Great video! I have the same experience too, since I modded my 2ds, my time had shifted away from the switch because of those hefty price tags for new and old titles.
TOTK ruined it all for me, that game runs like total dogshit on the switch. I'm gonna get emu running on my desktop and play in 60fps 1080p one of these days. Its a shame because TOTK is an amazing game on low powered hardware.

pretty handy video describing the time afterwards. i modded mine like a month ago and this describes my progress to a tee, just a bit slower. i'm currently in the process of finishing shovel knight 3ds (HIGHLY recommend) and picking up mario kart 7, ds and super circuit every so often
I’m 42 now. I used to really enjoy playing computer games but I got to a point I just didn’t enjoy them any more. Modern games take such an investment of time just to get into them not to mention the hours, days or weeks to complete them. I recently got and modded a 3ds and finally have a “modern” console that I can enjoy for a few minutes or a couple of hours. Plus there’s the access to a vast range of games from earlier systems and remakes.

Everyone thought I've modded my 3DS because I had just bought like 200 games on eshop (from virtual console to indie little gems), I had a lot and I still played them all since I acumulated them through time. Actually, waiting for big sales to get super cool games for cheap just makes you play more games, since you feel great by launching'em after. I've recently modded it to get pretendo since I knew it would be the only way to play online to my owned games, and so far I only installed 10~15 games, I only played through 2 and launched all the other to cut'em while I was 50% in, and launched the others to do the same, never finishing it in the end. Just buy your games, you'll play them, you'll see.

capture cards for 3ds are insanely expensive and require extensive modification to install. edit: as far as mods, just get custom firmware installed, then once you have Hshop and universal updated installed the world is your oyster. From there I'd get Twilight Menu ++. Depending on what games you want and how many of them you might consider using New Super Ultimate Injector 3DS to turn your nes, snes, gb, gbc, gba, and genesis roms into virtual console titles that install to the homescreen and run on the native emulation that the 3ds uses. If you don't want to mess with that you can run all those roms from twilight menu

i had a modded 3ds since the mod came out lol i am staying on hombrew 3ds i am leaving my 3ds modded . also i still buy games before downloaing the roms i download the roms or back them up if i dont get it on time heck i even modded my ps vita too beable too get the vita pkg shop app and too be able too record now and same with my 3ds modded too i can record without capture card
ive only been playing phoenix wright trilogy lol i have like a million other games but im super focused on that one (i have 60 hours on the trilogy, and im not even past case 2 for game 3)

@@GREENGAMER41 It’s completely safe, literally just follow instructions on the official guide (not any random RUclips video, use the official text guide) and you can mod it in maybe an hour, and then in another hour or two you can easily have all your games downloaded. You won’t mess anything up as long as you don’t do anything obviously dumb
Sadly Oled’s are expensive asf to mod. Its 20 bucks for a mod chip. Plus another 50 for a cheap soldering iron. Or 100-200 bucks if you have no clue what youre doing and dont wanna destroy your switch. Honestly isnt worth it for the average person. Its more like a project for those who know. But modded switches are so cool i got one. I can only hope for the day i get a modded oled
Yeah Nintendo Switch games are a rip-off. You can get games like Frostpunk when on sale at 3 dollars. THREE. DOLLARS. Meanwhile, Nintendo sells re-releases of old games at full price.

3 Months later and people still won't stop talking about this stuff on RUclips and increasing the likelihood of it being taken away from us but hey the algorithm am I right.
nintendo have been well aware of having their systems modded since like the 90s with gamesharks and stuff lol. throughout the entire systems life they've been trying to patch it however still right now it is so much easier to mod than it ever was, people making videos about it wont get it taken away
@@vglotus the issue isn't in Nintendo knowing, they obviously know that's why they build in protections, the issue is in the volume of participants leading to not only patches being implemented but unforeseen consequences like switch game prices and premium services going up in which we're already seeing more of. Plus just overall stricter opposition from game devs in general.

I cant mod mine. I’ve got an ambassador edition and the 20th pokemon anniversary edition. Both very rare and worth a lot lol
Modding it literally does not affect the value at all (if anything may increase it slightly in some cases) and is completely reversible
