I met him backstage in 1969. I was 15 and shy and awkward. He was 18. He made me feel like I was the most important person he had ever met and took the trouble to talk to me. I was going through a hard time and have never forgotten this. Love him to this day.
now in my 70s growing up through the 60s , how lucky were us of that era, to have had quality artists like steve and love affair,.... none of the boom, boom shake the room crap like thats about today..
Why are you all being so horrible about the woman? She had obviously been picked from the audience to do this. This was probably one of the happiest moments in her life as a fan. Good on her for having a go and enjoying herself. Steve wasn’t too bothered about her voice so why should you party poopers be.
Seeing Steve and his mate Roger Daltrey hanging out elsewhere on YT is a pleasure, just a couple of London geezers with no attitude who happen to be Modfathers and one a hugely influencial rock god (and trout farm business man) hanging out, sounding like my mates when we get together is lovely to see.
Had pleasure to work and chauffeur steve to few shows few years back .great voice and lovely guy though bit of bandit at record stalls at shoreham boot fairs. Timeless classics 🎤
If I had the chance to get on stage with him I wouldn't give a monkey's cuss what I sounded like or what people thought, the mans a living legend to some of us of a certain age
Well, is Brits maybe struggling at the minute. But I was fortunate enough to live through the 60’s, we changed the face of the music industry for ever. Artists like Steve & hundreds of other Brits, the talent & ability. God I was blessed!!
Still such a legend i was 9 in 66 and remember fondley so much 60's stuff.Everlasting love bought back by the film belfast.Loved this era and steve ellis .
Sorry for being pedantic but he was 17 & I was 12 & still think he was underrated. Steve first found fame at the tender age of 17 as the lead singer with one of the most successful British pop acts of the 60’s, The Love Affair. Recording such classic's as Everlasting Love, Rainbow Valley, Bringing on back the Good times, One Road, A Day without Love ….etc which made them one of the biggest bands of 1968 with only The Beatles out selling them that year.
Seeing the movie Belfast the song played in it makes remember those songs that are classics to listen too! Like so many that are over 40 yrs old He has a great voice! Jamie Dornan did a good job singing it in the movie! he does that good too! ha wow
been a fan of love affair and steve ellis for ever all i can say is hes still the best and thats why paul weller is a fan and friend he knows whats what thanks steve you make my day
I really liked this, thank you. That lady on stage, very comical, I had to laugh. All the band watching her playing..thinking, what the hell is she doing? : )
My all time favourite song I play it on bass most nights and never get enough of it. Think the key board player looks a bit like John virgo the snooker player lol.
Its the bass line that makes this version, although Steve's vocals as a 16 year old were out of this world. The original hasn't got the heavy bass line in it & it sounds very, very different.

Steve Ellis one of the greatest Pop voices ever, not just of the 60's, with one of the greatest Pop lyricists ever, Philip Goodhand-Tait.
I can't believe his voice is still so good.
This was 22 years ago...
I didn’t know what to expect because back in the day they were very well produced on record.
His voice was excellent a bloody good singer!
@@SpaceCattttt Still good, though, you have to admit, even many years after he recorded it.

Felicidades.
But who was the woman who sang it on the original song she had the voice of an angel

I'm 15/16 again listening to these wonderful songs and Steve's amazing voice.

Try to imagine the song without the bass line.
I can't.
Its the bass line that makes this version, although Steve's vocals as a 16 year old were out of this world. The original hasn't got the heavy bass line in it & it sounds very, very different.
top class
