Granted, I take omega-3, B1 & multivitamin, I walk a great deal and eat fresh fruit and/or vegetables daily. Type 1 diabetes since 1978. Some days, I do not take insulin bc of hypoglycemia. Take care & invest in self indeed.
Unfortunately fruit and veg have an undeserved halo reputation. Fruit used to be consumed seasonally, for just a short period, when people would fatten up for Winter. Now it's available year round, and covered in pesticides for good measure. Most of the vegetables we eat these days didn't exist a couple of hundred years ago.
@charlestoast4051 I grow my own produce, so no pesticides there. Everything should be eaten in moderation. That's common sense. So ppl can tons of fried fruit with no immediate issue. I'm well up in age but will run until I hurt, just to hv a decent baseball ⚾️ game with strangers. There's too much sidewalk & too many museums to walk through to have loads of sugar in the the body. Take care & keep staying healthy indeed.
Thanks for another very informative, helpful video. Too many people are insulin-resistant and don't know it, until they are diagnosed with pre-diabetes or diabetes. Alerting patients to the causes and dangers of insulin resistance would be a great help for the patients, but not good for the doctors' or clinics' balance sheets! We desperately need many more medical doctors of your caliber.
I’ve tried all kinds of things and I think variety is important. I try to stick to 50g of carbs daily this gives me a wider choice of vegetables and a varied diet.
I’m not overweight but I purchased a product and I didn’t realize it had cane sugar..it was a coconut milk for frothy tea… I used it twice and my blood sugar was under 100.. with this cane sugary drink my blood 🩸 sugar went up to 104 - 105… I also bought Strawberries and blueberries… 🫐 that could have added to the higher blood sugar… I exercise a lot… between 10,000 - 14,000 steps on exercise days… mostly 5 days a week because I clean house and on those days maybe 8,000 steps… I’m 76 and I do 90 lbs on the weights…
We like seeing what he's talking about also, we're 1-3rd thru, bitting at the bit will he say use muscle as a insulin/glucose sink, More muscle less metabolic syn.yea my favorite anty fade and resilient activator,by.
Stress is not the problem… it’s how we respond to stress… look at President Donald Trump.. he has so much stress but he doesn’t respond to it in a negative way…. I use exercise, meditation and a grateful attitude to deal with stress…
Me too. I need to stop using food as a tool whenever some nosy parker gets in my business. I need to say: "Thank you for your feedback, but I'm not comfortable talking about that right now."
Ty for this ! Could you please do a segment on artificial sweeteners and how they affect the body? I’m talking aspartame, Sucralose… not sure about natural alternatives like monk fruit and stevia. I’ve also heard of the insulin spikes from “natural flavours”. Any fur5er info on all these would be much appreciative. Thanks for your continued dedication to bringing forth more awareness of how to stay healthy! ❤
Jan 24, in U.K. Royal Institute Christmas lectures still available on BBC4, 3rd lecture is about food and the food industry, if that doesn’t put you off ultra processed food nothing will. I highly recommend.
Thank you for your wonderfully educational videos Dr. Dhand. Could you please display a plant protein in your future videos when showing us a healthy dish (instead of something like eggs).
Great advice here; if we could manage to do all of the things mentioned here, most of us would actually be healthy. One other thing that most people don't consider, but I suspect is a major reason for such widespread poor health, is that most of us eat too often throughout the day. In the past, people would eat at mealtimes, maybe two or three times a day, and have literally nothing to eat for several hours in between. Now, the vast majority of us basically snack all day long. This results in blood glucose levels constantly, sometimes dramatically, bouncing up and down all day, which can't possibly be doing our pancreas and liver any favors, and probably leads to widespread secondary effects like brain fog and mood dysregulation.
Dr Dhand - I need this video more than ever! I got a HOMA-IR done after watching one of your past vids - it was 5.1, which is "significantly insulin resistant." Although the fasting glucose is 5.5, the fasting insulin was 21 (normal is up to 24) which I think is still dangerously high. I bet that the normal range for fasting insulin that the lab gives is going to contain a whole bunch of pre-diabetics, so just bc it is stil "within normal range" does not mean it is OK. Many thanks and Happy New Year
I’m reluctant to rely on numbers that “tests” spit out. There are so many factors that come into play. And your brain/thoughts can influence your metabolic pathways in ways we cannot imagine.
I've been making prosthetics limbs for over 43 years now, My job has become busier due to type 2 diabetes and obesity. It's so sad that many people are losing limbs through lifestyle changes. 🙏
Thank you for all the helpful suggestions to be in better health. I need to include more exercise, everything else you mentioned, I'm doing and at 68, I am not on any prescription meds. I'm very thankful. The only thing you mentioned I don't agree with is diet pop. It has aspartame. Can't that create other health issues and thyroid disease? That's what I've heard from other doctors. Happy New Year to you, thanks again for all your helpful videos.
