Steve wont remember but he lived in the next street to me in finchley,we were about 10 or 11 at the time,we played in the streets a couple of times together then drifted apart as kids do...over the years had a little chuckle about that but boy can he sing,glad he did well!👏🇬🇧

I have a little story to tell too.
A well known GERMAN JAZZMUSICIAN lived on the other side of my place. Maybe you kno😮w , HAMBURG was pretty destroyed in the 2nd world war. We grew up playing in all the ruins, although we were not allowed. And this great JAZZMUSICIAN to be was sent out into the ruins where he was sitting, practicing and the scales up and down. .
I still remember not only the scales, but something else he always played.

This has always been a favourite of mine and it was with some trepidation that I decided to listen in to Steve in this day and age ..... his voice sounds the same and still has that magic to draw you in. ... Steve .... you are a true Artist and Icon!! Love you to bits!

That is quite simply magnificent. I’ve loved this song since it was first released. As a musician, I’ve played it so many times over the decades of my career; but, I’d have given my back teeth to have had the privilege of playing it with Steve on vocals. Phenomenal 😃👍🏻👍🏻
