Open the "Settings" app. Tap "General" Tap "CarPlay" Tap your vehicle's name (mine's a Ford, so it shows up as "Sync 3") Tap "Customize" The apps that are included in CarPlay are listed there -- some you cannot remove (Phone, Music, Messages, Now Playing and Settings). The ones that you *can* remove will be shown with a red "minus" sign next to them. Tap that minus-sign and it'll slide left and show you a "remove" button on the right. Tap that, and the app will be placed in a section at the bottom called "More Apps." If you have any apps in that "More Apps" section that you want to add, simply tap the green "plus" sign next to the app's name and it will move into the "Included" section at the top. To re-arrange the order in the "Included" section, press and hold the three-line icon to the right of the line on which the app appears and drag and drop the app within that list in the order you want the apps to appear on the Apple Car Play screen. I don’t like how short of time I have to verify a location incident or police. By the time I verify it is NOT there the warning disappears. No way to tap on it and update. Oh well...fun otherwise.

There is a speed limit icon on the map but the direction viewer when using navigation mode comes on top of it. All Waze needs todo is move the speed limit viewer the other side. Very weird but such an easy fix too.

It depends on the stereo but you may need to disable the parking brake feature. It’s a safety feature and it’s illegal to disable it. But it’s possible-Google how to disable parking brake feature for your specific stereo

ALL automakers should just leave off their awful built-in Nav systems. Give us Apple Car Play or Android Auto and let us use our PHONE'S mapping software!! Google Maps, Waze, and even Apple Maps get updated, what, every few weeks or so? When was the last time you updated the nav system in your car? 6 months ago? A year ago? Two years ago? Never? Having to download stuff to a USB stick and then manually get the car to update it's infotainment software from that USB stick is not something that most folks want to do. And some car manufacturers actually CHARGE for Nav updates?!! Ridiculous!!! (Yes, some newer cars have built-in cellular connections that allow for OTA updates when the auto manufacturer releases them. Which is, what, once a year? Twice a year at best? Tesla does it more often, but they're unique. And ALL of them, except Tesla again, charge an annual fee after the car is somewhere in the range of 3 to 5 years old to keep that cellular connection alive so the OTA updates can happen. Again, ridiculous!!) No. Just give us CarPlay and Android Auto so we can use our phones for nav. Screw that awful, hard to use, poorly-designed, unresponsive, difficult to update built-in proprietary Nav b.s. It'll never match our phone's capabilities.

Explain how to add to your CarPlay we all know how to use Waze
Open the "Settings" app.