We have a local brand of soda that is made with regular not glucose-fructose, also a lower amount of sugar. I think that is safer than eating the artificial amino acids in diet drinks.
How about a brief touch on Berberine and Metformin? The science seems to have recently changed on the use of Metformin to lessen insulin resistance in non-diabetic people. All your suggestions are wonderful but age is a tough factor to overcome here and sometimes we need a bit of extra help.
I have fibromyalgia and would like to know which of your supplements would possibly help with this. I had a blood test and it showed that i had a lot of inflammation in my body. Thank you Dr Suneel Dhand for caring for us ❤
Almost all family doctors don’t explain the health issue of Insulin Resistance to their patients suffering from Inflammatory Diseases. If patients understand it fully their health outcomes will improve. Sometimes I am wondering whether these family doctors fully appreciate the dangers of insulin resistance.
Great information. It's a shame that the medical community, overall, won't acknowledge this. BTW, my handwriting is worse.Could I get in trouble for practicing medicine without a license? 🤣
I have been limiting my added sugar to no more than 25 grams a day and avoiding highly and ultra processed foods. I avoid seed oils and use extra virgin olive oil and butter. I use Ezekiel's 4-9 and Rustik breads. I feel great turning 60 in a week and on no prescriptions. People comment on my health and I tell them what I do and a few start to check into it but most do not change even acknowledging what it has done for me. I am getting disgusted with the Ozempic e-mails I wish they would not push that unhealthy way to lose weight.
@Dr. Dhand, can you make a video to help educate us on what bioengineering foods are and any potential harms they may do because for years had been eating Progresso Clam Chowders and they now read bioengineered ingredients on the back side of the cans so in the trash they went. Is this what they are calling fake foods on media platforms? Please educate as you can and may choose. Happy New Year 2025 Everyone! He is on hormone therapy injections every 3 months. He had already 4 injections and it dropped to nearly 0.something. My question is that although we are thank full that it dropped why does he still needs these injections every 3 months as it has side effects. Can his PSA not be monitored and as soon as it gets high say 4 or 5 then do the injection again? Won't it be better to get an operation to remove his testiculs rather? We mentioned to his oncologist to do injections intermittently but she says just now it goes up again? We would so appreciate your thoughts on this as he is 82 and hate feeling weak, hot flushes and his appetite is also influenced. We just want to know is there not better options? Thank you so much Dr Khand for all your information to help us take care of our health. We need more doctors like you who care about people to take care of our health. I walk everyday, do pull ups on my Total Gym and watch what I eat. I do a 15 hour fast from 5:30 p to 8:30 a everyday. I am 77 years old. Keep sharing your information for us. God bless you so much.
I was doing the carnivore diet during the week but I would blow it on the weekend. I couldn't believe how good I felt, no inflammation. During the holidays I started eating out and eating treats. I got a lot of inflammation even in my lips and put on 10 pounds. I just got back to eating carnivore again. So not worth eating the crap food when you see how good you feel eating healthy.
Retired. Ran 8,500 sprints this year. 100 yarders. Got to 2x35 a day. Reached 11th grade weight. Ran my ass off. Most in one day was 100. Almost 500 miles total. Walked back to starting line. Another near 500 miles. Age 69. God I want my high school speed back. Seen 49 pulse at rest at lowest. No dr no meds. Don’t even know one.
👍👍🙏💕
@M231231 Seems intense. Be careful not to overdo it. Too much of a good thing can be counter-productive.
I appreciate your goodness! ❤ California here. BLESSINGS.
You are amazing Doctor. I am so impressed by you. You are certainly wanting the best for your followers and patients. Is coconut sugar a good substitute for sugar. Yes I am interested. I agree simple meals are good. It is better to cook from scratch. I walk a lot. I do not drink alcohol. Doctor you are so helpful. I cannot do exercise. I have a brain aneurysm and Doctor said not to do any. I used to do a lot but not now.Appreciation. Thank you so very much. Kindest regards from England.
Aren't they planning on surgery for your aneurysm? I had one in the Circle of Willis almost 20 years and they inserted coils through a cath.
Thank you, Dr. Dhand. It’s good to be reminded that it often just takes more awareness and small tweaks to change one’s life for the better.
Hello from the Pacific. Thankyou for this valuable information! 🙏. We have alot of obese and diabetic people here.
Bravo 👏 We need more doctors like you!
Thanks Doc. Aussie Bob 😊
Thank you for direct to the point video which are 15 minutes long without the dreaded music playing.
Excellent advice Dr Dhand as always 👏
a very simple and complete explanation of our health problem and what we need to do in 14 minutes!
Thank you, doctor. You are speaking the truth.
I’ve tried all kinds of things and I think variety is important. I try to stick to 50g of carbs daily this gives me a wider choice of vegetables and a varied diet.
Thank you Dr.Dhand !🙏🫶
Very informative. Well said! 👏 👌 👍
Very good Dr. Dhand. Great presentation.
