- The Su-25, a Soviet jet-powered CAS aircraft, was developed for roughly the same reasons as the American A-10 Thunderbolt II. After WW2, both superpowers came to the conclusion that there was no need for a dedicated ground attack aircraft anymore. After the harsh lessons of the Vietnam War, though, the US immediately revised their policy and started working on a new jet-powered attack aircraft.

@@salashwill3993 Yes, ethanol was one of the tested options, but you'd need more than the 40% that usual Vodka has.
Gas-turbine engines can run on pretty much anything liquid that combusts in air mixture, but different fuels have vastly varying efficiency and the level of fowling they produce (ethanol burns extremely cleanly). This is Germans were trying to develop gas-turbine engines at the end of WW2 derived from the JUMO engines used in Me-262. They even managed to equip and test drive a Jagdtiger(maybe multiple) using such engine.

I got hit by Aim-9L in my Su-25T, two of my wings break but still flew perfectly fine.

Thanks for making a Video on the SU25, its good that you listen to the fans.
Great video and I love the plane! My only admonishment is you didn't show it being shot down in SIM by mid field AA because the pilot was trying to use the zoom and fire a laser guided missle on targets that all look like pin pricks. Excited to unlock the SU-25BM!!!!! Flying at tree top level at red line in these planes really sells the feelling of being in a modern conflict and there is no other rush like it. The A-10 is no longer my favorite bird. The SU-25 is and forever will be my most favorite ground attacker!!!!
Save money for Su39... play SIM and you'll be born again.
I love running the SU-25's and the A-10's. My goal every match has been to gun down the opposite plane. Makes for some interesting fights
Now we have 5 SU 25 (with vakhirs and R 73´s) and only 2 A10 with nothing speacial to them...... Very balanced

A-10 is special bcs gun, not bcs load, thats why we have only two shitty A-10 planes and five Su-25 :)

Well when ever you hit belly or spine this plane is dead. Maybe you get crit and not kill it insantly, But the steering will be broken and it will just fall.

I'm going to assume that the Su-25TM and by extension Su-39 can use some soviet Anti Ship missiles. If that's the case then when would we see some modern-ish ships? One year? Two?

Theres some modern-ish ships tho thats just frigates for all ik, theres also a ship that has SAMs which has been fun to fight against in a Su25.
the only anti-ship missile in game as of now is on the German marine Tornado, the AS.34

Su-25s are basically a practice targets for aircrafts (this is same for A-10s)
same for like 75% of strike aircraft
except that you can dodge their R60s with an F-4 but you can't even dodge aim9Ls on MiG19 even going cold and pulling three 15G zig zags

that's wake turbulence and it's hella hard to replicate on a videogame. The plane could at least have two spiral force fields at the end that affect the particle systems it goes through

I love the Su-25. A ground attacker on steroids. It has so much ammo that you can't immagine that this plane can lift off.
what i think about them? be nice if we had an actual PvE mode not the absolute joke we have now. otherwise, my favourite CAS craft because it's not a flying tank destroyer, it's just a flying tank

Why not include the new event Su 25 as well?
su25T struggles in its current BR, either u get killed 1st when going straight in, or the battle usually ends if you want to out flank and bomb the bases

Also, what “gazillion” American attackers are you referring to ? Are you talking about the multiple American attack jets or the amount of A-10s in air battles ?
And to counterpoint your first question: Are the multiple Su-25 variants that take half of the opposing team not good for you as well ?
@rhdrivingslovenia6413 Ok, first of all, I said “the entire Russian tech tree” not just jets below Tram’s br. You’re comparing an attack aircraft made in the early 60’s designed to drop bombs from far away to early Cold War Soviet CAS aircrafts (50’s, except for the Yak-38 which was introduced in 1970’s) when the A-6 also meets other fighter jets that can easily take it out. It sees higher or same br most of the time. Even if we’re only talking about 10.0 and below, there are still several Soviet jets that can easily avoid the A-6 or take it down due to their superior air performance (excluding Yak-28B because barely anyone plays that thing), the opposing team can have multiple Mig-21s and Mig-19s to take care of the Intruder cause hundreds of flares ain’t gonna do any good against a supersonic that strafes you and flies away (albeit rarely happens in regular battles). Su-25s are notoriously known for being difficult to take down even if you aim for it’s weak points due to it having a good airframe, it also gets All-aspects and a good amount of countermeasures as well.
It’s funny how players in the tech tree that gets special treatment by a Russian company say that their jets are being “mistreated” when they are consistently winning more than half of the time.

In any case, the Soviets need to replenish the 6th rank with aircraft, because it looks depressing, especially with the MiG19-21, which in the current realities are just torture

great video, but the su 25s are struggling in BR where they are as su 25T falling against f14 and other 4th generation planes. I hope gaijin fixes the BR's for better gameplay.

I just played a game and I hit this thing with 3!! THREEEE!!!! Aim9Ls from my A10 and it still continued to fly
Can some explain how do dodge a r60m w/o flares. If they see you coming and have a missile (or just the possibility of having 1) makes them verry deadly or dangerous to even get close to let alone attack
ensure the only way they can fire is on a high-aspect shot from roughly 1km; from there, pull hard into the missile and it won’t be able to overload enough to hit you
i’ve had this happen both ways - flying out the Su-25, and flying aircraft like the F-105 which have to face it
If it gets loosed at you within about 2km and you aren't supersonic on the deck, you're basically dead.

My only addition to this is the fact it is virtually a copy of the Northrop A-9 which failed the competition against the A-10 Thunderbolt II. The Su-25 has longer, more powerful, less efficient engines and a Soviet-styled tail with less cockpit visibility.

where Ilyushin Il-102?
The Merkavas Mk.4, Mk.3 and Mk.2D have a proximity-fused shell. You didn't use it in the video (Top MBT Thriatlon in Episode 345), for some reason. The Merkava's (From Mk.3 and above) frontal armor plate also features an internal ERA protection, making it invincible to even a hit from a DM53 120 mm APFSDS shell in the frontal armor plate. The Merkava Mk.4 is also equipped with exported DM53 shells, locally named 'Hetz-2' (Arrow-2).
I hope you will add this changes to the Merkavas (Mk.3B, Mk.3C, Mk.3D - only the HE-VT (proximity fused) shells and the internal ERA; Mk.4B, Mk.4 LIC, Mk.4M - also the Arrow-2 (DM53) shell). You nerfed the Merkavas from the very begining. That's so unfair.
You also need to add a softkill APS, add-on armor protection against ATGMs and a coaxial M2HB 12.7 mm machine gun to the Merkava Mk.4 LIC.
You also need to add LAHAT Mk.3 ATGM to the Merkavas Mk.3 B and C and Merkava Mk.2D, The LAHAT Mk.4 ATGM to Merkavas Mk.4 B and LIC, and the LAHAT Mk.5 ATGM to the Merkava Mk.4M (LAHAT ATGM is a Spike ATGM fired from a tank gun).
And if you added the Ariete AMV and the Challanger 2E, you now need to add the new Merkava Mk.4 Barak (entered the active service in the last January).
Also you need to give Python-3 to Saraph, Peten and Tzefa D/E.
