Why not back the trailer under the boat. Tie it to the trailer and pull forward a little to drain some of the water and reduce the weight.. Repeat until the transom is out of the water. Winch the boat forward a little at a time and let the bilge pump do its job.

Within the 1st minute I would have cranked the boat into the stop of the trailer and then pulled out while it was still up. Get the boat out of the water and then after getting level back into the water to get on the trailer. Question, why have a 150 on such a small boat that a 90 to 100 would suffice?

3:37 1. Hook the strap onto the eyebolt and lock it 2. Get in the truck 3. Drag the boat out of the water, onto the ramp if necessary 4. Pump out the boat, find out why it sank, and fix it 5. Refloat and secure it to the trailer 6. Find another hobby
The tax paying citizens of Haulover or the paying boaters of that boat launch need their hard earned money back for that fool, that bump on a log that was outfitted in a Sheriff uniform. He didn't do shit. Offered no advice, that I could see. Offered no direction/re-direction of other boaters away from that dock. I didn't necessarily expect him to jump in and help...but damn...dude....he did nothing but look like a fool watching 2 drunk fools deal with a sinking boat.....smh
Good on these guys for picking up their trash. Sometimes the day doesn't go your way. They hit something in the water, got back, and just could not manage to get the boat out correctly. Lots of disparaging comments, but if you spent the day on the water and was heading back in; you might not be making great decisions when you hit something and your boat starts sinking. They did the best they could with no help until it was too late despite several people being around. I have been helped and have helped at the boat ramp and that's hands on and neighborly. These chaps just ran out of luck at the end. The ultimate ending is very nice. God bless and be safe out there.
I'm not so sure they did the best they could. They made too many bad decisions and wayyyyy too much effort trying to get it square on the trailer instead of even just pulling it out partially before it capsized and sank all the way.

Dry dock it at the ramp gently at first. Slowly back the trailer up to it and winch it up slowly as you do. I have done it for 2 people who didn't know that boats have plugs! Also were drunk idiots. I agree to it is amazing no one has gotten in to help or offered assistance! That is cold blooded!

Attach a line to the bow and belay it to the back of the trailer and pull the boat up the ramp until you can drain the water out of the stern then deal with getting back on the trailer. At least the engine is spared this way.

This is why you pay yearly fee to one of the various tow/recovery/assist companies. Seatow, ustowboat, etc. I think my seatow is 99 a year maybe 199 a year.

Real-life Dumb and Dumber!! I needed this comic release after a frustrating day 😂. I'm sure that rip in the hull incurred on the way to the boat ramp. They should have just stayed home and continued drinking their beer instead of the "bright idea" to hit the road for a boat ride! I hope they were given a sobriety test before leaving the lot. At least one dude picked up the floating empty beer cans 😂. Expensive trip out for them. Ultimate dumb a****

Not everyone's the same, but tried to help, save a Red Necks boat at the ramp, all I got was shit attitude for it, have a 4x4 gmc w/alot of goodies, tow, snatch rope, etc., he destroyed his boat, made his truck into a submarine, then after all that asked if I could help him, told him w/that attitude he gave me, fuck off, get your other good ole boy brothers to help you, I'm older transplant from up N, we take care of each other up there, don't even have to ask, old school boaters !
First, slipping on a boat ramp is common. You don't need to be drunk
Sure, they made errors, and hindsight is always 20/20.
They tried, correctly, to get the boat on the trailer. Incorrect was to not line the trailer up directly with the dock. The next error was backing the trailer too far into the water. Even with only half the boat on it, it would have prevented rolling. The last thing would have been to stop the leak asap if it was possible.
90% of the peanut gallery wouldn't have done better and probably worse. I've actually pulled sinking boats out on ramps and wouldn't say I would have done better.

@_AndromedaGalaxy_ (whole?) milk is 8.6 pounds per gallon. I actually thought milk would be lower density due to butterfat content until I looked it up just now. But low fat milk is denser than whole milk. Why low fat milk is denser than water is a mystery to me.