Cleaning the house is exercise
Nothing wrong with berries.😂
Thank you for doing so much to help all humans to better health outcomes.
Oh. Boy! The White board! 🎉Well you know that this is gonna be a great video! 😊
We like seeing what he's talking about also, we're 1-3rd thru, bitting at the bit will he say use muscle as a insulin/glucose sink, More muscle less metabolic syn.yea my favorite anty fade and resilient activator,by.
Flip chart.
Love your teachings!! Blessings in the New Year 🎉❤
Excellent, thank you!
Stress is not the problem… it’s how we respond to stress… look at President Donald Trump.. he has so much stress but he doesn’t respond to it in a negative way…. I use exercise, meditation and a grateful attitude to deal with stress…
I should work on that myself 😢
@@robm2707I handle my stress by WALKING and lost 40 lbs. also keep low carb.
Me too. I need to stop using food as a tool whenever some nosy parker gets in my business. I need to say: "Thank you for your feedback, but I'm not comfortable talking about that right now."
And…to the white board! Thank you for all you share with us. Give it to us straight!
Thank you Dr. Dhand . Very helpful info.
Thankyou for the information and your voice of sanity.
Spot on, Dr. Dhand!!
Thank you for the information!
I’m learning so much from you straight forward style, keep up the good work!
Jan 24, in U.K. Royal Institute Christmas lectures still available on BBC4, 3rd lecture is about food and the food industry, if that doesn’t put you off ultra processed food nothing will. I highly recommend.
Sorry should say Jan25, program broadcast in Dec 24.
January Carnivore Challenge!❤ Try it, you might love it. It's a great reset for your body.❤🥩
very familiar, changed my life/habits and consequently my health
Glad to hear this!
Excellent information!
A man who cares. Thanks Sunil
Psalm 94:2 Rise up, oh judge of the earth; repay to the proud what they deserve.
Thank you Dr 👍🏻x
Thank you for your wonderfully educational videos Dr. Dhand. Could you please display a plant protein in your future videos when showing us a healthy dish (instead of something like eggs).
good advice for everyone
Thank you very much for your great work Dr Dhand 🍻
Dr Dhand - I need this video more than ever!
I got a HOMA-IR done after watching one of your past vids - it was 5.1, which is "significantly insulin resistant."
Although the fasting glucose is 5.5, the fasting insulin was 21 (normal is up to 24) which I think is still dangerously high.
I've been making prosthetics limbs for over 43 years now,
My job has become busier due to type 2 diabetes and obesity.
Dr Dhands the Man
Thank you, doctor 😊❤
Dr Suneel HEALS
De novo lipogenesis is the clearance pathway for excess serum glucose. Insulin resistance is the diminished capacity for de novo lipogenesis.
We have a local brand of soda that is made with regular not glucose-fructose, also a lower amount of sugar. I think that is safer than eating the artificial amino acids in diet drinks.
THANK YOU ❤❤❤
Fasting between 15-18 hours daily any good?
Nailed it man. Doing mostly self made hamburgers at home and walking lowered my systolic blood pressure from 140s to 120s and diastolic from 85 to 76.
Words to (quite literally) live by!
How about a brief touch on Berberine and Metformin? The science seems to have recently changed on the use of Metformin to lessen insulin resistance in non-diabetic people. All your suggestions are wonderful but age is a tough factor to overcome here and sometimes we need a bit of extra help.
Excellent health advice
❤❤❤❤❤
I’ve heard NMN is great for insulin regulation & weight loss management
Nicotinamide mononucleotide.
Great info,
I have fibromyalgia and would like to know which of your supplements would possibly help with this. I had a blood test and it showed that i had a lot of inflammation in my body. Thank you Dr Suneel Dhand for caring for us ❤
Hello Doc.
Any thoughts on carnivore diet, and paleo diet?
P.s. other thoughts on carnivore to reverse chrons disease without medication?
Almost all family doctors don’t explain the health issue of Insulin Resistance to their patients suffering from Inflammatory Diseases. If patients understand it fully their health outcomes will improve. Sometimes I am wondering whether these family doctors fully appreciate the dangers of insulin resistance.
Long life health and happiness always !
I never drink soda or juice. I decided to go off sugar for one year.
Great information. It's a shame that the medical community, overall, won't acknowledge this.
BTW, my handwriting is worse.Could I get in trouble for practicing medicine without a license? 🤣
🤣
Great video as always Doc
Also, would it be the same, even better or at least equal to drink half a regular soda than a whole diet soda?
Thank you for this Dr Suneel ! have you heard of the fatty acid C15 as well? would you recommend it as a supplement?
Your videos are so helpful
Happy to help!
@@drsuneeldhandGood day Doctor, I just want to know if you please can do a video on prostate cancer? My dad is 82 and his psa was 27 they did a biopsy and he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Thank you for your care and time! God bless!
