There is a great documentary called CASUALS.
It tells the story of how the Casuals scene originated and how Adidas became Terrace Wear at football matches and Street Wear.

Excellent Vlog. The UK Northwest trainers culture started in the early 70s with British Brand Dunlop and in the late 70s local football or “soccer” teams Liverpool and Man Utd started playing in Europe and they would bring back Adidas or Puma trainers and tracksuits Ellesse, Sergio Tacchini and Lacoste.
In the 90s Airmax 1s took over and now in the Northwest it is Airmax 95s or 110s.
The reason that idiot Gallagher is wearing the adidas is someone is paying him.
If you want watch the Documentary by a proper British band member Peter Hooton called The Casuals. It’s all about the UK northwest and how it influenced the whole of the UK trainers or “sneakers” ideology in the UK.
Keep up the good work 👍👍

You forgot to say how Onitsuka Tiger is pretty big, Phil Knight was its distributor in the US before he started to build Nike. In Asia (i mean the whole Asia not only Japan and Korea), Mexico 66 is a staple of lifestyle sneakers opposed to Jordan 1.

Yeah I could have made this video so much longer I know. Sometimes you need to “kill your darlings” but its definitely a story that needs to be told.

Lol, nah not everyone bit in many countries its a big thing. The fun thing is the distance between the countries. Its not necessarily a regional thing. Netherlands, Russia and Japan are not really connected in fashion trends or whatsoever.

    Bro forgot about India 😅.
Let ke infork you about the sneaker culture here -
In India sneaker culture is a little different , people try to purchase the best quality on the budget. If we look into the best selling sneaker brands here , IT is -
    1. Puma - They cracked the code here , collaborating with Virat kohli and other cricketers, clubs , artists from here and also making available everything that they sell outside. There price to quality ratio is also one of the best.
    2. Reebok - They had the advantage of first come first serve
    3. Adidas and Nike - I kept both together because both has hype . Nike AJ has the most hype but Adidas sells more as India has very pittle basketball culture. Culture here is dominated by cricket , football , hockey, kabaddi etc.
Asics & Onitsuka - I mean, hype of tigers is on another level , everyone wants one.
New balance - They are slowly entering the market and doing good as they focused to enter the Cricket sportware market with FCS sports
Vans & Converse - These hold minor share , though I have Vans ,i havent seen many buying them . Woodland has totally replaced them .
Indian homegrown brands - Woodland , 7 10 , Comet they are getting more and kore popular . Comet is one brand which makes limited version of 500 or 600 pair of their sneaker , based on Indian preferences and culture which we really wished for. Their sneckers get out of stock within 5 mins in every drop as they only cost close to $ 58. But has hood quality , totally replacing Air Forces which i dont know why starts from $ 110 in India.

    • @loapsneakers
      @loapsneakers  7 месяцев назад

Thanks man! We didnt forget, today or tomorrow we will be uploading part 2 of this video and we will be discussing India as well.
Many things you say are covered in the video, the sad thing is that our sources didnt tell us about Puma, which is stated as number 1 in your storyline.
We did catch air of the mentality of buying best quality for the best prices and also the local brands such as 7-10 are covered.
Many people watching our videos are from India. Its cool to see how much sneaker culture is alive in your country!

Brazil is kind wrong tho, the nike shox is really popular, but that other one i've NEVER seen anyone wear that, the nike shox are the gangsta shoes here, and they're VERY expensive, so not everyone has one. Jordans, sambas, gazelles, dunks etc are veryyy expensive here too, so most people wear basic shoes here, like cheaper nikes or adidas, national sneakers brands like Rainha or Olympikus, or fake jordans etc

Unfortunately times were different in the mid 80’s. As the video also said it seems as a foregone conclusion nowadays. Im not sure if the term “inclusivity” was even invented around that time 😭. And yes, its scandalous that these things were seen as a risk in that era.

Im from Brazil, here most people think that those sneakers are ugly too LOL, people who wear those sneakers are the gangsters, rappers, yns, those type of people. Basically everyone here wears cheap national brand shoes, like olympikus, sneakers like jordans, dunks, gazelles, etc are only for rich people
