Amazing! I literally just spent 3 hours of my life searching the internet for this solution and nothing worked, even having this explained online netted no results for this 5gb file stuck in my trash. Followed your directions and was able to delete the file immediately after disabling SIP. Re-enabled SIP and now I’m good to go, thank you so much!

Thank you so much for this. Finally got this huge file off my Mac. Any advice on how to get it out of my iMovie now? It’s still stuck in there and won’t delete even though I’ve tried and it has the red bar across the top as if it’s been semi-deleted but it’s still there and I can’t import anything else into iMovie because of it.

on mac m1 u just hold the power button whilst turning it on and it will say keep holding the power button to reach recovery mode

I did, and it’s still in my bin , the folder , I went through all the steps from terminal ext ext , I have even seen other videos on RUclips from other people and also tried, nothing seems to work. I actually spent 3 hours last night trying all the methods with no luck

I have a file "com.apple.aned" in my Library - Caches that just won't delete. Neither in safe mode! It's 0 KB but it's driving me crazy that it won't delete. A bit worried that my Mac may have been hacked so I don't know if this is related. Do you know what it is? Will the method you show delete this folder? Should I delete it or not?
