I have one ride on the 34 front at Glen Helen and I loved it! I couldn't believe how light it felt while mounting. Good to see it looks like they shaved some weight. It's not much but it's saved un-sprung weight.
Great review on the tires. I assumed you would review it that way just looking at the tread pattern. My 23 YZ250X came with 33's and they are great for all around riding, but in the rocks and rocky trails they sucked. I installed some IRC Gekkota 33S hybrid gummies and it's a monster in the rocks now. Sucks on hard packed trails though. Knobs try to rip off. Happy New Year!!!
Thanks and Happy New Years to you as well! Yes the 33 was a good all around tire. It looks like these 34's are more focused on the softer stuff and may not last as long on harder stuff. I never even heard of IRC Gekkota 33S hybrid (not much for rocks here in Florida) so I googled them. Seems they are made for that stuff.
@@UpAllNight91 We race in VT, NH, Maine, and he does Jimmy Wienerts Moto School in North Carolina every February, and that MX14 Scoop tire is on the 85’s, and the 112 hold up extremely well on hard pack rocky tracks, and out performs everything on softer and sandy tracks, on the 250’s and 450’s the MX14 will wear more on hard pack because of the power difference, but man it is so darn good on his KX85 and KX 112, he used it 3/4 of the season last year and it’s still like new, can’t wait to pair up the new MX34 and that should give him the grip and confidence in the corners, especially down in the sand in NC, Happy New Year!

I really had fun at Punta Gorda. Punta gorda is not as fast of a track as 74 and is a little more jumpy. The dirt is similar though. More super cross like where 74 is more out door national like. I honestly cant say which one I like better, both are great just different. If the rain holds out I might do punta gorda again this sunday.
Hello. If its in a dark area or night, that can be normal. But if you can see it bright red in daylight that usually means the air fuel ratio is too lean. I would try turning the fuel screw out some to richen up the idle and see if that helps.
Thanks man! I went to the same track today and didnt feel like a ripper today, but it was 39 degrees this morning and my Florida fingers where frozen lol
Everyone I know who has put more then 30 hours on a yz 125 and 250 they get a little rattle not bad and everything is still perfectly in spec, do yk what it is does urs have if
Depends on the rattle. But the most common rattle from 2 strokes that happens at idle and just above idle is usually piston rattle. Often a new piston will cure this. But once the cylinder is worn pretty good then it will require a new piston and a replated or new cylinder. In the video linked below I talk about this and also start a bike to show how it sounds. ruclips.net/video/AoQ4_aqVjto/видео.html
@@JackMacdonald-ih3ht Rattling from piston noise can be normal. To what degree is acceptable is really the question. A little rattle wont hurt anything but when it starts rattling pretty loud I would address it.
@@jezuaccc Hello. I been only using dunlops for the past 10 years or so, so my experience with other brands is surely limited. But as far as dunlop the MX53 is good for the hard packed stuff and the MX34 is great for the softer stuff.
It really depends. Piston chatter is a sound that once you know it, you know it. A bad rod bearing can be different and sound different depending on how much play it has and sometimes it doesnt even make a sound, but more of a vibration. Any noise or vibration that is not your normal level of piston chatter for that bike should be looked into.
Man I’m running the front mx34 and it’s been nothing short of a disappointment initially. Slower turning than a 33. Less feel than a 33. Doesn’t hold a rut at all like a 33. Total fail imo that it took the place of a 33.
Oh bummer on the 34. I myself still cant tell a difference between the 34 and 33 front. They both do the same for me. What kinda terrain are you noticing this difference on?

For sure! Every little bit of un-spung weight matters. Glen Helen sounds like fun! I think you will like the rear 34 too. I really like the rear.
