  • I finally got all the water and Prawns out of the pool. Ended up with about 8 lbs of good size Prawns and about 200 Prawns that will need more time to grow.

    Just bought 50 juvenile prawns from you on eBay I have been doing alot of research and I find there are a ton of uses for them looking forward to raising them and using them indoors in aquaponics.

      I feed them 2 times per day with high protein sinking pellets food and I don't change the water. I just top it off when it's low.

    the origins habits of this prawn is in indonesia n malaysia before spread to others countries. we call it udang galah or bamboo leg prawn. last year i fishing this prawn and got each is 350gram. hihihi. sorry i use broken english.

      Yes, Tiger and White Shrimps can be farm in RAS

      You'll need to test the water. It will not work if it's too hard. Hardness should be around 8ph

      Feeding is twice a day. Use high protein sinking pellets fish food or shrimps food. Just throw it into the container..

    i am looking to buy some prawns, as a pet. I am not planning to add fish unless as food for them, i know they can get aggresive through the time, but i am looking to get 3 females and 1 male.

      Hi. Air pump runs 24/7. They are bottom creatures so lots of air is needed.

    brother, i sub to your channel. inspiring and enjoyable content. i just started raising my own giants prawn about 2week ago. still struggle of food they need and i need help on information of taking care my 4 pregnant female prawns. 1 of the female eggs turn abit orange-dark by now. do i need to separate and place 1pregnang prawn per container? and also does water heater compulsory. im from malaysia.

      It all depends on housing size, water conditions and feeding. You can expect 100 gm in 5-7 months.

      It take about 4-5 months but can get bigger if you let them grow.

      It all depends on each person's meaning of "Worth It". It may cost you a bit more money and time to raise/plant your own food. But you do know how you are raising them. What you feed it/put in will ended up in your body.
      Or you can save money and time and just purchase imported products not knowing any history behind it.
      Again, it's all up to a person's point of view. There is no wrong or right, just a person's personal view and meaning. Thanks

      Terry Zammit Hi. They need water temperature between 78°F-84°F. They will feed on dead plants matters and fish pellets.

      So thats why in the winter you take them inside. I'm building a green house where I'll keep my rabbits. I'll try to keep it an average 21 degrees celcus . Hopefully even in the winter with the assistance of a heater I can maintain this temperature. What area do you sell them from?

      imran hossain Hi. These Prawns are around 3-4.5 months old. Yes, commercial is possible but you'll need a much bigger container/system.

    These look like blue claw shrimp and not prawns. Prawns are biologically different to that of a Shrimp. Not only do prawns have more claws they are a dendrobranchiata and a shrimp is a pleocyemata.

      Please look again. Some are orange claws , some are blue claws. It's the stage they go through to becoming adult prawn. Please Look it up and read on it more closely before make such comments. Thanks

      These are macrobarium rosengbergii, they're giant freshwater prawns found in southeast asian regions. They're imported and not endemic to North American territories. Udang Galah or Ulang
