- Here I go into detail about the worst countersink I've ever purchased, but in the process discovered something concerning about TEMUs ratings process. Watch through the end to see if you agree and help others out by following this link to see if you see my one-star review.

Here's the full TEMU haul video if you'd like to watch that. I was initially misled to think that I had a great deal on the countersink bits but was sadly mistaken after testing them. But several of the items were quite good. I love the small ruler, reading glasses and center punch. The sanding sponges are okay but the mortising chisel and bit along with the countersinks were not good.

Yeah, I couldn't find your review. I scrolled for like 5 minutes. So many five star reviews that say "Haven't tried the product yet, but looks good!"
That's what I was afraid of, that they are hiding the bad reviews, letting the reviewer think it was posted when it's not or it's buried so deep, you'll never see it. I probably unknowingly agreed to have my reviews removed if I opted to return a product or get a refund. 😅

Lucky for us Amazon never fakes reviews!
Don't know if I'd say that, but Amazon's reviews are more reliable than Temu based upon my experience.
Actual user reviews on products are fairly accurate, the movie reviews, particularly on their rentals are another story. Every rental is the greatest movie ever made until users actual reviews surface and then the rating declines over months until something close to reality appears.@@RosinityWW

it's not front and centre, of course, but your revview is there. within the reviews section is you choose 'lowest ratings' from the drop-down it's there with a load of other 1 star reviews saying they don't work. good video though, while I think it should be obvious to anybody living in a developed country that this set of 'tools' for that price should be considered more a toys than tools, that's just how capitalism works, I also realise that plenty of people out there just don't realise that and videos like this can be a good warning so fair play......
I'd be interested to see the ratio of bot generated versus actual customer review too though!

No, your review is not there. All reviews were 4 or 5 stars, many from people who hadn't used them yet, many who said they were worth the price (including one gal who got them for free), and one guy who said they came in the color he ordered. Lots of places send people free merchandise if they will write reviews (one of my daughter's wrote reviews and got free stuff), and writing bad reviews means getting dropped from the system. In such programs there is huge incentive to write good reviews without honest evaluation.
That's great feedback. I love free stuff, too, but I want to be sure you can stand behind what I recommend or don't recommend. I'm guessing I'm on TEMUs black last. (Just so everyone knows, I'm not suicidal nor do I plan on having a life-ending accident anytime soon. 😬)
I will give Amazon credit, I'm in the Vine program where they send me stuff to review and there's zero influence to give a good review. When I give bad reviews I'm often contacted by the vendor offering a refund, with the idea I suppose of my withdrawing the review, but since I didn't pay for the product I'm not interested in a refund. There are tons of fake good reviews on there by shills, you do have to watch out for that, but they don't manipulate the reviews the way the Chinese sites do.
ok you paid like $2.98 for the bit set and you're complaining in a video, all you have to do is go to their web page that has your order and they will give an instant credit refund or 5 day refund to however you paid and usually you don't have to return the item...by the the way great picture of your hand, it would be better if we saw how the bit was interacting with the wood....also try using the countersink and the bit separately so you can tell which is the problem
If that's what you got out of this, you apparently didn't watch the full video. I made those points very clear about the price. The bigger issue is the suspect ratings where I show that the poor reviews are being hidden.
Your point about my hand being in the way is taken and I agree. However, it's clear that the countersinks are bad, as I also mention and clearly show in the video. How much did you even watch?

Video should be about three seconds long - don't by anything from temu.
Didn't watch the video, did you? If you follow along, the primary discovery that I made was regards to their suspect ratings...
@tyWW 1) Your second sentence is not a complete thought. So I have no idea what you mean. 2a) The video was about temu, so no, I did not watch the video. 2b) even reviewing temu crap suggests that there may be value somewhere. Temu "review" videos are a new trend that keep popping up in my feed. I don't know if Temu is paying youtubers (probably pays some, most probably unpaid just for the views is my guess) but the trend is giving a crap company mindshare it should never have. If a temu video does not start off with stating that there is no value in temu, the creator has already lost me. I got so sickened by one guy I've followed for years making a temu should I/shouldn't I video I had to unsubscribe. Regardless of what reiviewers say, people who never heard of this craptastic company now know and for temu that is a win. 3) the whole company is suspect.
tldr; temu is not worth reviewing and review videos only serve as promotion
@@NuncNuncNuncNunc I appreciate your honest and thorough feedback. Although you have some good points, I don't agree on all of them. But I do learn from every bit of feedback I get and will find ways to improve. All I tried to show here is the steps that unfolded that allowed me to see that there are some suspects things that TEMU is doing and I wanted to let others know. Appreciate your feedback. :)
I cant believe anyone would even consider anything from that obvious scam crap Chinese website.
My response to that is, do you buy anything from Amazon? Because if you do, a lot of what is on Amazon is on Temu at anywhere from 35% to 75% less - the exact same product. I didn't believe it until I saw it.
