Unofficial is trickier. You might want to try lineage 19 first (forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-unofficial-lineage-os-19-for-samsung-a50.4344733/) Or try a clean install with the GSI. It may take a few extra steps: forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-install-gsi-rom-on-samsung-galaxy-a50-tested-on-sm-a505f.3956120/
Having already done this several weeks ago, it was good to see how easy you made this look. At the time, I did not re-install Magisk as I thought rooting the device (OnePlus 6T) again would prevent microG from working. Would it be possible for me to now simply sideload Magisk again?
@@CyberPunkEdu Yes, it worked. I changed the apk to a zip file and used adb to install, then used Root Checker and root access is confirmed. Am I right in thinking that safety net would not pass muster? I must admit though, I'm not sure what use to make of Magisk for everyday use.
@@paulbailey6251 Glad that it worked. It is a bit more work to pass safety net and I think it is device dependent sometimes. It would be necessary for google pay (but then you can't use microg, and have to use LOS +Gapps) I haven't found the need for root either, though some apps would require it.
There will be data loss for Gapp installation. These add-ons are best installed right after a fresh install of LineageOS. If you want to add Gapps (and didn't previously) then you will have to factory reset first and wipe the data. Magisk can be installed without wiping/reseting (no data loss).
Hey I'm the guy from Reddit and thank you so much. You are amazing!!!

It should be ok to sideload Magisk again. I did that and I didn't notice effects on microG, but let me know how it goes for you :)
