs to have the old backup. Is the backup missing or in another file?
My pc got enough storage but my backup file duplicates it selfs every time I want to restore backup ?
That’s exactly what mine was doing. It stopped duplicating after replacing the iPhone.

@@UnknownAfghan353 A corrupted file is different problem. I did not run into that problem. Research methods of restoring a corrupted file. Otherwise, if it keeps duplicating… you’ll need to replace the phone.

Can you upload an iPhone back up to iCloud & then restore the phone from iCloud?
Yes.
My iPhone is stuck on connect to iTunes , I connect to iTunes , I click the restore , it does nothing , I click update and it does nothing .
Make sure iTunes is up to date as well as the device your using to update with.
Are you going to delete those files which back up many times?
That’s what happen to my laptop. Full of storage because of more than 3x back up because it stopped in the middle
Delete the copies but be careful not to delete the main one.

One more thing is i can't find my backup file in my pc but itunes shows that i can restore my backup and everytime i try to restore its start to restore for few mins and then the same error occured notifications pops up
@@adnanahmed8442 and there’s plenty of space on the device? If there’s plenty of space and it’s doing repeated errors than the iPhone is faulty.
@@adnanahmed8442 I added in steps to locate the file. You can also try typing in and searching for the file. Just please do not delete it!!! Copying is okay though.
I got the same issue, it says "Could not restore the iphone `My_Name` because an error occurred".
Someone resolved it?
- My macbook has latest version (it means now no use iTunes, it has in Finder directly)
- My iphone has latest version
- My backup folder has ~100GB
=> Try to reset, restart, update,... & try again so many times ==> after 5 - 10 minutes, failed with the same error message.

@@boosti_alex1428 I backuped my phone with about 250 gb, and now when i try to restore my backup on the new phone, it says that i didnt have enough free space. Does it help if I buy extra GB with icloud to restore it?
The storage one work but it keeps copying its self and messing with the storage
If the backup keeps recopying itself then it’s likely an internal issue with the iPhone. Every time I tried to restore the backup, the folder would duplicate. Problem was fixed after replacing the phone.
@@boosti_alex1428 is it an internal issues of the iPhone if there’s a copy of the backup every time you try to backup or multiple copies for a single backup attempt . This is stressing me cause first my system storage was 46gb so in attempts to clear is I backed up then reset now it keeps failing to restore backup . I even tried restoring on my old iPhone which I had rested and same except this one fails straight away . Tried to replace cable as well. One of my family members has a spare iPhone and I will try it tomorrow as I have literally spent hours today stressing to fix this .

When i am going ahead with restoring process it shows that it is erasing and restoring but in actual it is just erasing and phone is turning on like a new iphone and not with my backup data. @@kumarsarthak96 bro I did not fix but I had one idea you can try . Using a third party software you can try to extract your photos from the backup on pc and delete it from then backup to clear some storage and keep the photos on pc . I tried this but I accidentally deleted my backup so idk if it will work and I just had to setup phone as new
i deleted itunes please make a video on to download it back
Go to iTunes and reinstall the correct software based on the laptop/desktop you own. Lots of great videos out there how to install iTunes :)

Heyyyy I was soo down thought lost everything tried everything from updating to deletling redundant backups to new cables three computers moving the backup to different PCS and hard drives. And Guess What I got a Apple Care Swap and SNAP It worked. The new replacement took the back up. I am soo grateful for this video. I had to convince the Apple techs and finally a kind rep over the phone sent a new one and it worked. Thank you so much @boosti_alex😀
